She walked over to where the Professor had pointed and set down the few scrolls, then set up the tiny telescope to face the sky and said, "Engorgio." it returned to its origional size and she smiled. Walking back over to the group of Ravenclaws she said, "Comet? What kind of comet?"

Erika stood off to the side, unsure of whether or not she should introduce herself to everyone. She began to chew on her bottom lip, and her gemstone eyes flickered back and forth. A sure sign that she was nervous.

She noticed the nervous new girl and smiled, "Hey, I'm Halo." she held out her hand to the girl, "And for future reference, This is Professor Algernon Moncrieff," she nodded to the curly haired professor laiden down with divination supplies, "And that's Fin." she nodded to the Ravenclaw boy. "Beware of him, he's constantly losing us points." she snickered slighlty.

Erika chuckled shyly and shook the other girls hand. "I'm Erika Karew." she answered.

Algernon straighted up, walking back over to the group. He chuckled at Helia's comment about Fin, nodding. "Yes, that's Fin, but he love him anyway," he said, reaching out to shake Erika's hand after Helia. "As she said, I'm Professor Moncrieff, but most of my Ravenclaws call me Professor Algy, why I haven't yet discovered."

"Well, it's simply lovely to meet you Erika." she said with a curtsy, nearly falling over in the attempt. She laughed, then trned to Professor Algernon, "So are we just comet watching tonight?" Halo asked, wondering what all the scrolls and charts were for.

Erika cracked up. "The pleasure is all mine, Fair Lady!" she replied with a curtsy of her own. She turned to the professor, "Oh and maybe they call you Professor Algy beacuse it's easy to remember? Or maybe they just think it's funny?" she smirked

Algernon wandered over to the telescope. It was so large that he, even at his height of about 6 feet, did not have to stoop to look through the lense. He looked through, and began adjusting it as he spoke.
"Well, regardless as to why I have my nickname... No, we are not 'just comet watching' tonight. We're going to watch a very specific comet, one which we are lucky to see in our life-times, and we are going to learn about what comets mean in divination, including the... special meanings of this one in particular."

"Which comet is it?" asked Erika curiously

"It is a very old, very large comet named after the centaur Breburr, who discovered it in the 500's." He answered, never taking his eyes from the sky. "But we really should wait for more students to arrive before beginning the lesson... you all won't want to listen to me repeat myself."

Helia sighed. Why w eren't other students as fascinated about the sky as she was? They should all be up here an hour early to be ready for the comet, but no. They're going to wait until exactly nine'o'two to show up and keep her from finding out more about the comet until then. Gits. She sat down near the professor, pulled out her thermos of coffee and began drinking it like the coffee addict she pretended not to be.

"500s, eh?" Fin mused. "So Professor, how often does this comet thingy show up? And how does it relate to divination?" Fin thought divination was a crock anyways, but as long as he was here, he might as well gain some useless knowledge.

Lisa ran up the Divination Tower, her bookbag swinging along side her. She panted slightly, walking through the entrance, and slowed down, peering around her. Smiling, she walked up to the small group that was forming and sat down near them, pulling her bookbag in front of her. "I hope I haven't missed anything," she said, digging in her bag for a pumpkin pastry that she KNEW was in there somewhere.
