Different assignment... write a short paragraph on a significant moment in your own life. Personal histories is what the assignment is about. Frankly, it can be on anything, if it pleases you to write about your grandma's teapot, then do it. Your chance to have a little creative expression in something as set in stone as history. Enjoy
Early bird special: 5 points for first answer, 4 for second, 3 for third, 2 for fouth, 1 for fifth.
Post responses here.

Without Wings Ashlee Jade Van DortAs a child, I had dreams of flying, to fly along side the birds. When my mother figured I was old enough, she bought me my very first broom. Now it wasn't the best broom... but it was MY broom. It took me all of that day's afternoon to learn how to properly sit on it. Once on the broom, my mother had grabbed her broom and, for safety reasons, she tied my broom to hers. When we took off, it was the best feeling of my life. I had become as free as those birds. ((ooc: i hope thats what you wanted ))

Five points for Hufflepuff. Add one more just for sentimentality and the courage to hand in something that personal.

As a child, I often walked in the woods to escape my home. Mother and Father never seemed to get along very well when they thought I wasn't around; I heard Mother snap at Father sometimes, or Father scolding Mother as I hid beneath the stairs. I read books of faerie princesses and beautiful witches who found true love and lived happily ever after; I wondered why my own life was not like that. Mother always demanded the best of me and Father always demanded that I work more than I play. One day I said to Mother: "You told me everyone finds true love. Why didn't you wait for true love before you got married?" Mother smiled at me and said "My child, Keaira, where did you get an idea like that? You silly girl. True love is for storybooks and little children. No one ever finds true love; I didn't. You won't. It's best to give up now, before you get your heart broken." And I only nodded, my face a blank slate, because that was what I had been told before, but I thought she might have forgotten.
(OOC: You couldn't have actually expected me to do something cheerful. Kudos to Ashlee, though, nice piece.)

(OOC: Aw, I feel special. I accidentally developed my character to fit that description throughout my postings today, so I figure, why not.)

As I live an average life not many significant things happen to me. Looking back over the years, I still can't seem to find something extraordinary happening in my life. However, there is only one exception, one memory that stands out the most.
I was a lonely child, shying away from most other children, and had little self esteem. Spending most of my days locked up in my room reading an odd book or daydreaming, I hardly had contact with anyone. That was of course until I was five and a half years old.
I can still remember it clearly, as though it didn't happen ten years ago but only earlier this morning. I was in my room, as usual, playing with some pastels if I remember correctly. Father had the day off the Ministry, which was not something that happened often, and mother was downstairs with him. Finally, it happened... they came to my room, their faces alight with joy.
This memory is one I know I'll never forget, for that was the day I found out I was to be an older sister.

The first time I played Quiditch. It was great. Especially the first time I hit a bludger (I nailed it on my first try naturally). My three brothers Dave, Mark and Arnold tought me how to play. It was the most fun I've ever had with anyone in my entire life, ever. In fact, i was having so much fun, I almost got hit once. Luckily, Dave, my oldest brother, got in front of my and smacked that sucker! Also, I hit a bludger so hard once, I almost broke mu club! Man, what a day...
(ooc: i hope that wasn't too short.)

When I was suspected of robbery I was so nervous. My smile didn't help so I was arrested. When they found the real person I was released from jail. Everyone looked at me different and no one trusted me. Then when I came back home from Hogwarts I saw that my dad threw all my things out into the driveway and told me he didn't want me anymore. The crime that I was accused of I didn't do but I am always treated like the one who robbed it. My dad has forgiven me of the crime I didn't commit, so I lived with him a for a month and then go back to my mom.
(this is all about what happened after the crime.)

I Loved flying since childhood but as the MoM didnt allow underage wizards to fly i had to sit when my brother played with his friend...In my second year i got selected for the house quidditch team....in the year's summer i was bought a new nice broom by my father to practise....whoop! i started flying like a bird with the broom turning at my every little swerve.....it was a nice experience...one day i was playing with my brother and his friends...i had the quaffle in my hand....i raced past michael and then past jimmy and then i dived and rose very steeply and thats when i made my special move: 'INVERTE' which i use still now in the quidditch matches...i scored and from that day onwards i was a renowned quidditch player among those guys....
