Jac shrugged, her hair turning it's original black colour. "Nah," she said, "I imagine the same as you. He's in intensive care. Mother watches him during the day and he always talks about you ... ya know, stuff like that." She looked at the floor and kicked it lightly, "there was one thing, that he had a relapse about a month ago, I don't know if mum told you about that."

Grace nodded, she had! Jac knew nothing about it, nothing at all! "So why has Maddi never mentioned you before?" she enquired, looking puzzled.

Jac's eyes burst into green and her hair flamed red. "Well, have you ever asked!" She huffed and ran her fingers through her hair, "look," she said, calming herself, her hair washing into a sea blue, "have you got anything you'd like me to say to her or not?"

Grace frowned at Jac, a curious girl actually. She pulled out the letter again and reread it quickly. "Yeah, just that I'm grateful for her taking me in and everything."

Jac nodded, curtly, "thanks!" she said and whirled around. "See ya 'rond, Grace." She walked off, towards the school and did not look back. She was going to reply to her mothers questions about Grace, no matter what.
