(ooc: *ahem* well, anyway, on with the lesson)
"Right class, calm yourselves down", Mabel stationed her rotund form on top of a small stool by her desk so that she could be seen by all members of the class.
"My name is Mabel vonFishwig, I am your new proffesseuse of herbology! Let us begin by turning to page 72 of your books 'herbology and me' and we will begin with the dissection of the stem of schnooble-meyer combooblewizz plant. Can anyone tell me why this plant is useful?"

Evangeline strolled into the room, not caring that she was 5 hours late. "sorry prof, had to get a cup of tea." she smiled sweetly and sat down.

Lisa frowned, turning to the instructed page. She hadn't ever heard a plant such as the one her professor had stated, and she found herself giggling slightly at the name.
Looking over at the door, she saw an unfamiliar girl enter. She smiled politely at her, noticing Kim was already introducing herself, and looked back at her book, her fingers trailing across the words.

Evangeline shook Kims hand and said "hey there, I'm Evangeline, would you like to sit with me?" she smiled and pulled out the chair next to her.

Keaira opened her book, frowning at the strange name of the plant. She didn't think she had ever heard of it.

"No I'm afraid it doesn't heal skin rashes. The delicate sap is used to treat a broad range of cancers, as its complex molecular structure acts as both an anti-oxidant and a net to trap carcinogenic particles."
The class looked mildly bamboozled.
"That is why it is so incredibly useful to society: wizard and muggle. Yes that's right, the high commission of herbologists have been wanting to reveal the location where the plants grow to the muggle world for many years, but secrecy laws have prevented it. "Anyway, page 72 has the instructions for correctly dissecting the tubers of the plant, the stem, the xylem and phloem so that you can extract the maximum amount from the plants. As these plants are so precious, you will only be able to act on small cuttings that i have taken from some of the other plants that grow in one of the restricted access greenhouses. "There will be a special reward for anyone who removes more than 97% of the sap from the cutting they are given. Righto, begin!"

Lisa turned to her book, flipping to the instructed page. A slight tremor of excitement flickered throughout her body and she read as quickly as she could.
Picking up one of the utensils, Lisa bit her lip watching the plant with interest. She had taken basic sciences before coming to Hogwarts, and many years of Herbology had taught her the parts of a plant. She concentrated on the plant, before it clicked.
Taking one of the leaves, after putting on a pair of gloves, she carefully laid it in front of her. Xylem and Phloem tissues in the leaf, she thought to herself with furrowed eyebrows. Then, she picked up her wand, casting a spell to zoom in on the leaf's internal structure, before raising her hand. When the Professor had reached her, she offered a smile before turning to the page in her book which explained the plant uses.
"When trying to cure the cancer patient, do you give them the raw sap, or is it mixed into a potion?"

"I wouldn't quite call it a potion, one mixes the sap with mildly salty water, to both activate it and make it last longer. The miracle of nature is that the sap can be watered down considerably and still be incredibly potent."
Mabel studied Lisa's work so far.
"You've got a fantastic eye for plants...I hope you manage to get that 97% of the sap, you could be quite useful..."

Lisa blushed slightly, feeling a surge of pride. Smiling at the professor, she nodded, beginning her dissection. She carefully began extracting the sap, putting the valuable substance delicately off to the side.
I wonder just how strong of an aide in antidotes this sap would be, she thought to herself, making a mental note to ask Wigglyfish in their next class.

Gaia was bamboozled. As far as she was aware all of what the teacher had been saying sounded like compleate rubbish however here were the rest of the class lapping it up so it must be ture. However Gaia was not going to be so quick to assume it was.

Mabel did not like the look of this "Gaia". She had heard form other teachers that she was incredibly stuck up and didnot readily believe what teachers had to say. Even though she was invariably wrong and the teachers invariably right.
As if her body had read her mind her stomach swung to the left slightly to far and knocked Gaia sideways onto the floor.
"ooh dear, i am SO sorry my dear"
