Alana ran down the hall she had just stormed out of the Great Hall after recieving a letter from her Muggle boyfriend. Or ex-boyfriend as he now was. He had sent a letter breaking up with her. Breaking up with her because he was attracted to someone else. But even worse because she was a witch. She ran until she could run no further and then sank to the floor. She opened up the letter which had been crumpled in her fist and read it once more. It said,
Alana,
I'm sorry, but I'm breaking up with you. I've found someone else. And no offense and all but you're a witch and I don't want to date a witch.
Jonathan
Tears rolled down her cheeks, and with a sudden cry of rage, Alana crumpled up the paper and threw it as far as she could. And then she just lay there sobbing. And wondering how on earth Jonathan could do this to her!

Kim stood at the top of the stars as she saw a ravenclaw girl she didnt know. She walked over to her and bent down next to her. She put her hand on her back trying to calm her down. "Hey, you okay?" She asked her. Dumb question she knew but she couldnt think of anything else.

As she walked towards the Great Hall, Keaira heard a loud sob echo from somewhere near the stairs. Angling herself to watch, she stood behind a large statue of some famous old bat and saw Kim approach a Ravenclaw she didn't know—evidently, the one who had been crying.

Alana felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. It was a girl. A Slytherin. 'Are you okay?' the girl asked. "No" said Alana. "My boyfriend just broke up with me. The letter is over there" She went to retrieve the letter and brought it back so the other girl could read it. "What's your name?" she asked, tears still running down her cheeks.

Kim took the letter "Im Kim" she told her. She read the letter and was pretty discusted by it. "How can anyone do that?" she said. Kim took out a tissue and wiped away the girls tears. "Hey stop crying. You'll be okay. This guy doesnt seem worth crying over" She smiled at her and lead her towards a windowsill so she could sit down. "want to talk about it?"

Nonchalantly, Keaira walked out from behind the statue and crossed paths with Kim and the Ravenclaw. She stopped, pretending to only just notice the girl's tears, and stood awkwardly before them.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," she said quietly. "But...has something happened?"

Alana smiled gratefull. "Thanks Kim" she sighed. "Well I guess I should have known that he would do this becasue when I told him that i was a witch... he didn't seem to happy about it... but... still, i didn't think it would bother him this much." She gave a sigh of frustration and anger and turned to face Kim, "How could Jonathan do this to me?" She asked angrily, her amber eyes glistening with unshed tears. "How?"

Alana sniffled and turned to the newcomer. It was a Gryffindor. "No" She said ruefully. "My asshole boyfriend just dumped me!" and handed over the letter so the girl could read it.

Kim sat next to her. "He's a muggle isnt he? No offence to them but he probably reacted all wierd when he found out you were a witch. He probably believes all the old wives tales about us. Its nothing youve done and besides.. He's a guy. Guys are pigs" she looked at her "Though i dont know how any person can do something like that to another person. Guys are like bushes.. another one will be along in five minutes" she smiled, trying to make her laugh. "Long lines of them. Male species.. you can find them anywhere. And there will be people in your life.. in all of ours, that dont understand who we are and dont want to accept it. But there will be people who will accept us for who we are. Just got to keep looking" she said

Keaira read the letter through quickly, raising an eyebrow at its typical nature.
"Guys ought never break up with their girlfriends through letters," she said flatly. "Especially not letters of such poor quality. 'No offense,' indeed; he's clearly not worth your time."

Alana smiled at Kim's encouraging words. "Thanks." she said. "I still don't understand how he could do this to me though. God! I hate that asshole!" she hissed angrily through gritted teeth.
