Charles gritted his teeth as Dean pointed to him 'I attacked her only because I had no other choice!" he said suddenly. He hid the shock of himself speaking fairly well but his insides were realing with shock, he normally just sat quietly.

Dan could not believe what he was hearing. The Slytherin was arguing that this was the only way, over a stupid fancy. He needed to stop them from doing this again.
“There are always other ways. It is just that some people are to simple minded to think of any others! All three of you will serve detention with me tonight. We shall sort out this little problem. As for now I suggest you clean up this mess, while I take Miss Winchester to the hospital wing.”
Dan gave them all one last look of pure annoyance before bending down to pick up the unconscious Hufflepuff. He could think of no explanation of why a Hufflepuff would actually want to go out with a Slytherin. It was not right.

Dean shot a furious look at Charles "You will pay for this" he muttered to Charles. "If she's hurt...." he let his sentance drop off and ran after the Professer, trying to see if Ariane was okay.

But Bellatrix, who witnessed the whole thing, hadn't left. She walked straight up to Professor Hubbles, and demanded
"Are you saying that this boy should have let the raving lunatic attack his sister, and not do anything about it?" her emerald eyes showed her furious. "The attacker was one of my fellow Slytherins, but even I agree he was way out of line. He's the only one who deserves detention. He initiated the entire thing."

Narcissa stood behind her sister, witnessing the entire thing. "I agree sir. He had no choice but to do something." Narcissa added. She looked around and noticed a few straggelers who had also been watching.

Bella gave her sister a meaningful look. She was trying to convey the fact that Hubbles was the most Slytherin-like teacher ever, with a preference toward Hufflepuffs.

Narcissa read her sisters look. She had just remembered that she had something important to tell her, which was not involved with this. She pulled her sister off to the side and said one sentence. "Lady Whistledown is the new LauraDelaney/KatieMarie/Louise/Lindsey." She knew that was all she had to say.

Dan frowned as he heard another voice behind him. Turning around he saw two Slytherin’s questioning his decision. Repositioning the unconscious Hufflepuff in his arms Dan thought that it was best to quell any problems that may occur. However the rude children then stopped to have their own conversation while waiting for him, mumbling about something or other that was frankly bizarre, and he was unsure how people could understand each other when the talked that fast. With a small cough to get their attention once again Dan started to talk.
“All three will be punished as they were all involved. I agree that Mr Winchester did nothing wrong by defending his sister but he still broke the rules and if you break the rules you will be punished.“
Feeling rather satisfied with his own conclusion and believing their would be no counter argument Dan turned around once more and began to walk off to the hospital wing so the Hufflepuff could be treated.

Bella and Cissy strode away arrogantly muttering, "Hufflepuffs." under their breath.

Then Derek walked up to the two Black sisters. "Don't insult Hufflepuffs!" yelled Derek, pulling out his wand. He was ready to curse the sisters. For they had insulted Hufflepuff. He was only mad because, his great great grandfather, Cedric Johnson had been in Hufflepuff.
