Violet walked into the common room and took a seat in her favorite arm chair and thought that she could do some homework. She was actually quite tired and wouldn't mind a little sleep, but she wanted to get this essay. Though it wasn't due for another two weeks, she thought it would be a good idea to get a head start on it. She lifted her big book of herbology and started reading through the chapter.
The room was awfully warm, or at least she thought it was. And, whenever it's warm like this, Violet gets very sleepy. She had read at least five pages before she felt her eyes droop. Her hand from the book fell on her lap and before she knew it, she had fallen alseep.

Nira wasn't feeling that well- either the Hogwarts Halls had dropped ten degrees, or she was getting a chill. Either way, the comforting warmth of the Ravenclaw common room might take the shivers away. Muttering 'fairylights' and entering it quickly, it took her a few moments of cuddling her arms on before actually relising the temperature. "Mm.." She murmured, crossing her arms over her stomach to pull her sweater off. Instantly relieved of her cold problem, Nira trudged upstairs to discard her sweater on her bed. Jumping onto the couch and landing cross-legged beside the slumbering girl, she took a quick glance at the homework she had been trying to write, shaking her head. That Herbology essay wasn't due for another two weeks! Pausing thoughtfully, Nira nodded her head; knowing it was a good idea to get big homework assignments out of the way. "Accio book bag." The witch murmured, her wand poined in the direction of the girls' dorms. Instantly, the item shot towards her, skidding to a halt mid-air so she could gracefully gather it in her arms, instead of it clubbing her in the stomach. Rummaging inside, Nira popped in a piece of vanilla-flavored gum, chewing while retrieving the Charms book and parchment inside. Removing the ink jar next, then her eagle-feathered quill. At once, after glimpsing the writing tool, she giggled quietly. She had remembered her pet raven Fang's reaction when they had entered the supply shop and were offered a raven's quill for half off. Why, Fang nearly destroyed the entire store, he was so insulted! Nira made a mental note of visiting him outside; he hates The Owlery, it made him feel out of place with all those big dumb birds. He brought her mail as well as any owl.
Unfortunately she had missed the Charms class on Prior Incantato, so the talented little witch would just have to do it herself. Having gotten the lesson plan from Professor Hubbles, Nira had vowed to return it to him the next day, after practising the spell and answering the questions. Propping open the text book, she stole a glance at the slumbering girl next to her, envying her for how fast she could nod off. It took her hours to get to sleep, and the other fourth year could do it in less than a minute! Lucky. Dipping her quill in the ink jar, Nira began to write, the words flowing from her hand in an elegant script. Stopping only to scrawl her name and year at the top of the page, she began again.
Prior Incantato
What is it? A spell that forces the target's wand to emit a ghost-like image of the spell last cast. To remove the image, use the spell Deletrius. Why would you use it? Against the Slytherin bullies to see what hex they had used on that poor student. Who would use it? Me. Any Hogwarts student willing to stand up to Slytherin.
Clicking her tongue with satisfaction, glad at how fast that was, Nira nudged the girl beside her. Who, by the looks of it, was a fourth year too. "Hey." She murmured quietly, drying her quill off to gently poke her with it. "Wake up, sleepyhead. You'll spill your ink." Which was often the consequence of falling asleep during homework-time. Your stuff would be ruined, and you'd have to do it all over again. That wasn't good, now was it? Nira chuckled, moving the drowsy girl's ink jar to a safer part of the table. Unless it was on the couch, which then she would just move it to a safe part of the table. Delicately sliding her homework back into her bag, along with her dried quill and corked jar of ink, Nira rubbed her hands together, placing the entire thing on the floor. Once the person beside her had awoken, she would introduce herself with a kind smile. "Im Nira Lanelle, fourth year." She wasn't new at all, heavens no, the Ravenclaw girl had attended Hogwarts since first year. She was just a bit shy those first three years, only bucking up the courage to be more confident this year. So far, it was doing her good.

Alexis entered the common room after Quidditch practice that night and she was so tired and sore that all she wanted to do was run up to her room and fall on her bed fully dressed and fall asleep but she knew that she couldn't do that. No she had to study ancient runes that night she was so behind in that class and barely knew what she was doing. She thought that perhaps by studying alone she could understand it better.
Running up to her room she changed her clothes threw on a pair of pj pants and a tank top bunny slippers on her feet and her long hair in a ponytail. As she marched back down the stairs armed with books she looked around trying to spot a good place to study.
Seeing someone else already doing work she ventured in her direction and asked politely 'Do you mind if I sit here?' then her eyes caught a girl napping looking so peaceful and Alexis was envious because that's what she was so longing to do at that moment. It was taking all of her energy to keep her eyes opened at that moment but she knew that studying came first or she would have to give up Quidditch since that was the deal she had made with her parents.

"Not at all." Nira answered, gesturing to a free spot beside her, "You look like you'd rather be asleep, though." She chuckled quietly, eyeing the studying materials in the fellow Ravenclaw's hands after noticing the exhausted look in her eyes. Thank goodness she had finished up her homework, or else, like Alexis, she might have had to stay up later to finish it instead of getting a good rest. Tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, the young witch yawned, figuring there was no need to light a fire because the room was warm already. Nice, cozy, and inviting. Away from the nosy students and protected from the jeers of Slytherins. But dont rear Nira wrong, of course, she wasn't prejudiced when it came to Slytherin. If bullied, then she didn't like the person, not the entire house. Not all of them were that bad.
"Im Nira Lanelle, by the way. You're Alexis right?" She had overheard the name in a conversation before, but might be wrong. Smiling, she shuffled her bag over to make space for her, finally just resting it on a nearby side-table instead of fussing with where to put it. It was good for her to be interacting with her fellow students. The first three years at Hogwarts, Nira was almost a ghost. Knowing nobody and not doing anything about it. Only recently did she buck up the guts to stand up for herself, a great improvement, one might add.
