Nicola sat right in the middle of one of the busiest corridors, her legs crossed and a puzzled expression on her face.
Having been at Hogwarts for quite a while, she would never admit that she was slightly lost. On her way to the Divination Tower, she had taken a wrong turn and found herself in what seemed to be a hallway filled with seventh years.
None of which were all too eager to help.
Sighing and playing with her bottom lip, she stared at the Hogwarts: A History open to the map in front of her. Not realising at all that she was looking at it backwards.

Maria was walking along a busy corridor when she noticed a girl sitting right in the middle of the corridor, and she seemed a bit lost. People were going around her as though she weren't there. Maria walked up to the girl and noticed that she was about the same age as herself. "Hello there," she said looking down at the girl. She noticed the book and quickly noticed that the map that the book was opened to was backwards. "Umm...that would probably be more helpful if you turned it around," she said with a friendly smile.

Poppy was bouncing down the hall, a small notebook and rather large pink quill in her hand. Her hair was in two long braids that bounced as she skipped along. As she skipped she hummed the tune to "rain, rain, go away." It was the only reason she was inside. The stupid rain had made everything muddy and she didn't want to get her new sneakers dirty. They were pretty, pink and white, Poppy's favorite.
As she turned the corner she could see two girls, one looking very lost. Obviously she didn't realize she was one hallway away from the entrance hall. Poppy noticed that they were both older, and maybe she could help them.
"Hi!" Poppy said very loudly, as she skipped up to the girls. "I'm Poppy, and you're lost!" She said with ha smile, twirling one of her braids. "I know where we are, and I can show you the way!" Poppy said with a devilish grin.

Nic frowned as a voice reached her ears and looked up toward the girl staring down at her kindly. "Turn it around?" She repeated a bit wonderingly, before smiling a little and following direction.
It took a minute for her to realise what she had just done, but as soon as she had she let out a light laugh and shook her head. "Ohhh, I see!" Blushing slightly, she added, "I thought the map was written in some sort of ancient language."
Standing up and folding the book under her hands, she smiled at the girl vaguely recognizing her from the sorting ceremony five years ago. "Though, I forgot to mention I can't read maps at all," she said with wide-eyes. "And I have no idea how to get back - "
A short girl, one who Nic recognised as Poppy, chose that moment to approach them, her dirty sneakers trailing mud all over the hall. She looked a bit mischevious and Nic smirked a little. "Are you sure you know where we are? Or... Perhaps you can read a map?"
Nic opened her book once more, showing the girl the spindly passages on the parchment brightly. Sorry. Modified

Maria laughed a little. "Well, I guess you know now. So where are you trying to get to? Oh, and just so you know, my names Maria." she asked with the friendly smile still on her face. Maria just then realized that someone else was there. She turned to a girl, who couldn't have been more than 12 maybe 11. "Hello," she said giving the girl a stange look, just realizing that she had said something.

Poppy put her hands on her hips and pouted. "Of course I know how to read a map! Geeze!" Poppy retorted snatching the rather large book out of the older girl's hands. "I'm not ten you know!"
The book was about as big as he head, and very heavy. Still Poppy struggle to hold the book in her arms as she looked at it, not giving away the pain slowly riding up her skinny arms.
"We are here!" Poppy pointed to a place, a place definitely not where they were. "Where do you want to go?" She asked the girl, taller than her. She looked at the other girl. Just a glance as she said hello. "Hi." Poppy said. "Do you know where we are?" Poppy had to make sure this girl wasn't going to ruin her plan. "Because I do!" Poppy said, twirling her hair again, smiling sweetly.

Maria couldn't help but laugh at the younger girl's behavior. "Uh, yeah, I know where we are. We've been here for five years now I think we can find our way around," she said unable to keep the sarcasm out of her voice no matter how hard she tried. She couldn't believe this girl was going to try and give directions. "But by all means, show us where we are," Maria said stifling a laugh. She wasn't being intentionally rude to the younger girl, but this situation was just too funny.

Poppy pouted, her large blue eyes became wide and watery. Fine! she thought. Poppy didn't like sarcasm. It wasn't nice.
"We are here!" Poppy pointed again to the map, to the totally different area than she had pointed to the first time. "and all you have to do is go here, then here, then here, and then here, to get HERE!" Poppy pointed to the Entrance hall. "Easy, huh!?" Her finger had flown over the map so fast she doubted either of the girl's had caught her 'planned path.'
"So, if you will kindly follow me! I'll lead the way!" Poppy shoved the book into the older Hufflepuff's hands, and took the Gryffindor girl's hand in her own.
"How old are you?" Poppy said with a big smile as she led the girl, still clasping her hand, down the corridor, off in the completely wrong direction.
