Jac strode confidently into the Great Hall for lunch. She was famished and could have eaten the silly first year that fell of his seat backwards straight into her path. But after due consideration she stepped over him and agreed with herself that he was far too skinny and would leave her with a terrible tummy ache.
She sat at the Gryffindor table and pulled every plate she could reach towards her. She began to take decent helpings of everything and piled them onto her plate. When her plate was full, Jac picked up her knife and fork and began eating. She had worked up quite an apatite with all that flying she had been doing.

Elijah's fork hovered in front of his open mouth, never having quite made it in before the Gryffindor boy had spotted Jac Biggerstall pelting into the Great Hall at the rate of knots, his eyes fully of steely determination and her hands set on her stomach, obviously trying to comfort it in its emptiness. He had been able to wish her good afternoon, but she was already shoving a massive cloud of mashed potato into her mouth at an alarmingly fast rate. How could someone eat so quickly?! Jac obviously wasn't human!
'Hungry?' He asked with a half-concealed smirk as he lowered his fork, setting it down. He raised one eyebrow in amusement as she looked at him in shock, not having realised he'd been watching her. 'I think you could fit a bit more in their, Jac! Come on, put some effort into it!' He laughed, shaking his head in mock disappointment.

Jac finally found the gravy and drowned her mashed potato in it. She took another scoop while pouring herself some pumpkin juice when she heard someone talking. Her fork was in her open mouth but she stopped when she realised she was being stared at. And of course she was, she had her mouth wide open and a plate so heaped up with food you could have fed a small army.
She giggled with her eyes twinkling playfully, lowering her fork and staring back at Elijah. "I certainly can," she teased, "a great deal more then most." She shot him a wink and took her mouthful gladly. Having swallowed she took up her glass and sipped, eyeing Elijah's plat. "I see you're not much in the mood for eating today, Ellerby?"

Elijah smiled. 'I've already eaten seven chicken drumsticks. I doubt there are even any left.' He cast his eyes toward the bowl he had originally found them in, nodding sagely upon finding only a few freshly stripped bones lying in the bottom. A small blush of colour came to his cheeks - since when had he had such a big appetite? He barely ate anything usually. It must have been great to be Jac and not get so full so fast - it looked like fun. 'Will probably have to get myself a spot on the Quidditch team and burn off the belly I'll probably wake up with.' He said sardonically, but not without a small laugh to prove he wasn't in any sort of mood.
Seeing that Jac's plate was already slowly emptying, he took it upon himself to quickly summon two bowls of chips, a plate of pork pies and a cauldron of steaming vegetable soup. 'Top-up for the lady?' He said gentlemanly, spreading his hands to show her the collection. 'The garlic bread is very good today, miss - it will go perfectly with the tomato relish and soup...' He gave a wry grin, dropping the act. 'So how is everything going in your little world, Jac? It's got to have a little more sunshine in it than mine. This ministry presence is depressing me loads.' He said with a grimace, picking up a bread stick to nibble.

Jac laughed at the mention of chicken drumsticks. "I didn't think you had it in you," she chuckled, swallowing hard, "to eat that many drumsticks." It amused her and his interest in her eating did too. She had always had a large capacity for food intake and had taken it into her stride.
Quidditch ... she thought, "probably not a bad idea. You do need to loose a few." She laughed teasingly and patted her stomach. Teasing Elijah was so easy and so enjoyable, she could have done it all day. "Besides, we could always use the players," she added absently while scooping the last crumbs off her plate and onto her fork.
"Chips?" she said thoughtfully, leaning back and stretching. She was no longer as hungry as she had been but still had some space to fill. Relaxing from her stretch, Jac nodded at his offer. But when the garlic bread was mention, Jac pulled a face and shook her head forcefully. "No thank you!" she said politely when she'd have rather picked up the loaf and thrown it at a Slytherin.
Shrugging, Jac stabbed her fork into a chip and lifted it to her eye level. "It's fine, I guess," she said absently, "the ministry could do worse, I suppose, and may still show that force but I'm basking in happy thought that they haven't done anything yet. And how about yourself? Why are you so bothered by their being here?" She was of a curious nature.
