Grace was not that confidant about this song, but she played it never the less and sang it as well as she could. Mama they try and break me...
The windows burns to light the way back home A light that warms no matter where they go They're off to find the hero of the day But what if they should fall by someone's wicked way
Still the window burns Time so slowly turns And someone there is sighing Keepers of the flames Can't you feel your name? Can't you hear your babies crying?
Mama they try and break me... Still they try and break me...
Excuse me while I tend to how I feel These things returns to me that still seem real Now deservingly this easy chair But the rocking stopped by wheels of despair
Don't want your aid But the fist I've make For years can't hold or feel No I'm not all me So please excuse me while I tend to how I feel
But now the dreams And waking screems That everlast the night So build a wall Behind it crawl And hide until it's light So can't you hear your babies crying now?
Still the window burns Time so slowly turns And someone there is sighing Keepers of the flames Can't you feel your name? Can you hear your babies crying?
But now the dreams And waking screems That everlast the night So build a wall Behind it crawl And hide until it's light So can't you hear your babies crying now?
Mama they try and break me Mama they try and break me Mama they try and break me Mama they try Mama they try Mama they try and break me Mama they try and break me Mama they try and break me Mama they try Mama they try

Mort closed his eyes. He could do it without them. He played and played and rocked the song until it was over. He was getting thirsty. "Anything...else?" he asked out of breath.

Grace obligued, but added before playing, "then we drink!" Fell no pain, but my life ain't easy I know I'm my best friend No one cares, but I'm so much stronger I'll fight until the end To escape from the true false world Undamaged destiny Can't get caught in the endless circle Ring of stupidity
Out of my own, out to be free One with my mind, they just can't see No need to hear things that they say Life is for my own to live my own way
Rape my mind and destroy my feelings Don't tell my what to do I don't care now, 'cause I'm on my side And I can see through you Feed my brain with your so called standards Who says that I ain't right Break away from your common fashion See through your blurry sight
Out of my own, out to be free One with my mind, they just can't see No need to hear things that they say Life is for my own to live my own way
See they try to bring the hammer down No damn chains can hold me to the ground Life is for my own to live my own way

Grace was breathing hard. "Now..." she panted, "we drink!" She got up and walked to the cupboard and opened it to find four tall glasses of rainbow coloured liquid standing on a tray. "Perfect!" she picked up the tray and offered each person a glass. She set the tray down on the piano stool and lifted her glass. "To music!" she said and drained her glass.

"To music!" and Mort drained his glass. "Want to play again?" asked Mort feeling refreshed.

Grace sat down next to the tray and put her glass on it, smiling to herself. "Dam, Mort, you are relentless!" she said, looking at him with lake blue eyes. "Let me catch my breath as well. Or maybe you would like to lead us in song while the rest of us play?"

"im no singer. Perhaps we should take a break. So....what all did everyone do today?" Mort asked laughing.

Girty sat back laughing at Mort and his enthusiasm and enjoyed listening to the music. "I will keep sitting here and staring in wonder. My brother got all the talent when it came to music. I could never play well."

"Maybe you should learn. Learn the muggle bass and we could have a band!" Mort joked, sighing.

Fernand set his guitar on a stand. He hadn't played that long in some time. He played so long his fingers started to bleed. He sighed and took a glass from the tray. "To music." He gratefully drained his glass and wiped the sweat of his brow. "Yeah maybe you should play bass." he said to Girty, thinking about the last band he was in. He smiled and found himself looking at Grace. Again.

Girty laughed. "OK then i will learn during the holidays." she smiled thinking if she was being stupid agreeing with them but shook it off. "I band does sound kind of random but fun at the same time."

Grace looked away from Fernand when he looked at her and smiled at Girty. "Yeah," she said, "imagine- two huffies and two slytherins, how bizarre?"

"That would be bizarre, but awesome! What would we call ourselves though?" Mort asked thinking on a name.

Girty laughed and thought about how strange it truly was. "Erm...how about 'you did not see that one coming'. As you would not think that some Hufflepuffs and Slytherins would do this." She looked around the room and smiled. "Ok I'm shutting up"
