Grace knew he was right and feeling awkward too, she pulled away from him. She belt down and picked up her book with on hand, wiping her cheeks with the other hand. She sniffed and looked back to the professor. She nodded and said, "it's life!"

"So true. Some die to make room for the new. These things happen. We just need to toughen up and go on with our lives, but is alright to feel sad too." said Mandrake looking at Grace's tear stained face.

Grace looked back to Mandrake through puffy eyes and smiled weakly. "The circle of life," she said with a small sniff. "It would just be better if I knew what was going on."

"Sometimes its better not knowing the suffering our loved ones are going through. All you can do is wait and hope. Myabe you should get into something to take your mind off it. Maybe the dueling club?" said Mandrake trying to make Grace feel better.

Grace looked up to the professor and smiled. She thought for a second and nodded. "That sounds like an excellent idea, but I couldn't..." she hung her head, "I don't think I would ever be able to fire on a fellow student."

Grace smiled up at the rugged professor. "I'll look into both!" she said. She looked up at the professor, her eyes twinkling, and began to chew her lip.

Grace smiled widely at the tall man. "Yeah, quidditch is going great! We're practicing hard and ready for anything anyone throws at us, quaffle or not! I dislocated my shoulder during our last practice but it's fine now." She looked at her shoulder and rolled it in a wide circle to show that it was fine now.

"Well thats good. I don't favor house teams of course, but I think you will have a great season. The real competitors though would be Slytherin. In a match between the two of you I would have to say Slytherin, but I would like to see you prove me wrong. Think you could do that?" mandrake asked giving Grace a slight wink.

"You'll do fine no matter what. Just remember to look out for bludgers. They arent fun." said Mandrake remembering back when he played pro Quidditch. " I know its random, but what are your plans for after Hogwarts?"

Grace nodded at the mention of bludgers but was taken aback by the professors question. "Oh ... um ... I don't know," she stuttered, "I haven't really thought about it. Why? Going to suggest anything?"

"Well I dont know. I could maybe recommend you for Professional Quidditch, but I imagine you would rather do something like an Auror or teacher, but if you ever wanted I could probably get you into the pros." said mandrake with a smile.

Grace's lake blue eyes widened and sparkled at the mention of pros. WOW! she thought, how flashy! She smiled up at the professor and nodded, uncertainly, "yeah-" she sighed "-I don't know. Auror was probably on the top of my list ... if there ever was a list ... but I couldn't imagine teaching." She looked away from the intense man and frowned, "but pro? I don't know. I don't think I'm that good, maybe Girty or Bog or even Thom, but me?" She shrugged.
