Aidan and Derryl were lounging on the green couch in front of the fire in the Slytherin Common Room. They had been there for a good long hour now and neither had come up with anything to do. Aidan sighed and looked at the fire.
Derryl glared into nothingness and said with worry echoing through his voice, 'we've run dry, Aid.'
Aidan nodded his head. 'I know,' he said, ‘it’s pathetic. Just imagine what he would say if he saw us now.' He crossed his arms and sighed again.
This had never happened to the twins before. They had always been able to think of something to do but now neither of them could think of anything to do and this was making them depressed and grumpy.

Kim had come in late from one of her trips back to the place that was hidden just outside of Hogsmeade. She had slipped the item back into her pocket safe and sound, hidden by her robes, nobody but her would be able to tell it was there.
Walking into what she thought would be a quiet room, she saw the two meddlesome twins. Quite the trouble makers. Too bad they arent in my year, i could do with these two at some point in the near future im sure she thought as she glanced around, strutting to the open window as she looked outwards. These two seemingly not noticing her.
"By him, I do assume your father" Kim said, gritting her teeth at the word father. Things had come to light in the past few years that revealed hers for what he was. He of course, had ended up dead. If, she wasnt mistaken, by the hands of one Mr Addis. The Ex Defence professor. Her sister too, had died not too long after. Though these thoughts, and the feelings she once held for them, had diminished a fair while back.
She turned to look at the two twins, if she needed them, she would tell them. She knew they'd be more than happy to help, but she would not tell them what it was about. I may not need their help now, i may not need it five years from now... But none-the less...

'Yeah,' Derryl moaned, 'and then we'd get the look!' Derryl sat up, crossed his arms and frowned, pushing his bottom lip out. This was the look they often got. Aidan began to laugh when he saw his brother's imitation of the look and Derryl laughed too. But they soon stopped laughing when they heard someone's voice.
Whirling around in his seat, Aidan saw Kim standing by a window. Derryl kicked Aid and when he looked at him he raised his eyebrows up and down a few times. Aidan nodded. This was their way of communicating and few others understood it.
Aidan turned back to Kim and grimaced, 'father? O' course not. He'd kill us if we did anything ... we do.'
Derryl sat back in his chair again and stared into the fire. 'That's right,' Derryl said, linking his fingers over his stomach, 'we're talking about Thadhg McKinght. He was our mentor while he was still here. Wonderful bloke.' At the last comment, Derryl looked at Kim inquiringly. 'You remember him? Tall guy, blond hair, was final year two years ago.'
