She looked into her cup. "What?" she asked. She thought maybe he thought she was a bit too... well Kimmish. She could be a prat sometimes but that was her.

Kim looked at him. She was shocked and unable to speak. "Well... uh.. um.." Oh no... Ive lost my tongue.. thats sooo not good! Kim managed to smile at him. She tried speaking again but could only come out with vowel sounds. She laughed and managed to tell him her tongue seemed to have run away.

Jerred heard her reply. She won't speak... she doesn't like me, he thought. Then reluctantly he stood and tried to leave, but something stopped him.

Kim grabbed his arm. She still couldnt speak but she smiled at him. She nodded to tell him to sit down.

Jerred looked at her, feeling her firm grip on his arm. He sat down back and ready to listen to anything she had to say. But he spoke first, "I'm sorry... I shouldn't of said that!" He felt his gut clench tightly.

"Dont worry about it" she said "Its fine... To be honest im not sure you realise what your feeling.. if anything.. i mean.. Youve only just realised there is someone you can trust. Maybe thats what your feeling. You know, you should be sure before you say something like that because someone might be crazy enough to believe it" She felt the lump in her pocket... It moved. She looked at jerred wondering if he'd noticed it.

Jerred heard her words, then felt his world come crashing down. He realised she was right, but he was sure that he did like her, maybe too much, maybe like an obession. No! He thought fiercely. He then noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He looked at Kim and then at her pocket.
"Whats there?" He asked, seeing something move.

"Oh.. Just a little project.. A professor asked me to look after it for her" She took the brightly coloured patterned egg out of her pocket. "Its a fwooper egg.. It should hatch soon" She said
