[Rav C. Room] Looking around...

[Alexis Heart]

Alexis had been looking around in her room for the last fifteen minutes, but there was no sign. It was one of those situations that would normally make her want to cry simply because she was very emotional but now was not the time. How in the world had this happened? She couldn't remember leaving the door opened at any point during that day. Perhaps someone had come into her room, but why? Sighing she did one more sweep under the bed and when all she was greeted with were dust balls, she got up wiped the knees of her jeans and figured she would have to do down to the common room to look.

The moment she arrived she saw that the place was packed, there were students everywhere, she wasn't sure how she was going to look in this mess. Trying to figure out where to start first she moved toward a chair in the back of the room, since this was the least populated area, walking slowly across feeling some eyes on her she just smiled and continued on her way, her eyes peeled for any sign. She was so busy looking that she knocked right into the chair she had been looking at without realizing it. After she felt a sharp pain in her big toe though she looked up noticing that the chair was occupied, by a pretty red head that she knew from her classes but had yet to actually speak to, knowing her name though Angel said, 'Nikole I'm so sorry I-I didn't mean that it's just I'm looking for,' before she could finish she thought that she noticed a tail go out of site behind one of the desks, 'Oh I lost my kitten Snowy and I'm trying to find her, do you think you can help me?'

[Nikole Talley]

Nikole turned and looked at the girl who had run into the chair. "Of course, no problem," she said standing up. She had never actually had a conversation with Alexis before, but she would usually help someone who needed it.

Nikole looked around the crowded room and turned back to Alexis. "Alexis, I'm going to make a guess and say Snowy is white, correct?" she asked, needing to know what kind of kitten she was looking for. She started looking for any sign of white that was moving or out of place. "Does Snowy have any favorite spots in the common room?" Nikole asked turning back to Alexis again.

When Nikole asked what color Snowy was Alexis usually dramatic at times smacked herself in the head, not hard enough to hurt herself but hard enough that it might leave the skin a little red. 'Sheesh here I am asking you to help me and not giving you anything to go on, yes you're right snowy is white but one of her ears is black, she's never really been out of my room before I usually stay up there with her, I still don't know how she got out I try to be very careful about that.'

Hear head moving back and forth as she looked around the room trying to see if her sweetie was wandering around looking for her. 'If she was anywhere it would probably be somewhere where it's dark, she's not very much into people usually when someone knocks on my door she ends up hiding under my bed. All these students she's probably hiding under a chair or someplace where she thinks no one can see her.' Funny how she never realized how alike she and her kitten were. They were both kind of shy and usually hid rather than deal with others. Shaking her head at this thought she re-focused her attention on what she was doing.

[Nikole Talley]

Nikole noticed how dramatic the girl was being about her cat being lost. Figuring that she was just very attached to the animal, Nikole shrugged and went on. "Well don't worry, we'll find her. White with one black ear..." she said looking around the room for an area that would be dark, and a good hiding spot.

Noticing a bit of movement under the couch in the middle of the room, Nikole made her way over there. Ignoring the people on the couch she bent down to see what had been moving under it. She immediately saw a rat. Just as she was about to jump up because of her hatred of rats, she saw a flash of white jump at the rat as both creatures bolted out from under the couch and to the left side of the room. Turning to Alexis she said,"I think she may be over there." As she said this she pointed to the left.

Alexis had been watching Nikole and saw as she made her way over to the couch. Excitement coursed through her as she realized that the girl had seen something. Smiling she started to walk over but the next thing she knew Nikole jumped back. It seems that whatever she spotted didn't give her the warm and fuzzies.

Alexis wasn't sure what had just happened but then as if in slow motion she saw something White streak past her and jump onto the couch and begin pawing at the spot Nikole had just jumped from. Comprehension dawning on Alexis at once as she realized that it must have been someone's pet rat. Knowing what Snowy was capable of Alexis ran hearing the familiar hissing sound her baby made when she saw something she'd like to eat, grabbing at the cat as she tried to take a swipe at the trembling rodent Alexis looked down at her and said sternly, 'No Snowy that's not for eating, you stop it right now.' As if the kitten knew she was defeated she stopped trying to jump down back onto the couch and lay docilely in Alex's arms.

Apologizing to the perplexed boy who had been sitting on that couch she smiled looked back to Nikole and said, 'Thank you so much for you help, if you hadn't found that rat I wouldn't have found Snowy. I'm sorry about, well what exactly did happen I just saw you jump back.'

[Nikole Talley]

Nikole smiled at Alexis. "No problem, it's always good to help someone in need." She blushed a little as she answered the question, "I saw the rat and then suddenly there was Snowy...and well, I'm not very good with animals." Nikole looked from Snowy to Alexis as she finished the statement.

