[OOC: In response to the "Hating the Weather" thread]
Esmerelda was wandering down the corridor towards the staff room, humming one of her favourite tunes. She couldn't wait to have a sit down and a nice cup of tea.
She turned the corner and came colliding into a flushed Professor Moncrieff. Regaining her composure, she looked at the teacher in concern. 'Whats the matter Algernon?' She asked kindly. He must have just come out of the classroom.. but what had caused him so much distress?

Algernon ran into the corridor, nearly running headlong into the Headmistress. His face broke out in relief upon seeing her. "Headmistess!" He panted, out of breath from the run. "Ms. Rivers... she had this. She says Mr. Chase has one as well." He held out his hand. The smell of burning flesh arose from it; one could hear his skin sizzling as it cooked in the heat. "Look at the design..." he flipped it into his other hand, groaning softly in pain as that one began to burn as well. A large red burn, a perfect likeness of the dark mark, was melted into his hand. "And the stars... Merlin help us, something's coming, Headmistress!"

If the Headmistress was worried, she did not let herself show it. She took the object from Algernon and quickly passed it on her sleeve, wanting to avoid skin contact.
She examined it for a few moments, and then looked up at Algernon.
'What does this mean?' She said almost rhetorically as she quickly turned it over. 'I do not know.' She glanced at Algernons injured hand and looked at him in concern. 'You should get that checked out. I don't think a simple healing spell will get rid of it.' She paused again to look at the object. 'You said that there is another one like this?' The professor nodded. 'I think it would be best to confiscate it as soon as possible. Thanks for coming straight to me Algernon.' She wrapped the object up completely. 'Have you seen anything.. any warnings?' Though Esmerelda had never taken that much of an interest in Divination, she knew it was not to be taken for granted.

Algernon nodded, carefully wrapping his hand in the hem of his robes. He had been burnt before, but... this felt like dragon fire. The pain was terrible. " We'll need to alert the other teachers... Chase needs to be found as quickly as possible. And Rivers, I think she might be posessed. She kept ranting about how the pendant would 'return to her.' I left a 6th year in charge, but..." he shrugged."They'll need to be check on..." He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to think through the pain. "She could see it! In the stars, she saw the message. Something's -coming-, Headmistress, something big... that's all I know," he finished lamely, wishing he could be of more assistance.

Esmerelda saw that Algernon looked like he wished he could offer more. 'You've done more than enough, Algernon. I've never seen or heard of anything quite like this before, and you've made sure we can do something about it quickly.' The Headmistress paused for less than a second in thought.
'I need to see Miss. Rivers and Mr. Chase straight away. This is not safe, and I dread to think of what Miss. Rivers may be going through.' Esmerelda saw Algernon take a step in action. 'I'll round up the rest of the staff, and I want you to get yourself healed.' He looked resentful as if he was determined to help out. 'Don't worry, we have enough people, I dont want you to suffer any more than you need to.'

Freundschaft poked his head out of the classroom, increasingly irritated with the course of his day, "What's going on here? Why this racket- some of us are trying to teach." Several chairs bobbed mid-air behind him.

"Rainer, thank god!" Algernon exclaimed. "Please, would you go up to my class? They're on the roof of the Divination tower. Please do, Ms. Rivers may be posessed, and Mr. Chase could be too, but we don't know where he is. I left a 6th year in charge, but she won't be able to control them." he looked at the other professor pleadingly. "Please, they're in grave danger!"

"A sixth year?! Dummkopf! I'll be fast." Rainer turned at that shaking his head at Algeron's decision making. Calling out over his shoulder, "You'd think a divination professor would see something like this coming, nein?"

Eithne quickly pressed her back against the wall, making way for a professor muttering incoherently beneath his breath, spitting hard consonents onto the stone floor as he swiftly made his way down the corridor. Her eyes followed the trail of his cloak - oh the Germans...
Further ahead, she saw the divination teacher, seemingly distraught. There was something angry and searing in the air. Eithne sighed; she had hardly begun her post at Hogwarts, nor taught her first class yet, and there was already something brewing.

Professor Mandrake rounded a corner and ran straight into the two professors. They had severe looks on there faces. Mandrake having heard the hole thing said "I could help. My area of expertise is a very strong magic and i know alot about the dark arts. Should I check the forest because i saw something fishy the other day?"
