Esmerelda wandered onto the lake plains with the slight breeze blowing strands of her black hair in front of her eyes. As she got closer to the lake, she could make out a vague outline of a person on the side opposite to the castle. Grinning, she realised it was one of the many ghosts of Hogwarts.
She strolled around the lake edge to reach the other side, and stood next to the ghost who seemed to be deep in thought. Esmerelda didn't want to intrude, learning from a very similar past experience (of being chucked in the lake) that some ghosts just don't like being bothered.
She gave a small sigh, as she looked across the lake in utter tranquility.

'Hello there.' Esmerelda turned to her with her usual grin. 'I normally see you are the fourth floor corridor - what you doing out here today?'
