Autumn ran into the room, realizing she would be late for her own class. The creatures she had placed on her large desk in cages squeaked and squawked at her as she came in, cheeks red. Checking the old pocket watch she kept on her desk, she breathed a sigh of relief. she still had five minutes in which to collect herself, and her lesson.
Of course she knew what the lesson would be on today. A rather large friend cawed at her from its cages. "Oh, please." She snapped at it, turning to walk around her desk, at which she plopped down. The lesson she had designed for today was not her first thought. Autumn had thought to take the children out to the lake and actually have them get in the lake and search around for certain creatures. However, at the last minute, Autumn had changed her mind. Well, rather, the horrendous storm playing outside had changed her mind.
As Autumn sat at her desk and smiled, although if there was anyone in the room, they wouldn't have seen it. She realized that she could not be seen in back of the cages. She laughed silently and shuffled some papers. She had written cheat notes for herself on the bird in the cages. The six cages were all of bright copper. Over them each Autumn flung a bright orange fabric. She would remove the fabric later, but for now the claustrophobic atmosphere calmed the birds. Also, Autumn thought the color was very stylish and added spunk to the dull room. The orange color very suiting to her personality.
Now for the students to arrive. She was glad no one had beat her to the classroom, but she didn't like late students. Autumn hoped that her first experience with house points was to give them and not take them away.

Sarie was carrying too many books with her. They all wouldn't fit in her bag so she carried 4 of them. Now she was late for Care OF Magical Creatures. She ran up the halls and a staircase then reaching the door she lost her balance from all of the books. She fell into the class room hoping no one was inside. She looked up to see the teacher. She's new.She thought before standing up. Then she started to gather her books. "Sorry about that." Then she sat her books down on the desk.

What in the world? She wondered as she sat in the library catching up on some reading for transfiguration. Sighing, she took her pencil and flipped it upside down to get the eraser side, removing the last words she wrote she changed it to the right one. She was disappointed that she hadn't known the answer on the top of her head. As she flicked her wrist she noticed her watch and the time on it. ::Crap:: she she thought to herself as she got up and threw everything into her bag. It was time for COMC and she was running short on time.
It was a very close call, when she finally stepped foot in the room. She wasn't late and that's all that mattered to her. Throwing her bag down on the ground next to a seat up front Lexi sat down. Glancing up though she saw a large cage on the professors desk. She wondered what they'd be working with today and hoped that it wasn't dangerous. Her face looked suspicious as she watched the cage.

Girty loved Care of Magical creatures. It was an opportunity to go outside instead of being locked up in a room like all her other lessons. So naturally she was disappointed when she noticed that they would not be outside as a room had been assigned to them, although his disappointment soon faded away when she looked out of her window. The black clouds filled the sky, the trees of the forest were bending over in the wind and rain hammered down.
So feeling happy that she would be reaming warm and dry Girty walked down the corridors of the castle making her way the to classroom. Every time she passed a window it only made her feel better that she was not outside trying to keep the rain out of her eyes and shout over the roaring wind. She had had to do that in her first year and it was not fun.
Pushing open the door to the room Girty looked around and saw the professor and a cage on the desk. With a small wave and a smile to accompany it Girty walked towards an empty table acknowledging the other two students with a small hello. Sitting down Girty looked back at the cage with a frown knitted across her brow as her imagination ran wild on what could be in the cage.

Autumn jumped up to help the poor girl. "Lot of homework?" She asked, handing the girl her transfiguration book which had skidding halfway through the classroom. "It's quite alright, but here's a trick." Out from her robe pocket, Autumn whisked her wand. "I was never any good with charms but..." Autumn swished and flicked just as she was taught her third year when she had the same problem as the small student. "There, the wonders of magic." She said with a smile. The girl's bag was now big enough to fit all her books, plus all her scrolls, quills, and made a large muffin or two. However, the outside size of the bag had stayed the same. Smiling Autumn gestured for the girl to sit down.
As she turned to go back to her desk another student quickly stepped into her classroom. "Well, it seems we are all short on time today." She said to the elder Ravenclaw. "Myself included. Take a seat." she added welcoming, heading back toward her desk. Instead of disappeared again behind the large cages, Autumn leaned a hip on the desk, resting her weight. Knowing she was there, the first specimen they would be studying gave a large SQUAWK! and shook the cage. Hushing it, Autumn noticed a third student hurry in. Returning the friendly wave from the older Hufflepuff, Autumn looked around the classroom, and then glanced over to her pocket watch. "A few more minutes I'd say." She said with a smile, happy to begin soon.

