Just to a few rules/instructions to make role playing as good as possible!
1. Please change your display name to a full name e.g Eddie Izzard or Judy Garland. No usernames e.g. Draco4eva, to be used in RP.
2. Write your role play in third person and in past tense. e.g. She walked into the room and smiled. Not I walked into the room and smiled.
3. Try to maintain proper grammar and spelling as best as you can.
4. Describe! Rather than saying just 'Hey Jim, how are you', go into detail e.g. Mary was feeling slightly worried about seeing Jim today, and felt a jolt in the stomach when he came into view. 'Hey Jim, how are you?' She asked nervously, feeling her cheeks warm in awkwardness. Treat roleplaying as if you are writing a story!
5. Try to post at least two paragaphs in roleplay.
6. Do not moderate (godmod) what other characters do or say without their permission. For example - Professor Godmod watched as the ravenclaw left the room - this would be against the rules if that particular ravenclaw did not actually do that in his/her own post.
7. Keep things clean. Some threads on this site will contain adults themes; however we do not want anything graphical! Light swearing is allowed however please do not put it in every post. If you read anything offensive please contact the admin so we can sort the issue out.
8. Riddikulus is set about a 100 years after the Harry Potter era, so canon characters will actually be descendants.
9. Electrical Items will not work inside of Hogwarts. JK Rowling did mention this in her books so please no Ipods or Playstations! [/size][/blockquote]

Want to use spells.. books.. specific wizarding terms in your posts?
HP Lexicon is an absolutely fantastic resource and very useful - being a complete encyclopaedia of Harry Potter!
o LINK: www.hp-lexicon.org/index/master-index-intro.html
It also provides a useful currency converter, if you want to work out the value of things properly in wizarding money.

Wikipedia is also surprisingly useful. Quite a lot of the things in Harry Potter are real or have some truth in its origin, so this can provide a great resource. E.g. I've found it particularly useful for potion ingredients, most of the plants have been chosen for a reason and this site helps you find out why.
