Novella Sandler curled up into her favorite arm chair at the fireside, tucking her legs beneath her, her white ferret Darin curled up in her lap, sleeping. She rested her head on the arm of the chair, ejoying the warmth of the fire. She didn't really expect anyone to talk to her, although she would have enjoyed it. Still, it would be fine if no one did. She had Darin, and he was enough. Smiling, she stroked his fur gently so as not to wake him.

Carrie hadn't moved all evening, partly because she was feeling particularly lazy after the day of lessons and partly because she was completely engrossed in the book she was reading. She was just turning over to page 281, when she realised.. I can not feel my legs.
The Gryffindor had had her legs dangling over the arm of the chair for over an hour, and who would have thought how much of a struggle it would be to move them again. 'Oo.. ahh..' She grumbled to herself as she stood up - the pins and needles kicking in.
'I'm such an old woman.' Carrie said rather loudly to herself, before realising how odd that would sound to anyone around her. She peered around slightly and was happy to see that there was only one other student in the near vicinity, who seemed to not have particularly heard her anyway, as she stroked what looked to be some sort of white pet.
'Hey there.' Carrie said to the other Gryffindor, realising how unsociable she had been most of the evening and also recognising her from being in the same year, as she sat herself back in the chair.

Lisa clumsily walked down the stairs, yawning as she glanced around her. Her nap had gone well, other than the fact that piles of unfinished homework lay on her desk in the dorm room, and she was feeling generally happy.
Noticing a few girls who looked a little older, if not the same age as her, she walked over to them and smiled, "Either of you seen the hourglass lately? Lost about a hundred points!" She walked over to the nearest chair and sat down with a sigh, before grinning. "We can earn them back with a few Quidditch wins, I reckon." She always did love discussing the wizarding world's favourite sport.

It wasn't long before another Gryffindor joined the two of them, and at the mention of Quidditch, Carrie was soon smiling. 'Oh, you're the new chaser for the team right?' She asked turning to the girl. 'I'm Carrie, Beater for the team.' She explained, before realising she had in fact noticed the oddly substantial decrease in points. 'Down by a hundred points?' The Gryffindor questioned with a frown. Though she wasn't particularly competitive when it came to the House Cup, she still liked to see Gryffindor in with a chance. 'What happened there then?'

Novella looked up at the two Gryffindors unconsernedly. "Well... it didn't look as if we were going to have a chance at it anyway, did it? We've got the Ravenclaws running about being know-it-alls, and there are just so many Hufflepuffs... bit hard to compete." She shrugged, smirking. "Still... wonder who it was."

Miranda walked down the dorm stairs, dressed in her blue teddy bear pajamas and her school bag over one arm. She had tried to get to sleep but she found to difficult with the knowledge she had a load of homework still to do. She moved towards the nearest table and slumped in the chair. pulling out books and parcment from her bag. Staring blankly at it she let out a huge sigh and decide to listen into the others conversation.

Carrie smirked in agreement at the mention of the "know-it-all" Ravenclaws and the infesting Hufflepuffs.. they really hadn't stood much of a chance. 'Oh well.' She sighed. 'There's always next year.' Though she wasn't preparing herself for a much better result, and by the looks on the other's faces - neither were they.

Miranda turned around and looked at the others in the common room. "The only plan I had...sorry to interrupt by the way. Was to get our house prefects to abuse their powers and give us loads of points and take points off others." She giggled to herself, before turning around to do some more work.
