Parker was done with classes for the day and, although he had a fair bit of work to do, it was nap time. He had thought long and hard about whether he should take his nap outside or inside. A lot of people will be outside right now, he had thought. It's a nice day and all that. He rolled his eyes at the thought. Nice days were highly overrated in his opinion which, to him, was the only opinion that mattered. He hauled his bookbag over to a comfy-looking sofa and dropped it to the floor. Sitting down, he took a quick look around at the otherwise empty common room and then laid down to rest. He put his arms behind his head, closed his eyes and slowly drifted to sleep.

Adriana came rushing into the common room. She very much wanted to go outside before the sun set, but wouldn't allow herself to do that before she'd finished her work. It wasn't long until she realised that there was already someone there. This normally wouldn't have bothered her, but the person appeared to be asleep which meant she'd have to be extremely quiet. Being quiet wasn't a problem for her either, it just stressed her out a little more than necessary. She stressed much more than any normal person should. She slowed her pace way down and made her way to a table.
Bang! She was on the floor, having tripped on the edge of a rug as she'd passed on by. She made a face as if she were about to swear, but held it in. She pushed herself up to a sitting position and rubbed her now sore elbows and knees. That's when she remembered the sleeping boy on the couch. She hoped very much that she hadn't woken him.

A loud noise brought Parker back to his senses. He blinked a couple times before sitting up and looking around. There on the ground was that girl he fancied and to make things better, she looked like she needed some help. Lightning fast, he jumped over the edge of the sofa and was squatted down at her side. "Are yeh alrigh'?" he asked her with true concern. He'd developed the crush on the girl when he first saw her that time in the library. "Are yeh hurt bad? Can I get yeh anyfing?" He looked at her concernedly.

"Um," she started, taken quite aback by the way he seemed to care, "No, no. I'll be fine. Just had a fall, that's all. I'm really sorry that I woke you. I was trying to be as careful as possible, I just..." She a falling motion with her hand and smiled sheepishly. "I'll be alright, she said again. She got unsteadily to her feet and reached to pick up her bookbag which had fallen when she had. "Thank you for your concern," she said to the boy before realising she didn't know who she was. "I'm Adriana. It's a pleasure to meet you, though I wish it were under less embarrassing circumstances." She blushed a little and bit her lower lip nervously.

Parker grinned and lifted himself to his feet with a groan. "It was no problem really," he said. "I don' remember actually doing anyfing." He chuckled and then smiled warmly. "I'm Parker. It's really nice to meet yeh, Adriana. I don' fink this was all that embarrassing though I may be wrong." He shifted his weight to his right side and looked down at her bag. "What are yeh doing inside on such a nice day? Can' want to be here unless yeh have to."

"No, no. Not something I want to do exactly," Adriana replied. She followed his gaze to her bag and then lifted up over to her shoulder. "I've got some work to do and if I don't do it now then I won't ever get it done. I'm not very disciplined it seems when it comes to school work. I was actually about to go finish it up when I fell." She blushed again and then pointed at the tables. "If you don't mind, I'm going to go sit and put my bag down over there. It's a little heavy." Turning on her heals, she walked up to the table and laid her bag down. Then she turned back to Parker and raised her eyebrows questioningly at him, asking him whether or not he was going to join her.

Parker shoved his hands into his pockets and then simultaneously shrugged his shoulders, raised his eyebrows and looked up to the ceiling. "I guess I might as well," he replied, "since yeh already ruined my nap." "Just kidding," he added quickly, worried he might make her feel guilty. He sauntered over to the table and pulled out the chair nearest to Adriana. "Would yeh like to take a seat, Adriana?" he asked politely while doing a slight mock bow.

Adriana smiled, shaking her head at him ever so slightly and sat down. "That's very kind of you," she said as she pointed to an opposing chair. "Won't you have a seat as well?" "Actually, you won't mind if I take some extra weight to my room would you? "Before waiting for his response, she pulled some books from her bag and shot off to the girls dormitory. Hardly a few seconds later, she was back, the books gone. She smiled and sat back down in her chair. "Sorry about that," she said, pushing herself in a little closer to the table. "So, what are you doing in here? Just napping? Don't you think your own bed would be more suitable for that?" She didn't mean to be nosy, but she found it a tad odd to sleep in the middle of the usually crowded common room.

"Well uh... I guess so," Parker said as he sat down opposite her chair. "But I was finking that everyone would be outside, yeh know. Such a nice day and all." He shrugged his shoulders. Now that she'd brought it up, he really couldn't come up with a good reason at all as to why he'd thought to nap in the common room. "Maybe it wasn't such a good idea come to fink of it," he said after a moments contemplation. "So, what've yeh got to do." He nodded his head in the direction of her bag.
