Jac was sprawled across the double seater couch across from the fire place with a large pile of letters on her stomach. It was after supper and the common room was filled with the hustle and bustle of pre-bed time business. But Jac was quiet, this was the first indication something was not right, with a letter in her hand above her head.
She put her other arm behind her head and sighed heavily, dropping her arm with the letter in hand. She turned to face the fire place. Maybe Allona's right ... she thought, maybe a transfer’s the best thing? Grabbing all her letters, Jac sat up and plonked them next to her. But my whole life is here ... and I have so little time left here as it is ... She sighed again. "So much for 'it'll all be alright once I'm married'," Jac thought aloud, mimicking her older sister in a sarcastic drone.

Elizabeth went down the dormitory stairs into the common room. There were students all talking and walking around. But what caught her attention was a girl lying down on a couch by the fire. Lizzie walked over to her just as she heard her say,
"So much for 'it'll be alright once I'm married'" sarcastically. Lizzie frowned and sat down next to her.
"Are you okay?" she asked the girl worriedly.

Jac jumped when someone spoke to her. She got such a fright her hair turned a shocking orange and she dropped all her letters on the floor. When she had calmed down, Jac smoother her hair down, getting it it's normal dark chocolate brown, but her eyes stayed emerald green.
Embarrassedly, she bent down and began picking up the many letters she had dropped. Then Jac realised that the girl was still there. "Oh ... um, not really," Jac said softly, slowly, then sighed, "family drama!" Still crouched by the letters, Jac added, looking up at the girl, "but what can you do?"

Daley was with her baby daughter, Cecelia in the common room. Cecelia always tended to fall asleep faster in the warm common room. She was new to the school, just having transfered from Beauxbatons. She was wearing an old beauxbatons sweatshirt, and navy blue pajama shorts. cradling her baby in her arms, she strode over to two girls she hadnt met yet.
"hello, im Daley. Daley Lyndon. do you mind if is sit down?" she asked in a friendly manner.

Jac looked up in surprise to see a unknown Gryffie holding a baby? Jac's surprise was obvious but she was not unkind. "Sure," she said, "help yourself." The new comer looked to be about her own age but Jac had never seen her before, and Jac was good with faces.
"Jac," she said, after realising her mouth was open, "good to meet you, Daley." She was trying not to ask the question that was plaguing her mind, trying not to be rude, but she couldn't keep it in any more. "Is that a baby?" she asked, her problems forgotten, "as in a real baby?" She wanted to ask more but that was all she could get out.

Daley smiled, amusedly "Yes, this is my daughter, Cecelia. We just moved here from France," Daley answered. She didnt mind people asking questions, she was used to it, and she wasnt ashamed of Cecelia. Her daughter was her life. "I went to Beauxbatons Academy."
Daley thought about her old school. She missed it alot, but not all of it. Cecelia's no good, rotten, irresponsible father was a jerk, and left her when he found out that Daley was pregnant. She would never forgive him. She thought he loved her, but really he only liked her for her beauty. Her mother had been a Veela. Daley's father also left her mother, but it was only because he found out she was unhuman. So basically, Daley didn't really trust men.

Jac cocked her head to look at the child in Daley's arms. Jac didn't really like children and they never seemed to like her much, always screaming when she came close. So Jac kept her distance but she looked at the beautiful child nevertheless. A smile danced on Jac's lips but before it could form, she frowned, her hair turning a deep purple and her eyes a deep emerald green.
"Why did you transfer?" Jac asked curiously. She was always interested in people and she always wanted to know everything about everyone. A trait she had gotten from her brother. "Was it because of ..." she couldn't quite say the word so nodded her head towards the bundle in the girls arms. "Did they treat you badly when they found out? Your friends? Parents? Boy friend? Was it your boyfriend?"

Daley almost betrayed a hint of emotion, but shook it away. She nodded, and though, what is the point of lying? "My ex-boyfriend," she conceeded. "He tried to tell everyone that it wasn't his, when he knew damn well-" Daley stopped, and steadied herself before she went on. "Well, my mother and I just thought it best to leave," Daley sighed.

Jac nodded thoughtfully and said, "ya, that makes sense." She ran just like any scared, pregnant girl would. Jac knew that she would not know how to face the jerk who had impregnated her but she wasn't the kind of girl to get pregnant. She wouldn't point this out to the girl for fear of hurting her feelings.
Realising she had been quiet for a bit too long, staring at nothing in particular, Jac took a deep breath and smiled at Daley. "So your mum was supportive then?" she asked, "and what did your father have to say? My father would have thrown me out of the house and disowned me."
