Grace walked down the dorm stairs and onto the soft carpet; it warmed her cold toes right up. She was still in her blue sheep pj's and had lost her socks during her sleep. There was no one else in the common room except her. She walked to the fire place and used the poker to awaken it's flames.
Suddenly she heard someone beind her and she whirled around to see that there actually was someone there...
((bring life into the common room! I completely agree! ;D))

After falling out of bed Girty thought it best to put on her slippers for extra grip going down the stairs. Today was not starting off well.
As she reached the bottom of the steps she did a little jump as she did not fall down them suddenly releasing that there were other people in the room.
"Hello"

Grace stared at Girty in stunned shock, "my word! I almost had a baby! You don't just sneek up on people like that." Then the shock melted away to be replaced by a friendly smile, "well, good morrow to you too!"
Grace put the pocker back where it usualy hung, took another log and put it on the fire. Dusting off her hands, she turned around and sat on one of the high backed seats near the fire place. She looked over the chair's shoulder, "are you just going to stand there or are you going to come closer to-- yaw! Bog! I didn't see you there... How long have you been there?"
Grace had just seen Bog, she wondered how long he had been sitting there and if he had been watching her...

Girty rubbed her eyes and stood still trying to register what Grace had just said to her. With a slow nod of the head she moved forward and sat on the floor in-front of the fire, staring into the dancing flames.

"I had a dream about my mum," Grace said, "so I'm not too great but, I'm good!" She smiled and knodded, "yeah, I'm good!" She was trying to convince herself of that fact more then the others. "How's bout you two?"

Girty looked up at Grace. She tried a small smile but failed she new how she felt. All of a sudden she started to talk her thoughts out loud. "I miss my Gold fish. The way he slowly opens and closes his mouth."
Doing the impression of the fish, Girty returned back to looking into the flames.

"Yeah!" Grace smiled at Girty's impression of her fish. "Dad, when he writes, always says that Toby is learning to give paw and to sing merry chirstmas!"

Girty laughed at the thought of an animal singing Merry Christmas. "I thought i taught one of my goldfish to swim upside down, but i then found out it had a swim balder problem. Died a week later. i will always remember Scott."

Girty did not know what to say. She really as not very good in these types of situations. She started to tap her fingers of her knee and looked around the room. She had to change subject and quickly. "So.....What are you two up today then?"

Boggleworth had kept silent for a change but then he realised it was time for him to intervene he recognised an attempt by Girty to change the subject but decided to keep with it instead he said gently "You know Grace it's often better for you, if you tell someone about your feelings and how much you miss a person when they have gone, you shouldn't keep it inside of you, we're here for you whenever you feel you need a chat, and it will go no further than this!" Boggleworth knew he was treading on thin ice but thought it for the best "and equally," he interjected into the stunned silence "you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, only when you think the time is right!"
