Right, Left, or Forward? Well, she knew what was down the right path, but neither of them knew where the other two led, and Aera was quite curious. It wasn't every day she went exploring a thousand-year-old castle.
"Hmm... How about left," she suggested. She looked at him for a moment to see what he'd say.

Thom thought for a moment then nodded slowly. "Left sounds like a plan." he smiled. He felt a little braver about doing it now that there was someone with him. He remember distinctly the strange, hollow sound that had come to greet him last time he'd considered going down there. It had been like the moaning of something without a soul, something that wasn't human or alive. It could have been the pipes.
"I'll go first, I've got the light." he said. They moved forward into the passage, and once again the cold increased. Thom could feel ice on the floor. "Frozen grime. Beautiful." he laughed.

Aera followed after Thom wondering exactly what was going to meet them at the end of the path. Hopefully it wouldn't be something that would get them killed, but nothing to subdued either. Something that would actually make this little venture worthwhile.

As the two of them walked, Thom fell deeper and deeper into unease. He was beginning to wonder if passed students really had magicked these three passages into the walls of Hogwarts. What if it was much older, and not made by students? What if it was made by adults for a serious reason?
Thom squinted into the darkness, the light becoming lesser and lesser. He opened his mouth to speak when the floor suddenly gave way - not into a hole, but into a slide. "Aera!!!" Thom yelled as he landed on his back. He grabbed hold of the Ravenclaw's ankle just in time.
However, the floor was too slippy. The two of them began to plummet into the abyss...