"So, I wanted to get out of the way." Nikole smiled looking at the kitten again. "It is such an adorable little creature. And she understands you so well." Nikole had noticed how the cat had reacted when Alexis spoke to it.

Alexis could understand all about not liking animals that much. She actually used like cats either. She had been scratched severely once when she was younger and spent years despising them until her mother brought Snowy home. Alexis immediately fell in love with the sweet and docile kitten. All fears and insecurities had been forgotten at least when it came to cats. Rats on the other hand well those just didn't appeal much to her either so she smiled and understanding smile at Nikole. 'Well Snowy here's not a problem but' her head nodding toward that lump in the cushion, whispering she said, 'that I can understand.'

Happier now that her and kitty were reunited she said, 'Well it's early yet, um why don't we uh,' she wasn't good at the small talk at all, 'well you know we could uh kinda sit and um like talk maybe,' she finally spat out the words but now felt like the biggest looser.

[Nikole Talley]

Nikole looked at the kitten suspiciously. It didn't matter how docile it was, if it had claws Nikole generally didn't trust it. "Yes...well, I'm sure she's a sweet little kitten." It's not that Nikole didn't like animals, as much as they didn't like her. She had never met an animal yet, that was friendly toward her.

Nikole laughed a little at the girl, and quickly she realized how rude that was. "Actually, sitting and talking would pass the time much faster than just sitting and doing nothing," she said with a friendly smile. She walked over to the chair she had been sitting in before Alexis showed up. She pulled another chair over close to it and sat down, motioning for Alexis to come.

Alexis sensed that maybe Nikole didn't really like animals or maybe it was just cats. She wasn't sure. That was too bad because the way Snowy was looking and purring she seemed to like the new girl. Smiling at that Alexis sat down, kitten sitting comfortably in her arms Alexis began to stroke her without even realizing it that just seemed to come second nature to her.

Nikole had laughed perhaps at her fumbing with her words but Alexis didn't mind if the shoe were on the other foot she probably would have laughed herself. Alexis didn't even bother mentioning it since it wouldn't do any good, so she tried to think of what the two of them could possbily talk about, 'So well, how are you doing in your classes this term,' as soon as she spoke the words she wanted to reel them right back in. How silly she sounded talking about school of all the things she could have brought up she chose school. What a dingy bat.

Nikole laughed a little at the question before answering. "Well, I am a Ravenclaw, so I am of course doing excellently," she said with a smile. "Although Care of Magical Creatures does take an extra bit of effort," she said with a sigh. "Animals and me don't really mix very well, but what can you do?" she finished with a shrug.

After a moment of looking down and thinking Nikole looked back up at Alexis. "Hey, you're on the quidditch team, aren't you?" she asked. She was almost certain that Alexis was, but she didn't really pay as much attention to quidditch as most people did, so she could be wrong. "Umm...let's see...I believe you're a chaser," she said looking curiously at Alexis.

Alexis giggled at Nikole's comment about Care of Magical Creatures class. She did like animals but she actually wasn't that fond of it either. 'Well animals don't bother me but the class does I thought it would be fun you know but I'm not enjoying it, I guess I prefer something that's actually going to challenge me, I love potions an transfiguration.'

The whole time Alexis didn't think Nikole knew anything about her just as she really hadn't known anything about her but shockingly enough it seemed that Nikole did know a little something that being that Alexis was on the house Quidditch team. 'Why yeah I am, that's exactly right. Sometimes I don't think people notice most of the other team members are better known. Most people don't realize I'm on the team until I actually make a save or something,' she said and laughed because she usually did find that quite funny, when her laughter died away she asked 'So do you enjoy Quidditch? What's your team?'

Nikole smiled at the girl's comment about her favorite classes. "I like the way you think," she said with a smile. Those were two of her favorite classes as well, and she liked someone that strived to be challenged.

Nikole laughed. It didn't surprise her that not many people noticed Alexis. She was the youngest, and as such not thought of as much. When the girl asked her something about quidditch Nikole smiled slightly and answered, "Umm...actually, I don't really follow quidditch that much," she said knowing that it was strange, since most people in the wizarding world loved quidditch. "I find myself to preoccupied with other things to worry much about it."

Alexis had to admit she was a bit shocked that Nikole didn't really follow Quidditch, she guessed it was primarily because she was with the team a lot of the time and all they did was talk about it amongst each other. Sometimes she thought that Quidditch was everything, especially since her family was such a big fan of the sport. She didn't know many people therefore, who weren't that into it. Alexis always thought that if she met someone that didn't feelt passionately about it as she did that she wouldn't like them as much, but meeting Nikole she realized that she was dead wrong. Nikole was turning out to be delightful company.

Snowy began purring while in Alexis' arms and she continued to pet her baby while looking at Nikole thoughtfully. 'So what kind of things do you like to do in your spare time then, if I'm not playing Quidditch I'm usually trying to study or reading a good book.'