Her walk was confident, as Erys slunk down the hall like a cat prowling its territory. If she was going to be the only Slytherin in Care of Magical creatures, so be it. She'd strut her stuff, as always, with or without her comrades by her side. To be a Slytherin was to be strong. Despite pining over both her best friends' absences, she could manage without them. That didn't mean she'd like it, however. So one might imagine the sour mood Erys had adopted over the past week, lacking the presence of her closest familiars and left without any backup. Well, that wasn't entirely true. She had the Parkhurst twins, and the rest of her house for help. Not like an issue had aroused that needed help for, anyway..
Maintaining a cool expression as she waltzed into class, Erys dropped fluidly into her spot at the back, releasing her back and letting it fall to the floor. Drawing out her quill, ink jar, and parchment, she eyed the cage thoughtfully, curious as to the inhabitants inside. This lesson might prove more interesting than she had anticipated. Similar emotions were expected. Wouldn't you feel a little down if you found yourself cut off from your circle of friends? You sure would. So cut her some slack.

Nikole walked into the room, without the enthusiasm she would have had for other classes. COMC had never really been a subject that had been as easy for her as Charms or Transfiguration even. She just wasn't good with animals. Glancing nervously at the cages on the teacher's desk, Nikole quickly walked to the front of the room and sat down beside Alexis.
She was determined to do well in COMC, and she would let the fact that most animals didn't like her stop her from that. She got her things ready for class, then looked over at Alexis. "Hey," she said with a bright, happy smile completely covering the anxiety she was feeling about this class.

Alexis was so happy to see a familiar face in the class. It had been a while it seemed since she'd seen Nikole, they just seemed to keep missing each other. It was great to see her come over and sit next to her. When she said hey, Alexis smiled 'Hey there how are you Nikole?'
She made sure not to be too noisy, last thing she wanted was to get a telling off for being loud in class. Chancing a glance at the front of the room it didn't look like she was going to be told off any time soon so she continued 'I can't wait to see what's under that sheet it should be interesting. I just heard it squawk or something.'
Eying the cage she let her imagination run wild while waiting for Nikole to say something.

Autumn waited a few minutes more. A rustle of feathers came from a cage further down. Autumn looked at the meager class. Not as many as she had hoped for, but then again, even when Autumn was a student, Care of Magical Creatures didn't have a waiting list.
"Well then," Autumn said, stepping forward from her desk. "Quiet everyone." She said, although no one was really talking. She thoguht it was a teacher-like thing to say. She smiled.
"I guess we should get started. I could be waiting forever for more students. But I don't think my friends would like me very much." She said, acknowledgeing the cages. One of them gave a shudder and a flap sound was heard. "I believe they would like to met you. One at a time I believe." Autumn said with a smile, leaning against a front desk no one had taken.
"Can anyone take a guess at to what could possibly be in the cages behind me?"

Late, as usual Angel walked in today not really seeming to care about her faux pas. Today was just another day for her one filled with something as mundane as taking classes. Oh how she longed to be out in the real world away from the trials and tribulations of being forced to learn what the establishment shoved down their throats. Which one of the schools tortures would she be subjected to today? Ah, yes it was Care of Magical Creatures.
Rolling her eyes, she walked into the room something was rattling around in a cage and Angel eyed it suspiciously. She wasn't a fan of creatures especially ones she couldn't see. This was such a waste of time for her. Shaking her head, she looked around trying to decipher what seat would suit her today. That's when she spotted Erys.
Perfect, moving through the room she found her friend and sat down next to her. She still wasn't all that happy but at least there was someone else in the room she didn't despise to bits. Smiling she said, "So what have we got here?"
