Drake sighed as he walked into his common room from the boys' dormitory late at night. He couldn't sleep. He was bored and energetic, although he didn't know what to do.
He sat down in front of the fire on the floor, staring at the still burning flames. Guess he could wait for someone to come down, or bore himself to sleep.... He chuckled at the first option. Like someone would come down at this ungodly hour of the morning. Who would? And idiot, maybe.
Wait....He was down here at this ungodly time in the morning. He just called himself an idiot.

Even worse, he'd just called Soph an idiot, but luckily she didn't know that; or else Drake probably would have felt her fury, especially as she couldn't sleep and she had a crucially important exam tomorrow, or rather today. Wiping sleep from her eyes Sophie drozily descended annoyed that she'd awoken already, there was no chance she'd fall back onto her soft pillow now.
Flicking her hair up as she stretched Sophie yawned loudly, enjoying the echoe of it. Only then did she notice Drake sat before the fire, thank god she'd thought to get fully dressed before coming down. What was he doing up? He didn't have an exam tomorrow she thought quite irratibly, mainly due to nervousness at her upcoming trial. But nothing could fully dampen her spirits so she called out cheerily, but still quietly so as not to wake any other slumberers.
"Morning Drake, what on earth are you doing up already?" She asked curiously, as she settled herself into a cosy armchair, with a book propped upon the arm she read whilst conitnuing to fire questions. She could easily multi-task. "You haven't done anything bad recently Drake, is something wrong?" She laughed, "you're usually galavanting with Aiden at this hour aren't you?"

"But it's too early for anything like that," Jac yawned, standing in the doorway from the girls dorm room. When Sophie had gotten up, she had woken Jac up and she knew she wouldn't be able to get beck to sleep now. So she had followed Soph down stairs and found her with someone.
Leaving the doorway, Jac stumbled over to the fire place. She flopped onto the carpet in front of the fire place. "What are you two doing up?" she asked, rubbing her eyes, sleepily. She couldn't believe that anyone could be awake at this hour especially with an exam looming as ferociously as it was.

Daley descended the stairs and came upon three of her new fellow Gryffindors. Luckily for her, her daughter Cecelia was still sleeping upstairs, so she finally had some alone time. Well, not really alone time, as there was three other people in the common room. Just time where she didn't have to worry about her baby.
"What is zee occasion for zees gathering?" Daley asked, cursing herself for letting slip the French accent she was so desperately trying to rid herself of. She corrected herself. "What is going on?"
She smiled and sunk down into a crimson armchair by the fire.

Jac turned to see Daley descend the stairs. She smiled at her and waved. "Well," she began taking a deep breath, "that's what we're just about to hear." She looked expectantly at the boy who's name she thought was Blake but she wasn't sure.
"He's awake," Jac continued unwaveringly, "Soph's awake, woke me up, and here I am. What about you?" She looked at Daley and smiled, slightly more awake then two minutes ago. "Did the kido wake you?" Jac was fascinated by the arrangement that a school kid could have a baby and was open about it.

Drake shook his head at Soph's question. "Actually he hasn't returned from the lake just yet with that girl he likes. Even though they met a little after dinner today. And yes, we usually are, but I gave him a break tonight."
Drake looked over at the next person who came in. "Hey, Jaccy." he teased. "We're just talking about Aiden and his girl, of whom has yet to return from the lake. What about you?"
Then Daley came. He grinned. He had called them all idiots and they didn't know. Although, he still called himself one. "There isn't an occasion. Unless you count awaiting for Aiden to return to bombardier him with questions Anyway, how's Cece doing?"

Jac looked at Drake as he spoke. It seemed strange indeed to not see Aiden with him but she was happy he wasn't there, gave her a good opportunity to get to know Drake better ... she hoped. She smiled dumbly at Drake and shrugged.
"Ask dear Soph here," she said slowly, dreamily, "she's the one who practically wakes up every girl in the dorm when she get's up." She smiled at Sophie. She was exaggerating and teasing Sophie.

Hearing Jac's arrival she wondered if her light footfall had somehow woken her up. "Oh it's never too early for him to be galavanting off, doing something ludircous," She smiled at Drake teasingly "you know it's true." Turning to Jac she added apologetically "sorry if I woke you, I did try to be quiet, honest," She smirked giving her a wink. About to explain why she was awake at such an ungodly hour she was interupted by the arrival of another Gryffindor girl, waving cheerfully as she'd mostly forgotten the tensions of exams, or at least put them behind her for now, Sophie rolled her eyes as Jac explained the situation smirking as the gathering gradually grew, though she feared her arising had caused all the others to wake too. Feeling a little guilty Sophie countered Jac's last teasing comment with a roll of the eyes, "I'm never going to here the end of this am I?" She smiled she wanted dearly to explain why she was actually awake but feared the others wouldn't really understand; particularly Drake who wouldn't even care about exams.

