Milone scratched her pale leg as she stretched out on the fluffy woolen rug in fron of the fire.
Flames licked at the unfortunate logs and devoured discarded paper, crackling and sparking higher and higher. The fireplace wouldn't allow it to spill into the bright blue room, but one could tell the hungry fire was longing to sweep through a chamber and leave it charred and in ruins. If it could, it would take over everything--even the oceans would succumb to it's force. Fire would be the most powerful element on the planet...earth would be nothing more than a burning star among masses and masses of infinite others.
Milone reached for her bookbag and pulled out her dark red diary. With a flick of her thin goldenwood wand it snapped open and rustled to the newest page.

Enna wasn't in a particularly good mood today, so she entered the common room and sat down on one of the unoccupied couches. She saw a girl, but she wasn't so sure who she was.
"And you are...?" Enna asked, her delicate hands sitting gracefully on her crossed legs. Her hair was up in a perfect bun and she was wearing a black tank top with navy sweatpants. She had just been outside, jogging with her friends.

Russell strutted into the common room with two books under his arm. He had just come from the library and was contemplating going to his room and reading there but then, looking around the room, he spotted two beautiful young ladies by a crackling fire.
Russell put his books under the other arm and ran his free hand through his hair. He walked to a sofa and sat himself down, putting the books on his crossed legs. He opened the top one, pretending to not have seen the girls, then suddenly looked up in shock and said, "oh, sorry ladies, hope I'm not interrupting anything. How are you, Alenna? And yourself?" This last question was directed at the other girl.

Adriana walked cautiously out of her dorm room, shut the door quietly and headed to the common room carrying with her a book, parchment and a quill. She wasn't entirely sure why, but one of her roommates was acting a bit foolhardy and practising wand work that would be better used in a much bigger place like, for instance, an open field. A dorm room was hardly the place for that kind of magic.
As she reached the common room, she saw that there were already a few people hanging about, but luckily all the tables were free. She smiled at the group there and then walked to the nearest table, setting down her things to begin writing the essay that she had due the next day. The only problem was that she wasn't feeling much like writing an essay at the moment, so instead she decided to let her eyes wander about the room.

((OOC:: Russel, was that directed to Milone?))
Enna let her eyes follow the boy who entered the room, a smile forming at the edges of her lips. Yes, of course he was very handsome, and humorous when he pretended he didn't see them.

((oh that's fine! )) Alenna smiled as he asked her how she was. "Fine...not my best..." she sighed, trying hard to smile. She gazed at the fire, letting it warm her face. "Say, Rus, how'd you do in Potions?" ((sry it's short, I'm in a rush))

Russell turned to look who was coming into the common room and winked at Adriana but frowned when she didn't join them. Shrugging, he decided he should have known better, she is shy after all! Then he turned to Alenna as she answered.
A pinch formed in his brow as she spoke. I wonder ... he thought, then decided to ask. "I do just fine in Potions, but why aren't you at your best? You're far too pretty to be worried or sad." He gave her a playful wink and smiled.

Arthur Aendole, a first year, who was also muggle born; unknown to the wizarding world until just recently. Arthur was sitting alone in a dimly lit corner of the Ravenclaw common room. He took a deep breathe and let it out, the candle next to him extinguished from the air coming across it. The wick glowed a light red and smoke rose from it. Arthur let out a sigh and lifted his wand. He tried to recollect the memory of the smell he learned to start a small fire, it should be enough to light the half-melted, wax candle.
He aimed the tip of the wand at the candle's unlit wick and said, "Incendius!" the wick of the candle then roared to life, it's flame danced and flicked. Arthur lowered his head back to the book, occasionally listening to the other conversations going on, none of them more interesting than this book he found in the boy's bathroom on the first floor. Arthur then looked at the piece of paper below him, he looked at it through his glasses, the piece of paper came from The Daily Prophet. Arthur had tried this spells eight times earlier with no prevail. He waved his hand with his wand just like the book showed. He practiced this a few times before looking at the piece of paper, doing the correct hand movements and clearly spoke, "Diffindo!" The piece of paper then ripped in half and Arthur smiled with success.
