Helia dashed into the library after History of Magic class. "Okay, so theoretically..." she tried to reasure herself that she was doing this for historical and hypothetical reasons only, "If two souls created their own being, that also had its own soul... the boy therein would have no family." She climbed a ladder and pulled out a few different family tree charts that dated near a hundred years ago, then walked over to another book case and started searching for school attendance records that could help her figure this out.
She looked down one row and up the next until she found it; 'Hogwarts School Enrollment and Attendance Records 1900-01' and 'Hogwarts School Enrollment and Attendance Records 1901-02'. Surely, here somewhere would be a boy with no past, no family, no history to speak of. She took the two thick books back to her desk and set them down with a small cloud of dust streaming into the air. "It has to be here... he has to be here..." she mumbled to herself. "AH!" she gave a small jolt as she felt someones hand on her shoulder.

"Aah!" Ethan cried in fright, jumping back immediately. Embarassed and blushing, he began "It's just that no one is usually in this section of the Library and I thought maybe I could help you." Ethan often studied in this rather deserted filing area and was surprised to find someone here and so focused on their tasks. "Who is he?" he asked, noticing Helia's silence, hoping she would forget his intrusion. Ethan tries smiling.

(( Er... Just a note, since we're 100 years after all this, they'd have been born about 100 years before... not like 7 =P And anyway... Rainer, Erich, think about the names!))

<Oh, well I was thinking if we were going by the HP timeline, those would be books in his seventh year, and the year after he would've graduated... hm, oh well. I shall have to think about how to edit that post>
She gave the boy an unsure glance, not decided on whether she welcomed the intrusion or not, "If I knew who he was I wouldn't have to do all this work," she said looking at the charts and books that now covered the table and a few nearby chairs. She sighed, 'Why can't I jsut leave it alone? How come the other students in class could leave and think nothing more about it while I'm here, searching for some person that's probably dead and just happened to to have been created from the Dark Lord and Harry Potters souls...' She grimaced. "There's got to be an easier way..." she mumbled. She looked back at the boy again, "Have you ever come across anything... extremly unusual in any of these books?" she asked, picking her words very carefully.

(( But... HP, the books, isn't set in modern times. We're setting it back a little from the canon so that Erich can have been 'dead' during both of the wars, but still. In Rid time, it is 2006, like it is now. So Voldemort was defeated in say, 1900. So Erich was born in 1900, Rainer in 1901.))

(( Does it really change that much? =/ It's just dates.. sorry though!
Damn, I've given away that Rainer really is the one in the story, but I suppose that was obvious already. Whoops!))

Grace walked into the library and looked around. Where do I start? she thought. She had been thinking more and more about her History of Magic lesson and now came to see what she could find in her trusty library.
She walked down a isle and then the next and didn't find anything that may help. She turned another corner when a farmiliar voice prickled her ears. She stopped in her tracks and looked down the next isle. It was Helia and another ravenclaw boy. Perfect, she thought and walked towards them. "Helia," she asked, "also can't get it out of your mind?"

She looked up, "Nope. But thus far there's nothing here!" she said frusteratedly. "It makes no sense..." she shook her head. She tried to take a look at it in a new way... "That's it!" she said standing up and rushing to the shelves again.

Grace looked at Helia, confused and in admiration for being so dedicated. "What?" she asked, seeing Helia rush off, "Halo, I want to help. How can I help? Tell me what's going on in your head, so I can help."

"They wouldn't dare send someone that important to Hogwarts, too much chance of being found out with the souls history there. They'd send them away... but where? Durmstrang? Beauxbatons?" she shook her head. There's got to be a way of figuring it out..."

Post by Thom Moen on Jul 15, 2006 11:46:51 GMT
Two isles away, Thom Moen stood by a greased and dirty window with his name drawn in it, a first year Slytherin boy pressed against the book shelves in front of him. "You're not listening to me, are you?" he said to the boy in a hushed whisper. Throwing a paranoid glance over his shoulder, he held the the winged catapult up to the boy's face impatiently. "Look at it, it's a fine thing," he pulled at the elastic, although not too hard, for it was quite faulty. "Come on, less than a galleon. Quite a bargin for a perfectly safe illegal object..." he 'illegal' as quickly as he could.
The Slytherin boy looked at it skeptically, the coppery knuts heavy in his hand. "Look at all of those useless bits of currency," Thom wrinked his nose at the money. "Think of all the fun you could have with this - and no one else has one. Think of the popularity!" he winked.
The boy chewed his lip carefully, eyes upon the feathery little wings of the catapult. "Alright, I suppose..." he said with a tone of mistrust.
"Excellent!" Thom snatched the knuts from the boy's hand and replaced them with the catapult. "Now run along, you little prat," he quickly changed his tone. "If anyone asks, it wasn't me, got it?" he grabbed the Slytherin by the scruff of the neck and dragged him out of the isle. He let go the moment he saw Grace and Halo. "Oh, hello!" he said in a high pitched voice, guilty.

"Not home schooling... no. See, the Guardian, keeping the vessel safe from remembering, Professor Eriksson said he was amazingly gifted, thus they'd send him to an advanced school and the vessel along with him to keep him safe..." she growled, "Only problem is, I don't think Hogwarts has any 'Other School Listings'." She turned when she heard a guilty 'Hello'. She raised an eyebrow, but refrained from retorting about swindling poor firsties. She was too busy, she had to figure this out. She just had to...

"What guardian? What vessel? I've never even had class with Professor Erikkson! If you explain the situation to me, I'm sure I could help. No one knows the reference section as well as I do," Ethan cried, breaking in to the conversation with sudden exasperation. "And actually," he continued more quietly, "They do. But you'll need a specific person."
