Stupid, was the first word Milone thought of she plopped a pancake onto her plate and stared at it. The previous night's food exploits had been extremely successfull...too succesful. The thin, petite girl stared at the lump of flat brown bread on her plate and gave it a little poke with a her wand.
It wiggled.
Milone thought she would barf; but instead she pulled a small glass ad a pitcher of pumpkin juice towards her and poured it. Only splattering a couple drops onto the tablecloth she lifted her overfilled cup amd took a sip.

Torin picked out his own pancake, noticing the girl across from him was ignoring her own. Raising an eyebrow as she poked it with her wand, he leaned forward.
"They're safe," he said with a grin, "I've been eating them for years -" He cut himself off, watching the pancake with a grimace. "Did it just wiggle?"
He looked back at his own, a little more apprehensively than before. Deciding he wasn't quite in the mood for pancakes that day, he reached for the pitcher himself.
"Well, ususally they're safe..." He said a bit wonderingly, setting his wand down beside him and filling a goblet.

Milone grinned at the boy and shook her head. "They are--they are. It's just my wand, it's been acting up lately. Everything wiggles when it touches my wand. Look." She flicked the pumpkin juice pitcher with her goldenwood and it trembles and shattered, spraying orange liquid all over the table.
"Scourgify." She murmured, but her wand just shuddered and fell out of her hands.
It was then when she had a moment to look at the boy. He looked about a year or two older than her, but not much. The bright blue patch on his black robes revealed he was a Ravenclaw--and not a bad looking one at that.
She cringed at her pitiful wand and reached her hand across the table to the boy, offering a handshake. "Milone."

The juice had, of course, managed to spray all over his pancake - that after Milone's assurance he were about to eat. Smirking a bit at her wand, he took his own and cleaned the mess up with a simple flick of his wrist, repeating the spell.
"Torin," he said with a smile, gently shaking her hand. His eyes traveled to her wand amusedly, before he pushed his plate away. It seemed fate decided he wasn't to eat pancakes that morning.
"About your wand," he said with an arched brow. "There's this shop in Diagon Alley, you know. In fact, run by a Ravenclaw - the only reason I'm aware of it." He smiled, tapping his fingers on the table, watching the juice in his glass vibrate. "That troublesome wand of yours can be fixed good as new there, I'm well sure of it." He said brightly.

Milone blushed at the slight smile on Torin's face as he cleaned up her pumpkin-y mess with a careless swoosh of the wand. Her eyebrows arched interestdly as he said his next words, trying to forget about her wand goof.
"Really?" She asked, running her fingers through her thick, tangled dark curls. "I'll be sure to look out for it next Hogsmeade weekend. Thanks." She smiled and grabbed an apple out of a glass bowl beetween them. It seemed moderately safe, now that her wand had twinged to a halt.

Nodding, Torin wrinkled his nose at the apples. "Really, the pancakes are much better." He stared forlornly at his own, before grinning.
"It's no problem, had a few mix up with my own wand, actually." He picked it up, rolling his fingers over it fondly. "Works as good as new, now."
His bookbag was slouching over on the bench, and he straightened it, eyes catching onto a piece of parchment. Picking it up with sudden realisation in his eyes, he looked over at Milone. "I've forgotten- the book I ordered for Divination is in." He scribbled something on it with his quill, before looking at Milone a bit shyly. He wasn't used to social gatherings.
"If you want, I can take you to the shop when I go to Hogsmeade to pick up my book?"

The apple tasted mushy and mild in her mouth--there was seeriously nothing safe to eat this morning. She set the fruit onto the table and her appetite fully dissapeared. Milone's wand was making little jumps and leaps, shooting off purple sparks that evaporated once they had been issued from the spitting thing.
"It's no problem, had a few mix up with my own wand, actually." He picked it up, rolling his fingers over it fondly. "Works as good as new, now. I've forgotten- the book I ordered for Divination is in. If you want, I can take you to the shop when I go to Hogsmeade to pick up my book?"
Milone blushed harder when she said this. She knew he couldn't possibly like her, as she was a mere fifteen year old...but even so. "Okay. When?"

