Brandon approached the forest's edge nervously, but a small smirk was on the edge of his lips. He had spent his first few days at Hogwarts getting lost and hardly had any time to explore, but this. This was what he was waiting for.
Venturing inside the trees, Brandon squinted. He knew one of The Dark Lord's largest battles had happened in this exact forest. Of course, he hadn't been alive when it happened, but he had read many books from his great-grandfather's personal study, as they had all been left to him. He had also read many recent tellings of the battles as the War had been retold in several tongues by several people.
A branch snapped under his foot, and he felt his heart stop for a split second. The books didn't fail to mention that the forest was also a danger even now, with centaurs and unicorns... And even ghastlier things.
As he pushed a few vines aside, his wand held out in front of him with a simple lumos to light the pitch-black fog he was in. A small buzz reached his ears and he flinched, lifting his free arm to swat away whatever it was, hoping it wasn't a doxy. He wasn't in the mood to fight off vicious-or annoying-creatures...
Digging in his back pocket, as he had to leave his robes at the castle for fear they'd get ruined, he pulled out a map that was stored in one of his grandfather's books A Battle of Vengeance. Of course, it was a Dark Arts book, as his grandfather was a believer in dark arts, but it still held very useful information. Like how to find the battle site.
Whispering the spell to activate the map, Brandon smirk grew. Spidery writing washed over the old, previously blank parchment. No one knew why he transferred from his old school in America- But this was the reason. His complete and utter curiosity and fascination in The Dark Lord. The books had all told him that this is where it all happened. Where the Great Harry Potter and Tom Riddle went to school.
Though his curiosity for Voldemort was greater than that of Potters, as they were raised orphans in an orphanage, weren't they? Both misread. His eyes darkened, as he looked at the map. "Finally." He whispered to himself.

Sliding behind the student, the Dark Figure used his shadowy powers to rise above the student. His eyes scanned the student and felt nothing special from him, just a keen sense of loss.
Laughing at the student loudly, rustling the very leaves that hung loose on the trees, the Dark Figure spoke in deterring words. "You do not know what you're doing, where you belong, what you are... leave now, pathetic human, before I grant you your wish..."

Lisa let out a frustrated sigh as she shook her foot from a couple of vines that looked almost as though they were snarling. She had been in the forest for nearly an hour now, it seemed, though she couldn't tell as it was pitch black with only her wand in front of her holding some light.
Exploring the forest, she had found out, wasn't the best idea... She had already encountered flesh eating slugs, barely getting past them, and it was positively filled with spiders- not her favourite insect to say the least. Stomping across a slushy pile of slimy weeds, she grimaced, and pushed away a few branches that blocked her path. She was lost, she knew, but her the stubbornness she was born with refused to admit it.
"Yes, I remember seeing this." She whispered to herself with a nod, directing it at an old moss-covered stubby log. "That too," she suggested knowingly, meaning an old crickety treebranch that swung back and forth in front of her. Just as she ducked, nearly getting beaten up by and old swinging vine, she heard a loud ghostly voice. Frowning, she trudged through the muddy slime, feeling the mush splatter onto her knees and letting out another sigh.
Reaching the voice, she gasped at what she saw, her wand nearly falling out of her grasp.

Brandon nearly dropped his map in surprise and quickly released the spell, folding it back inside his robes safely. His gaze shifted from the dark figure to the girl, and he bit his lip wondering what was worse. Noticing the Gryffindor robes, Brandon let out a relieved sigh. She was a Gryffindor, surely she'd keep quiet as there were points at stake.
"Grant my wish?" Brandon asked, watching the girl from the corner of his eye. "I can bloody well grant my own wish," he said, holding down the urge to shove the map in the figure's face. His desire to see the war site was destroyed because of the dark figure and he scowled, stumbling over a branch. Pulling out his wand, he held it shakily in front of him, though his fear was not hidden as his body trembled and his breath came out in quick short gasps.
"Now leave me-us!" He remembered, finally turning his attention to the girl, staring at her intensely, weighing how trustworthy she was.

"Really it's rude," Erich states flatly, stepping out from behind a large elm and grinning for the sound of the twigs snapping beneath him, "that someone should throw a party in your house and not invite you." Walking calmly toward the dark figure, Erich peers up in to its empty face, the black eyes. He continues, "And to be clear--- this is my house."

(OOC: Not a ghost, a physical being trapped inside of the forest!)
The dark figure laughed at the student. "Your will, be granted." He said, then turned to see a ghostly image of a man before him. "The forest may be your house, but the darkness... is my house." Laughing fitfully, the dark figure dispersed into the darkness, leaving the scene by melding into the very shadows.

Lisa followed the boys lead and pulled out her wand in front of her, staring at the two unnatural beings before them with wide-eyes. She wondered briefly if their magic could even affect either of the two at all, before turning to Brandon, "How do we get out of this?" She whispered.
It was at that point The Dark Figure disappeared, leaving them alone with the ghostly image of the other in front of them. She took in a deep, shuddering breath, not daring to say a word.

Brandon turned to the girl, a deep scowl on his face. "I'm not getting out of anything." He said, his fingers itching to grab the map and continue his search. "I came here for a reason."
He stared at the girl, before looking at the spirit. In a clear voice. "Who are you?"

((I know I was supposed to wait but I got bored. And please excuse the suckiness.))
The Forbidden Forest wasn't that bad. However it did have a certain aura that Aera didn't like. The hairs on the back of her neck were standing up. Aera stayed vigilant. She didn't know what could happen in here. She thought back to the last time that she entered the forest. She didn't actually remember it, but whatever happened got her landed in the infirmary. She just hoped that didn't happen again. She wasn't the least bit afraid though. That was one quality that she was proud to have.
Aera had her wand in hand, a small light shining through the tip from the spell, Lumos, which she cast upon entering the forest. So far, so good. Her body parts were still intact and her mind was sound. So, whatever happened last time hadn't happened to her, yet. She was still very cautious while she was walking, paying close attention to her surroundings.
The thought hadn't crossed her mind that she was breaking a school rule. The feeling would sink in soon enough. She was to focused on what was next to come to be worried with such thoughts. She just wanted to survive this little trip.
There were sounds coming from up ahead. So, who would be stupid enough to be wandering around here. She paused for a second. I guess I would, She thought, feeling like an idiot. She continued walking foward when she spotted a familiar face, and a few not so familiar. Having a party or something? She could see both of the Gryffindors wands out. Another day, another battle.
She walked over toward Lisa. "Need some help?" she said to no one in particular.

(( haha! What are you going on about? That post had no 'suckiness' at all! ))
Lisa was surprised to see Aera approaching them, though realised she shouldn't have been. Their previous meeting had centered around the forest, and it seemed Aera was just as curious as she was. She would have grinned if the situation wasn't so terribly frightening.
"Looks like we think alike, doesn't it?" She said to Aera shakily, but staring at Brandon. There was a difference between bravery and stupidity though it seemed Gryffindor's didn't see the obvious differences. Herself included, she thought with a sigh. Her forest exploration was not supposed to turn out like this.
