It was three in the morning and not a sound was to be heard within the Gryffindor common room other than the occasional loud snore from one of the dorms and the crackle of the fire in the grate. The only source of light provided from the fire which cast shadows along the room.
Cassy turned the page of her book, she was far from asleep. It had felt as though she had drank a litre of coffee, but that was just her, she was one for the night time.

Ian closed the portrait door behind him gently, hearing a soft click and quietly walking toward the boy's staircase. As always, he chose this late at night to return from whatever mischievous business he was up to, because everyone was usually fast asleep.
Today was different and Ian froze in place as he heard the sound of pages flipping idly. Pausing, wondering if he could make it up the staircase without been seen briefly, he turned around only to face a girl he'd never seen before.
Letting out a resigned sigh, he moved over and sat down beside her. "Good book?" He said, finally.

Cassy had heard the portrait swing open but hadn't turned her head, even the soft carpet couldn't quite sound out the soft tapping of feet heading towards the dorms. Her attention had been on the same line of the book for the best part of thirty minutes now, she had been sitting there in a day dream rather then lost in the words of a book. But now she had been disturbed she couldn't even remember what nonsense she was dreaming up, meaning it was probably a better thing someone was in the room with her, she was starting to think this was a ghost school, that, or everyone seemed to be somewhere she wasn't.
Turning her head as someone sat beside her she took in the boys apperance, she had seen him around every now and then, well she had only been here just over a week so she could be mistaking him for a million other people. But still, there was a vauge familiar pressance about him.
"No not really, not at all. It all sounds like a big bit of nonsense really, i can't understand a word. Who ever this man was had a very odd sense of writting. I think his name is - she flipped to the front page giving it a quick glance - William Shakespere? Oh i have no idea.. it was something i found under the bed".
She smiled with a laugh and gave a small shrug, she was begining to get sick of introducing herself but one more time wouldn't hurt. Hell, she'd done it at least four times today, holding out her hand to shake his.
"I'm Cassy, most people call my Kitty though. I take it you're not one for sleeping like most sane people either?"

Trinity was sitting on one of the couches whose back faced Cass. The other Gryffindors hadn't noticed her yet and she felt horrible for eavesdropping, so she got out of the couch and walked over to the two, sitting in front of them.
"Shakespear, huh. That's pretty difficult reading." she murmured to Cass, hoping that she wasn't intruding or anything.
She crossed her legs and put her hands in her lap, yawning and covering her mouth afterwards. She had three cups of coffee today, and they were just putting their effects on her, so she wasn't drowsy, just...weak.

Her eyes flickered upwards as she saw a figure move from the chair infront of her, how she hadn't seen anyone before hand she did not know, she had been sitting there long enough. Watching the girl as she walked over and made herself comfortable Cass smiled.
"Yeah just a tad, don't know why i bothered quite honestly"
Her tone was a laugh, knowing that the girl probably heard Cassy already introduce herself she though she best do it once again just to be sure, and that way she could find out her name in return.
"I'm Cassy, but im guessing you already heard that?"
She grinned.

"Room for one more?" Stumbling down from the Girl's Dormitory, Hariku made her clumsy appearance in ducky pj pants and a black tank top. She smiled at the others as she sat down on the floor with the pillow she carried firmly in her lap, ignoring the available seating.
She crinkled her nose at the mention of Shakespeare as she looked from face to face. Trinity and Cassy she recognized from class and the dorms, but Ian she didn't. "I'm Hariku, if you wondered." She added as an after thought.
The night was getting lighter it seemed as the hours got closer to dawn. She hadn't really slept at all, but it didn't show. She normally didn't sleep much anyways.

Trnity stiffled a little laughter. "Yes Cass, I've heard your introduction already. I'm Trinity." she answered, grinning as well.
Her mood was pretty good today, for she aced all of her tests. Whopee for another one of her goals. She turned her head and saw Hariku getting comfortable. She wasn't particularly in good terms with that girl...not at all. She gave the other student a cold look, turning away stiffly. That girl is way too much like a punk... she noted in her mind.
"I sure know who you are." Trinity snapped. Hariku got on her nerves. She was a pretty nice girl, but her punky looks tipped Trinity off. Maybe they could become friends...but that would be later down the rode.
As Trinity snapped, she thought it sounded too harsh, and added, "Well anyways, I've heard rumors of you before."