Torin grinned, relieved and pulled out his agenda, as being a seventh year he had to string his time wisely. He frowned, flipping a few pages, before his face brightened. "Next Hogsmeade weekend seems fine, actually. Plus, I don't want them to take that book of mine off hold."
Looking at Milone with a friendly smile, he leaned over and pushed a plate of toast toward her. "Give it a try... And then tell me if it's safe." He laughed slightly. "I have Transfiguration last on Fridays," he added. "I can meet you after your last class?"

OOC: I noticed that there is like NOBODY below fifth year...so I'm a sxth year now, just btw. lol. XD
IC: "Sure... that's Charms. But I'll meet you by Transfiguration, if you want." Milone picked up the toast and eyed it suspiciously. "However, I'm not going to eat anything at this table for the next six months because it's fully disgusting. And that's that."
She grinned, and tossed a piece of toast back to Torin, wiping her newly buttered fingers on the napkin conveniently placed next to her place.

Torin watched the toast land on the table with a grin, sliding to a stop before it reached the edge. Shrugging, he nodded to the piece of toast. "Your loss." He said jovially, finding he wasn't so hungry anymore, himself. "Us men need our daily nutrition, however." Standing up, he slung his bag onto his shoulders and moved off the bench. The students around them were thinning, and he smiled, tossing his head in the direction of the double doors. "Walk you to your class?" He picked up his wand and sent hers a wary look. (( Lol. Well, older students are more fun to RP with anyway ))

"Why not, right?" Milone responded, shoving her misfit wand into the deepest pocket she had. "I have potions--how about you?" She slung her over-heavy bookbag across her right shoulder and and twirled a stray curl around her finger.
She stood and made her way, smiling shyly to Torin. They had really just met but he was so nice and easy to talk to she felt the connection right away. And it was wonderful.
OOC: GAhhhh! My muse has been stolen by a freakish wiggling monster! Catch him!

Walking her to the doors, Torin smiled brightly. "Ancient Runes for me..."
He paused, looking around for a brief moment, and then turning back to Milone. "How intent are you on making your first class?" Torin wasn't usually such an ambitious boy, but the first class of the year was always focused on introduction and review, things of which the boy was - quite frankly - better at doing on his own.
He, on the other hand, had never skipped a class in his entire Hogwarts schoolyear, and was a bit nervous as he said it. "There's this passage-way, see..." He had discovered it in his fourth year, but had never actually gone through, afraid of what was lingering behind.
He looked at her with raised eyebrows, wondering if she'd agree.

Milone coughed. She bit her lip, wishing and wishing that he hadn't said anything. Six years here and never a grade below an E, never a missed class. But Torin had been here a year more than she--maybe he had done it before.
The passageway seemed brilliant, and sounded awfully tempting. Still... "Uh. You really want to -uh- skip a class?" Super reply, Milone, just super, She thought, cringing inwardly.
I mean, of course she'd GO--but it sounded so... whatever.

Torin looked a bit relieved at her reluctance. He had, of course, tried to be a bit spontaneous, and was immediately glad that she was more similar to himself than he thought.
Grinning, he shook head head. "You're right, horrible idea. Wouldn't want to make a bad first impression." Holding open one of the doors for her, he stood back and let her through.
"I could always show you at a more appropriate time anyway," He smiled.

Up until Torin had denounced the idea she had been breathless and worried. Still, Milone didn't want to be the weight, the fun-sucker, the boring one. She bit her lip and scratched the bag of he leg with her boot, tying frantically to think of what to say.
"I guess--uh--I mean, if you really wanted to... it's just I've really never skipped a class before, and like you said....impressions, and all,"
Ohgodohgodohgod...
"I'm okay with whatever, you decide." She tried to sound gracious as she said this, even though Milone knew herself it sounded stupid. At least it was a way of getting the heat of her, anyway...she really liked Torin, and things had been flowing so smoothly--she didn't want a fairly --uh-- trivial thing like this to ruin it.
