It was a hot sunny day and Mandy was bored to death. Usually on days like these she would go out into the Hogwarts grounds, but today she had to work. All she could think about was the sun and everything she could do outside.
Sitting behind the check-out desk, Mandy looked as glum as ever. Staring out the door, her head perked up. Someone, who looked to be a Hufflepuff fifth year walked in. Standing straight up, forcing a smile, Mandy said,"Hi and welcome to the Brockleburst Delicious Deli!" The smile became real and she added,"How may I help you?" And with that to continue the conversation the other girl would have to reply. All Mandy could do was hope she hadn't scared her.

Normally on sunny days like these Allison would have loved to call up some friends and go swimming. But she couldn't do that. Know why? All of her friends were either in muggle London(fitting, seeing as most of her friends were Muggles) or doing homework. Allison however was not, she had finished her homework the night they got it, preffering to just get it over with.
All alone and nothing to do Allison had wandered into Hogsmeade. Looking glumly at all the sweets she couldn't buy a sudden idea struck her. I should get a job! It was the perfect idea. It'd give her something to do, she'd meet new people, and perhaps best of all, get paid! But where to try first? There were tons of places to choose from and Allison went to each one untill finally, she ended up at the Deli.
Brokleburst's Delicious Deli the sign stated proudly. With a shrug Allison entered looking at her surrounding curiously. "Hi and welcome to the Brockleburst Delicious Deli!" Allison jumped at the voice, having not noticed the woman standing behind the check-out desk. The woman seemed nice enough, maybe she was the owner or something? "How may I help you?" The lady added.
"Uhm, hi." Allison said, stepping forward. "I'm Allison Windrall and, uhm..." Her voice trailed off before she found the right words to say. "Well I was wondering if you need anymore employes? I'm a hard worker and I don't complain much and I promise not to yell at customers." Allison finished with a smile and looked up at the woman hopefully, waiting for a reply.

As the child who looked about fifteen answered with such a reply that Mandy couldn't help, but giggle. Not very often did you get students from Hogwarts begging for a job, not that she was begging, but asking is enough to get Mandy shocked.
Looking up at the girl Mandy answered,"Hi Allison, I'm Mandy Brockleburst owner of the deli." Letting the last of her giggles pass Mandy went on,"And well... i'm glad to here that you posess all of those qualities and are willing to not yell at customers! You're more than welcome to have a job!"
Mandy smiled at Allison. Feeling a little nosy, Mandy searched for the right words for her question. "Well... just wondering, what made you want a job and why here?" Leaving this question be, Mandy went on with her boredness and stood behind the counter.

The woman behind the counter looked up at Allison and answered,"Hi Allison, I'm Mandy Brockleburst owner of the deli. And well... I'm glad to hear that you posses all of those qualities and are willing to not yell at customers! You're more than welcome to have a job!" At these words Allison literally jumped for joy. "Thank you sooooooo much! You have no idea how grateful I am, I've been looking for a job for ages!" Allison said happily, stretching out the word 'ages'. OK, maybe it had only been a few hours but that didn't really matter now did it?
"Well... just wondering, what made you want a job and why here?" Allison could see that the woman, Mandy was not trying to be nosy but probably needed to know these things. Another smile spreading across her face Allison began her story.
"Well to be honest with you...I need some money. My parents only send a few Galleons a week and I kinda-sorta lended that to my friends. Plus, I've been wanting to do something that would help me meet more people and what's better at achieving that then working at a restaurant!" Alli paused before continuing. "As for the why here, I tried all the other places and they don't need any more waitresses. I was just about to give up when I saw this place so...yeah. That's pretty much it."
