[C] Finding the Kitchen

Alexa skipped merrily down a hallway to the right of the staircase. She had heard that if she found a painting of fruit on the wall and tickled the pear on it she would be able to get to the kitchens. When Alexa heard about the rumor she didn't think it was true but she was starving so she had decided to try and find it. Alexa turned to her left and right as she skipped trying to find the pear. There were many paintings along the wall but unfortunately none of them were fruit. Alexa was about to give up when she caught a glimpse of an apple in a painting. She went toward it and realized that it was the painting she had been looking for. Alexa reached toward the painting and tickled the pear. The pear wiggled, giggled and revealed a hidden handle. She grabbed the handle and opened the painting like a door. Inside was a huge room filled with house elves. "So it is true!" Alexa whispered to herself. Even though Alexa had been trying to find the kitchens she never thought she actually be able to find them! Alexa stepped into the kitchens and looked around. Suddenly, two elves appeared in front of Alexa.

"What would you like? Something to eat? A drink?" the first house elf said.

"Um...could I have a chocolate chip cookie?" Alexa asked wondering if anyone else ever went into the kitchens like she was doing now. An elf appeared in front of Alexa with a chocolate chip cookie the size of her head. "Wow! Thanks!" Alexa said taking the chocolate chip cookie. Alexa was about to take a bite when the door to the kitchens swung open.

"Bloody useless librarian." Brandon cried, banging the doors of the kitchen open. He had spent his entire day, missing all his meals, searching in the library for any books that might tell him more about Voldemort. No matter how many times he attempted to sneak into the restricted section, the librarian always managed to catch him just at the last minute, hauling him away and reprimanding him like he was some sort of toddler.

His grandfather's library carried so many more intricate books, but he had no access to them now, while at Hogwarts. He'd have to wait a few more days until summer arrived, and he'd also find away to get into that damned restricted section if it was the last thing he did.

In all his thoughts, he didn't notice the house-elf chatting enthusiastically to him, asking him what he wanted. "Oh, what?" He frowned, looking at it curiously. "leftovers from dinner, if you could." He said, before looking ahead of him once again and catching sight of a girl with an extremely large chocolate chip cookie.

"Erm..." Running a hand through his hair absentmindedly, he averted his eyes, so they weren't staring straight at hers. "Hello."