Cassy raised her eyebrow at the coldness coming from Trinity to Hariku but didn't say anything, for she didn't have a bad oppinion of either girl at the moment nor would she like to. Hariku's hair intreged Cassy, yet having been through a smiliar stager herself already she respected the girls nobility to be her own person.
"Nice to meet you both, please tell me you heard the introduction already?"
Cassy smiled with a laugh looking towards Hariku, she didn't think she could introduce herself one more time, the novelty was deifnaltey wearing of if she did say so.
"Do either of you read much?"
Cassy said trying to force conversation away from an arguement.

"Rumors? Oh joy. I love being Famous." She said with a distinct glint in her brown eyes as she grinned. "Mind making that Introduction one last time?" She said with a wink at Cass. "Nah, just punking you." She giggled. She glanced at Trinity from the corner of her eye and sighed exasperatedly. "I read some but its not the top of my list." She shrugged, glancing out the window and shaking back her hair.
Then, she turned her attention on Trinity. "Anything interesting?" She asked, referring to the rumors. She hoped that whoever might be talking about her at least came up with something good. She scrutinized the girl, scrunching her nose slightly. She had never really talked to her or really paid attention to her but it didn't bother her if someone was unsure of her.

Trinity answered Cass in a light air of elegance. "Of course I read." A scowl formed on her face when Hariku asked if there were any interesting rumor. I can make interesting rumores about you... she thought with a smirk.
She sighed, irritated. "Interesting rumors? Yes, they are highly interesting, but I don't want to make you cry." she mocked, making a cute puppy face look at Hariku.

Post by Elijah Ellerby on Apr 6, 2007 21:27:03 GMT
Elijah hummed to himself as he came down the spiral staircase from the boy's dormitory, twirling his wand in his hand as he had just finished magicking away all the mess his roommates insisted on leaving each night before falling asleep.
Incidentally he was awake because he had hoped to find a lingering house elf in the common room so that he could question the creature on why Elijah was having to do its job for it, but instead he found the fire bright and roaring - usually it had extinguished itself by three in the morning - with several girls crowded around it. Elijah was surprised to see Ian among them, having sworn to have just seen him slumbering in his messy bed just a moment ago. Must have been clothes shoved under the blankets again... typical, he thought with a small smile.
'Rumours?' Elijah said curiously at a girl he recognised to be called Trinity Hicks, walking over to the table to retrieve yet more evidence of the house elves' recent laziness in the form of abandoned books. However, these books appeared to not be the usual wizarding ones, but muggle fiction of all things. 'Chaucer? Wordsworth?' Elijah mouthed as he picked them up, inspecting the titles before placing them in a neat stack (he had always been plagued by a need for organisation). He looked from face to face curiously, silently asking what he was apparently missing out on.

"Who, me? Cry? You must be on something." Hariku laughed mockingly as she clicker her tongue on the roof of her mouth. "Reading is for dweebs. No, not really." She said in a sarcastic tone. Hariku glanced up at Elijah. "Rumors about yours truly." She said with a careless shrug. It wasnt in her nature to care about such stupid things.

Trinity smirked. "Good, then I won't have to tell them to you, Hariku" she snapped at Hariku. Trinity got up from her seat and walked to a spot by the fire where she was far away from Hariku. Something irritated Trinity about the girl, but the punky looks was not the case. She shook her head and smiled at Elijah.
"You must be Elijah Ellerby." she said, giving him a warm smile before settling down by the fire, her head leaning against the wall. Trinity's eyes flicked with the fire, which was making her sleepy. I might as well just fall asleep here... she thought, yawning. She covered her mouth to stiffle her yawn and let her eys scan the room.

Elijah raised his eyebrows quizically at Hariku, but the colourful looking girl was soon interupted by another who was now stood by the fire. 'Yes, how do you know who I am? And who are you might I ask? I'm afraid I'm not terribly good with faces.' He asked softly, looking at her with patient eyes. He was, of course, suddenly quite anxious as to why this girl knew who he was by sight when he spent nearly all his time doing his best to keep a low profile. And Elijah was, if fact, very good with faces, which only annoyed him further as he did not recognise her.
It appeared Hariku and the other girl were both participating in some sort of easy going bickering, and so he wandered over to the rest of the group and sat down on the arm of Ian's chair, making himself comfortable.

Hariku sighed darkly, throwing Tinity a "What? Are you three or something?" look. Trinity was really starting to get on her nerves. Thankfully, it didn't seem like it bothered her on the outside. She rolled her eyes thoughtlessly and turned to look at Elijah with curious. "Honestly, I don't really recognize you." She said and bit the inside of her cheek, a habit of hers when she was thinking.
