Kim ran into the class room and scremed "Professor!! The egg!! Its hatched" she held the tiny fwooper in her arms.

[glow=BFFFBF,2,300]"Wonderful Miss Rivers, simply wonderful... Do you still have the shell though?" she asked inquisitively, hoping that the girl hadn't discarded it after the bird had hatched as Fwooper egg shells had many magical properties.[/glow]

[Kim Rivers]

"Yeah.. it should still be in my pocket since thats where it hatched" she said rooting around in her pocket with her free hand. "Ah here it is"

[glow=BFFFBF,2,300]"Amazing..." she said gently picking up the egg shell. Unlike most creatures who peck their way out of their eggs, Fwoopers peeled their way out. Dara held the shell gingerly, it looked like a long colorful ribbon, or more like what an apple peel looks like if you peel it geometrically without breaking the skin. "Thank you very much Miss Rivers, for hatching the egg. Would you like to keep the shell? As a reminder of hatching it, since I have to send the little Fwooper off to a reserve before it's voice develops."[/glow]

She looked at the shell "yeah sure. Its pretty" she had no idea that it had magical qualities "So will you be giving the fwooper a name?" she asked

[glow=BFFFBF,2,300]"Hmm, I don't think I will. I think you will." she said grinning, she held up the bird whose feathers were now drying and fluffing up so it was obvious that the little bird had bright green feathers. "What would you like to call it dear?"[/glow]

She thought for a minute. "hmm.. Im not sure.. How about..." she thought again looking at the fluffy green feathers "Id say fluff but thats not an appropriate name.. How about Rex?"

[glow=BFFFBF,2,300]The bird gave a small chirp in agreement, "I think he likes it." said the Professor with a broad grin. "I'm sure the people at the bird reserve will be very glad to recieve Rex." she turned to Kim, "You know there are several old wives tales about Fwooper shells. Some say they have divinational properties. Noone knows for sure, but some people say that if you let your vision blur while staring at a hatched fwooper egg you can see writing on it. I've tried before but it's never worked." she shrugged her shoulder slightly. "Well, I suppose I ought to let the reserve know that little Rex here hatched, is there anything else you need before I go write up the letter?"[/glow]

"Divinational properties you say?" she looked at the egg shell "This could be interesting" she smiled "No thats all thank you professor. She walked to the door. If theres anything else you'd like help with just give me a shout" she looked at the fwooper "Bye bye rex!" she said waving
