Acelin had come to the Great Hall for breakfast because she had many times been told she was getting too skinny and 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day'. She had many times been told that too. She Ace's happy go lucky attitude told her, 'why not'.
She sat in the middle of the long table, half way between the door and half way to the staff table. Here she could see everything and everyone. She smiled at everyone around her and then turned her mind to her food. "Right," she thought, beginning to be overwhelmed by all the options.
She took a deep breath. Frowning slightly, she reached for a piece of toast. She nibbled on it while she continued to look around at all the food. There was just so much, she'd never be able to choose just one thing to eat. That's it! she smiled happily, I don't have to choose just one thing. Right, what do I want? She smiled at the people around her, happy at her discovery and continued to nibble at her toast contemplating what to eat first.

Ashton smiled at the girl seated a bit further down the table, and called down to her, "If you're trying to decide what to eat first, I'd recomend the eggs. They're particularly delicious today. If you like eggs." He scooted down to where she was sitting, taking his plate of bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and smaller plate of biscuits and gravy with him. "Hi, I'm Ashton. Ashton McLane." He greeted her shyly

Rylan let out a loud yawn, running a hand through his untidy, dark hair. He was the first one up in the boy's dorm, which was strange. He wasn't known to be an early riser. He had dressed in his uniform, shoving on a pair of black converse shoes before heading out of the common room. He blue and silver striped tie was hanging loosely around his neck. He still had yet to tie it and would most likely ask someone for help. He never could do it right, even after 5 years of wearing one.
He entered the Great Hall to see it was still on partially full. He really was early. Stifling another yawn, he headed towards the Ravenclaw. Most of his friends were still asleep, but he did see someone he knew. Rylan sat down next to the girl, giving her a grin. " Hey Ace...You look pretty happy for it bein so early." He commented, taking a piece of toast from the center of the table. " What's up?" He asked, taking a large bite.
He noticed a boy on the other side of Ace. He was in the same year as Rylan. " Hey." Rylan greeted him with a small wave. " Ashton, right?" He asked, perking a dark eyebrow and hoping he was right. " I'm Rylan."

Hearing the voice, Ashton looked up to see a fellow Ravenclaw join them. "Um...yeah." He said shyly, surprised that the boy knew his name. As the boy sat down, Ashton couldn't help but snicker quietly at the fact that his tie was hanging loosely about his neck. Ashton himself used to have the same problem! "Need some help with your tie?" He asked geturing towards the garment.

Ace looked up the table and saw a new face at the Ravenclaw table. She smiled at him and looked towards a large bowl of scrabbled eggs. "Oh thanks," she said and added a smile. When he introduced himself, Ace smiled and said, "hi Ashton, good to meet you. I'm Acelin, but call me Ace." Her accent was particularly heavy this morning and hher name just rolled off her tongue.
She laughed when she remembered her encounter with Alexis and dished herself some scrambled eggs. "And what goes better with egg then bacon!" she giggled, winking at Ashton and added a few strips of bacon to her plate.
Then someone sat next to her. "And a good morning to you too, Rylan," she giggled. "Don't you know I'm always happy!" She winked at Rylan and scooped some egg up. She ate the scoop and watched Rylan introduce himself to Ashton. She swallowed quickly and laughed, "you look half asleep. It's not that early," she pointed out, taking another bit of her breakfast.

Rylan laughed before sticking his tongue out at Ace. " Well, we have been in the same classes for a while but still...I don't know everyone in our year. There's like a gazillion of us. Plus Ashton's new. " He said, scopping some eggs on to his plate. He finished his toast in two more bites and looked back at Ashton. He laughed. " Um, actually, that would be great. I mean, it's been like 5 years and I still can't do this right." He said with a sigh, gesturing at his tie.

An expression of confusion crossed Ashton's face. "Huh? What are talking about? I just tranferred here from Beauxbatons a few weeks ago. I don't even know you people. We've never even met. The first person I met here was Maxi, then I met Rakki, then I met Ashlee."

Acelin looked at Rylan's tie, chewing her mouthful. Father would be so disappointed it he saw that, she giggled to herself. "I could help you with that," she said after she swallowed, "can I do it, please? Oh, if that's alright with you two, of course." She looked from the one to the other, smiling cheerfully. She loved making ties and loved showing off how well she could do it.

Rylan nodded. " I know. You're new here." He said before putting a spoonful of eggs into his mouth. " I guess it's just hard to remember sometimes because there's always so many people around. Anyways, how do you like it here so far?" He asked Ashton.
He looked over at Ace. " Well..um. I don't care who ties it. As long as it gets tied because I'm really bad at it." Rylan said with a small grin.

Acelin clapped her hands and giggled, turning to Rylan. "Yay!" she giggled. She reached for his tie and stopped mid-reach, quickly adding, "oh, may I? Oh good!" She smiled when he replied and began to do his tie. The concentration was clear on her face, she even began to chew her lip. That was a habit she had gotten from her mother and it always made her smile.
She pulled the not tight, giggled all girly like, then loosened it. She smoothed out his collar and smiled. "There you go," she smiled, ing her head. She made a quiet brief laugh before turning back to her breakfast. Another mouthful and she poured herself some pumpkin juice. "Would you like some?" she offered to the two boys.

Ashton shrugged. "It's... okay I guess. The classes are okay. And the weather is certainly nicer, but I'm not so sure if the students are as tolerant..." He turned to Acelin when she offered him some pumpkin juice. "Thanks." He said, accepting the drink with a smile

Rylan nodded. " Yeah, it's gotta be pretty difficult adjusting to a new school. Hogwart's is probably a lot different from your other school." He said. " Once you get used to it, it's nice. Most of the kids are nice...excluding a few." He said, making a face. Every school had students that weren't exactly the friendliest. Rylan could think of a few right off the top of his head. But Hogwarts was like a second home to him now and you learned to love it.
He looked down at his tie after Ace had finished. " Thanks. I should just have you tie it for me everyday." He grinned. He took the glass of pumpkin juice she offered him and took a sip.

Acelin was particularly bright and bubbly this morning and giggled again when she gave Ashton his glass of pumpkin juice and when Rylan complimented her about the tie. Well, she took it as a compliment. She took up a small jar of Cranberry jam and began to spread a little onto her bacon. She looked up and saw the two boys staring at her, all of a sudden very self conscious. She giggled, blushing, and said, "what? It's good!"
She cut the piece of bacon in half and shoved it into her mouth. She chewed slowly, savouring the delightful taste. She closed her eyes and raised her shoulders in pleasure. She swallowed, lowered her shoulders quickly, "yummy! It's got that whole sweet and sour thing going." She winked at Rylan and giggled again.
She turned back to Ashton, picking up her glass of pumpkin juice and took a small sip. She asked in a very girly voice, "why wouldn't we be as tolerant, would you say?" She cocked her head and smiled at him. It was an odd thing to say so she just had to ask.

Ashton shrugged. "Well... It's not that..." he said squirming a bit uncomortably. God, why did he bring this up!? Because you're an idiot? replied a small voice in his head, Shut up! he snapped back silently. "I mean they're friendly enough it's just that when I tell them certain things... they... tend to treat me differently." He took a sip of juice avoiding Rylan and Acelin's gazes.
