Professor Aglered Ethelion Eriksson walked briskly into the room. He saw the faces collected in front of him. Depressed ones. He raised his eyebrows. 'Students... well, they'll see that history is not as bad as it once was'
"Greetings of the day to all of you" he said calmly, while focusing inwardly on the his plan for his first lesson.
"I am Professor Ethelion, and though I understand it is custom to call your professors by their last names, should you have need to refer to me in the halls and tell of the horrors of History class, as I am sure you will, then please kindly call me by Prof Ethelion. Under no circumstances do you call me Professor Aglered or Professor Eriksson"
He glanced around the room making eye contact with everyone. Meanwhile, he focused his mind further on the spell he is about to perform.

She listened carefully, getting her quill ready to take notes for the lesson.

A white puffy cloud began to appear in the room. "Mrs. Ollivander, I believe," he said looking at the young Ravenclaw girl sitting in the first row, "your enthusiam for class is duly noted. Five points for Ravenclaw, but quill and paper won't be necessary. Just sit back and enjoy the show."
The white cloud formed into a rectangle and then the room went dark of its own accord. The cloud now became a screen upon which the story of the Battle of Gaugemela began to play. Professor Ethelion narrated animately along with the scene now enfolding on the screen.
"As some may know, in the Eastern wizarding world, much has happened. This year, we'll be focusing on the history of wizard and muggles in the East and how that has affected our current hemisphere. In the scene you are about to see, that man is a muggle named Alexander the Great. That man standing next to him, a chief advisor was the powerful wizard Palinurus. Today's class is about the victory of Alexander with the aid of Palinurus against muggle forces of Persia led by Darius aided by the rebel wizard Xerxes the IV."
...
The class went on, with each student watching the scene unfolding before their eyes, much like a movie screen in the muggle world. Except here, there were moving name tags to important people, actions would pause to give blurbs on personal history, and throughout it all, Professor Ethelion narrated the action. The passion showed in his glinting eyes as he described how Alexander won and thereby Palinurus put to rest a dark menace that Xerxes the IV had posed to the Eastern wizarding community.
"Had Xerxes won, my friends, then he would have led those forces both muggle and wizard to conquer what the muggles then called the ancient city states of Greece. And the course of history would have been vastly different from what we know o f it today. In this way, the East protected the futures of the West."
"That's it for class today," Professor Ethelion said, as he noticed his class tie was over. "If anyone has any questions, please find me in the hallways or feel free to step into my office. Your first homework assignment is to explain in less than 2 paragraphs, how a victory by Xerxes would have threatened the future of the Greek city states and how that would change both today's muggle and wizarding communities. Any questions about the assignment or lesson? And if you have any suggestions on topics of interest, please let me know"

Ashlee walked into class late, she sighed seeing that she had already missed the lesson AND the assignment. She shyly looked for the professor, spotted him, and approached him. "Excuse me Professor, I didn't mean to be late for your class. Could I please get the assignment?"

Ashlee smiled sweetly. "Thank you professor." She turned on her heels swiftly and headed out of class writting down the assignment on the palm of her hand as not to forget it.

*SIGH* "Well, she's getting an old fashioned notepad for Christmas," said Professor Ethelion. He gathered his thoughts for a moment and collecting himself, packed up his things and began to walk out of the classroom, already planning the next lesson: Hector and Andromache, and their son Astayanax. Let the great wars be our guide... ~~if you need to find me, i'll be in my office, office hours are any time except during private meetings ~~
