Ginny had awoken that Saturday and lay in bed for what seemed like hours after she got up. It was only when she heard her stomach growl and growl loudly that she checked her watch and noticed that breakfast in the Great Hall was about to be over. Flying out of bed she quickly showered and then threw on a pair of gray sweatpants, a white T-shirt with her name on the front, and a pair of black trainers. Her hair was still a little wet so she just ran a brush through it and put it up in a ponytail. She looked so much younger because of it.
Opening her door she walked down into the common room so many people had already returned from breakfast, this meant they Gryffindor table was going to be pretty empty on this Saturday. She was right, there was only about a handful of students left and they were pretty much finishing up. Walking over ponytail swinging behind with every step she took she sat near the end of the table smiling and nodding at a few students who glanced her way. Grabbing a cup and the nearest coffee pot she poured herself a steaming cup full, adding condiments until she was satisfied. Taking a sip she looked around trying to see what she would like to eat, deciding on a buttered blueberry muffin she munched away happily, until she heard someone near her coughing as if trying to get her attention. Her eyes searched and made contact with...

Jac. Jac had fallen asleep at breakfast that morning for no other reason then she was up all night reading one of her brother's books. She had woken with a start and glanced around frantically, her hair shooting lava orange. Her dream had felt so real, so very real, but now that she saw where she was, in the Great Hall for breakfast, she relaxed. She straightened her curly hair with a few pats and strokes and it turned its normal, boring dark brown-black colour.
She tasted the peculiar taste in her mouth and looked around. She saw a jug of pumpkin juice and grabbed it by its large, claw shaped handle. She poured some of the content into a cup she had gotten from the table and set the jug back on the table. She drank slowly, long and looked around as someone with red hair came into the hall. Jac grinned, tried to swallow so she could call to Ginny to join her, but ended up breathing in half her mouthful. The other half poured out of her mouth and she began coughing.
Soon, she realised it had worked, she had gotten Ginny's attention. It may have been unorthodox but a happy accident was always a pleasure ... except when it chocked you! Jac thought angrily as she hit her back, holding a fist to her mouth. After calming her coughing a little, she waved for Ginny to join her. "Hiya," she called, and coughed again.

"You feeling alright Ms. Biggerstall?" said Cyprian, gliding over to her end of the gryffindor table. "It seems you are a little too ambitious with that pumpkin juice. Just be happy that you can still taste it," he frowned, pouring a few drops of pumpkin juice down his throat, which could be seen passing through his body and dropping on the floor. He tried to wipe it up, but his hand went right through it. "Bloody hell! I always forget." It was quite the bitter day for Cyprian, and it had only just started.

Jac hit her chest, still coughing. She looked over her shoulder and saw a ghost floating towards her. She managed to stop coughing long enough to give Nott a grin. "Just a bit of choking," she explained, "nothing to worry about." She poured herself another glass of pumpkin juice and took a small sip. Her coughing had subsided but her throat was still sore. She sipped again and lay down on the crook of her arm. She yawned and smiled at Ginny again. "How you doing?" she asked her.

As Hester walked into the Great Hall she noticed the Hufflepuff table was empty, for she was late again. She decided to sit at the Gryffindor table so she wouldn't be completely alone. As she sat down she noticed two Gryffindors and one of the ghosts. She realized she must hurry for her first class would start in five minutes. She piled some food in her mouth, deciding to take another muffin with her on the way to class. Thinking about her next class, she decided to ask the ghost how to get there.

"Certainly, although you are not in my house" smiled Cyprian. He glided past her and spoke, "this way Ms. Chanely, I hope you are ready to learn something." Gliding past the house tables, Cyprian thought of the time when he was a student here. He missed those days. He glided through the woodwork of the Great Hall's doors, it was one trick that he enjoyed as a ghost. Although he would much rather be alive, playing Quidditch.

Following the ghost was quite unusual, as she tried to make conversation Hester asked him "Sir whats your name?"

Darting back through the stone wall next to the door, Cyprian came face to face with the young girl. "Cyprian Nott at your service, madame," he said, taking a very gracious bow. "I died quite some time ago in a quidditch match. It was a bewitched bludger, cursed thing sprouted spikes the size of a basilisk fang and stabbed me in the heart." Cyprian moved aside part of his coat to show a large hole through his shadowy body. "I reckon we would have won the Quidditch World Cup that year..." his voice trailed off in sadness. He drifted back through the wall, leaving the girl standing where she had been. He had forgotten that he promised to take to her class, and instead decided to go drift in the lake in search of the giant squid.