Jac's smile stretched across her face as she shook her head. "Never," she laughed and rocked back and forth. When she calmed down she looked around at everyone. They were staring at her. She laughed again and said, "what?" She didn't see anything wrong with chortling as boisterously as she was. The thought didn't even cross her mind that she might do a Sophie on the whole house; otherwise she would have teased Soph about it a little more.
Jac took a few deep breaths and stopped laughing but she continued to smile as though she knew something the others didn't. "So, Drake," she said as she turned to face him and warm the her other side by the fire, "what is Aiden doing at the lake and what girls has he got with him? I hope he doesn't run into any trouble, like prefects. That should happen while I'm there to see it." She laughed but quieter this time, then she added, with a shocked look on her face, "or worse, the Ministry. I hear they're really cracking down on 'law breaker'." She shivered to think about what they might do to a couple of students if they were caught. The stories her father had told her began to fill her head, each worse then the one before.

Drake laughed at Jac's comment. "Well, waking people is my specialty, but I do it on purpose." he grinned. "Like this morning, I went around parading in nothing but my boxers playing loud music to wake up all the other guys in my dorm for Hogsmeade. If it wasn't for me, Aiden wouldn't have met his 'Cinderella', as he calls her. And actually, from what he told me so quickly earlier, she ran into him running from some dude she didn't like."
He looked at Jac as she asked her question. "Well," he hesitated for the first time ever. "He's just meeting her to talk, I think. And I'm not suppose to say who or what house she's from or the fact that she's the opposing team's Keeper." he added in the last line, just to see if they caught the hint that the girl was from Slytherin. He'd give the Slytherins credit for this: They make their team-mates fast.

Jac caught his hint fast and gasped, appalled. "She's a Slytherin, isn't she?" she questioned very quickly, her hair turning an odd shade of deep purple. "It's that Malfoy girl, isn't it?" She spoke slower now, more thoughtful. She seemed to be an alright Slytherin, from what she had heard around the castle but Jac had never personally met the girl so there was little she could say to interject or protest. She shrugged and sighed, turning back to the fire.
After a moment's silence, however, Jac's curiosity got the better of her and she looked back to Drake. "You have told Aiden that it's dangerous for him to be going for a Slytherin, right?" she rested her chin oh her arm and looked at Drake, concerned. "Plus I'll never stop talking the mickey out of him. I hope he knows it otherwise where would the fun in teasing him about his taste be?" She chuckled and lay flat on the floor, crossing her ankles.

Drake nodded to Jac for her quick wit. "Yeah. She is. Slytherin blood, if you think about it." He nodded again at Jac for getting the Keeper's name right. "Maeve Malfoy, a fifth year Slytherin. Keeper for the team ever since her first year, remember? She's the one who kept blocking our good moves a few years back. The one who continuously teased us every time we missed it when we were younger." he added.
"Yeah, right after he told me, I did." Drake answered. "He says she's completely different. Says she's almost like an angel in disguise." he recalled Aiden saying something like that earlier. "The thing I don't get is that they both just met today, and within an hour, they say they loved each other. Or, liked, but I seriously doubt that Aiden just likes the girl. Yet, all he did was help her get away from someone and he fell for her pretty hard."

Jac grinned at Drake and began laughing as he told more and more of that day's going-ons. It seemed to be a very Aiden thing to do but Jac wasn't going to say that aloud. "Yeah," she chuckled, "she's pretty good. But not as good as me. Remember that bludger I sent her way last game. Would have hit her straight off her broom too if those two buffoons they call Beaters hadn't saved her."
Jac laughed again and stretched out her legs, leaning on the palms of her hand. "Good times, though, huh?" she said absently. "Quidditch, I mean." She stared into the fire that roared next to her. "I'm gonna miss it when I leave school. I'm actually very jealous. Grace is going to play professionally, never doing anything else but play. Lucky brick!" she chuckled and looked at Sophie. Jac knew that Grace and Soph were friends, Grace had often said so, and it made her smiled more broadly now at Sophie.
