Russell was worried for a moment that he had gone too far but Andie hardly gave a notice to what he had said. Obviously it hadn't influenced her that much. He watched Andie walk off and stared at the spot where she disappeared.
Shaking himself back to where he was, Rus smiled at Allison. " 'Why?' did you say?" he asked. "Ah, yes, well, that's not important at the moment." He faced the shelf, and continued, "what is is that I find that book." Turning his head slightly, "will you help me please?"

Allison inattentively took a glance up at Andie as she departed, deciding that Russell must have said something to set her off. She turned her eyes back to him with a glare. "What does it look like I'm doing?" she said impatiently. "I might be a little more motivated if I knew what this was even for." she pointed out.
"I don't think it's here." She said with a sigh, stepping back to look at the whole shelf.

Aly smiled shaking her head at the scene going on in front of her. She left her chair and stood quietly behind the two Ravenclaws. After a few moments she spoke, "What exactly are you looking for? Maybe I can help you."

Russell growled loudly in frustration. "Agh!" he said, "it's got to be here!" Russell stood up and back in one motion before looking at Allison. With a straight face, Russell said, "she fancies me, you know." He wasn't quite sure why he told her but, he couldn't stop now, he continued, "I'm not sure how I feel about her but the more and more I see her, she get's to me. I'm not sure what to do."
He looked ahead of him and sighed. The change of topic was welcomed. They had looked everywhere for his book and not found it. It was either out or not here. But you would think that it was a very common book. Obviously not. But now more pressing matters consumed his thoughts, how do I tell her if I don’t know how I feel?
Then a slytherin girl waltzed over and offered her help, Russell smiled at her and said, shaking his head, "it's just a book. And I think we're pretty sure it's not here!" This intrusion was unexpected and abrupt but Rus could handle it. Anyone but her ...

"Poor girl." She uttered, shifting somewhat awkwardly, unsure of why exactly he was telling her this. Before she could say anything else, an unexpected voice was heard from behind. Allison nearly jumped in surprise, however as she turned around, she managed to keep her composure. She glanced over the girl with a raised eyebrow, almost immediatley not trusting the Slytherin. Allison gazed over at Russell, slightly relieved that he had spoken before her. Knowing Allison, she couldn't have resisted speaking her mind. Not that we need your help.

Aly shrugged. "Ah well, didn't hurt to ask. I'm Alyson Gravestone by they way, but please, call me Aly. I hate being called Alyson." She looked at the two enquiringly, "What are your names?" Then recognizing the look of distrust on the other girl's face added, "Oh and don't worry, I'm not like the rest of the idiots in my house. Neither is my little sister. We don't believe in judging a book by it's cover; or in our case a student by their House." She smiled reassuringly.

Allison crossed her arms. What's wrong with Allison? she asked herself, though she managed to bite her tounge. Deciding not to answer her question, she spoke again, forcing her voice to become calm. "Good to know." she said. Truthfully, half of her was glad to know, but the other half still didn't trust her.

Aly smiled slightly, she could tell this girl still didn't quite trust her, and for some reason she seemed a bit miffed that Aly hated being called Alyson. Well she'd feel the same way if her best friend had died in her arms, and her friend's last words were 'I will always be with you Alyson' she thought bitterly, however on the outside her face did not betray her emotions. Her expression was calm, yet friendly and open. "Well, you can trust me or not. Tha's your choice." she replied brightly, "But as to why I don't like to be called Alyson, well trust me... you don't want to know... she trailed off a hint of sadness in her voice.

As soon as the slytherin girl said that she hated being called Alyson, Russell sniggered and looked at Allison. He could see the subtle change in her soft features and waited for all hell to break loose. But it didn't, she controlled her disdain very well.
Next, Rus was hit by a large wave of tension. He ran a hand through his long hair and looked somewhere between the two girls. "Okay," he muttered, "good to meet you, Aly, and I'm ..." He began to walk backwards, towards the ending of the shelves they were standing between. " ... I'm going to go ..." He looked around and pointed to the other side of the next shelf, "over here!" He quickly ducked there and busied himself with looking for any one of the books he needed.

"Ok..." Allison said, her face screwed up questionly. She still didn't understand. A part of her also wondered if she could be trusted, why had Alyson been sorted into Slytherin? But she wasn't going to press further, simply because she wasn't all too interested.
She slightly noticed Russell's quiet laughter, but didn't acknowledge him until she detected some urgencey in his manner. She furrowed her eyebrows, her forehead wrinkling in query. This brought her mind back to what they were originally doing, before the girl's intrusion. "I don't suppose you're ever going to tell me why you need this book so badly?" she asked, hoping he could even hear her between shelves.

Russell was tapping his chin with one hand while supporting his elbow with the other. He was searching the top shelves when Allison joined him again. "Ah yes," he mumbled, "well, actually no! Sorry, but it is imperative that I do find it." Russell laughed sheepishly taking his listed out, "that and Magick Most Evile. Hmm?" he said, turning the list over in his hands. "No author though."
