She breathed in and out slowly trying hard to kill the growing nausea brewing in her stomach. She reached for the glass of water Lisa had given her earlier and she sipped it slowly till only a small fraction of it was left.

"Nah. I'll be fine." she said and smiled at him. "I think I'm going to rest." she moved under the blanket more and closed her eyes a small smile still there. She soon fell asleep.

Lisa awoke suddenly, panting as she gripped the pillow a layer of sweat covering her body. For the past week, she had been having nightmares filled with looming trees and murky shadows. Closing her eyes, she let out a choked sob, trying her hardest to be quiet.
She wondered if she'd ever be able to have a good nights sleep again.
Finally recovering from the nightmare, she pulled herself into a sitting position casting a lumos! as she did. It was extremely dark and that was one of her biggest fears.
Holding it in front of her, she watched as the moon streaked distorted rays of light into the room, combining with those off her wand. Sighing, she turned to Kandler then Alondra, who had fallen asleep, her body burrowed deep within the covers.
"You just sat there all this time in the absolute dark?" She said to Kandler, her eyes worried and slightly stressed.

When Lisa's wand emitted light Alondra was half awake and she turned to the darker side of the room and pulled the covers over her head. For a moment or two she didn't move but then got too warm under the cover and she pulled the blankets off of her head.

Lisa heard the rustle of the covers and bit her lip, "Nox!" She whispered, the light on her wand going out. She turned to Alondra, and offered a smile, huddling to her knees in the dark, glad for the soft moonlight.
"Sorry for waking you."

Alondra sat up a bit her eyes looked a little dazed. "What time is it?" she asked noticing Kandler seemed to have stayed up after all. She looked over at Lisa who seemed a little frightened. Alondra reached to the end table and lit the lamp for her.

Lisa sighed in relief as the light washed over them. Still looking out the window, she smiled, before turning to Alondra. "I'm not sure, late by the looks of it." Then, her gaze fell to the floor.
"Thanks," she added, a bit embarrassedly, referring to the lamp.

"We all have our fears." Alondra told her. "Some more extreme than others, but they're all imprtant." She had told this once to her younger brother Charles before she had left for school. He older brother Trent had laughed. She felt it was true no matter who laughed at it.

Kandler had only nodded to Lisa. "I told you. I am not big on sleeping." He then sat back in the shadows of the night watching the two of them speak

Lisa grinned at Alondra, relieved that she hadn't thought her weak and silly. She was quiet for a moment, before turning to Kandler.
"I didn't mean to fall asleep," she said with a sigh, "But I was so tired, I'm sorry for leaving you up alone."

Kandler smiled. "Don't be sorry. You needed sleep and I needed to think. So we are both even."

She smiled at the two, once again becoming overwhelmed with a sense of safety around them. "So...did you have enough time to think?" she asked him.

Kandler nodded. "Aye. I had a good hour or so." He stared at Alondra.

She smiled feeling his eyes fall on her. She felt a little awkward but in a good way. She said nothing for the longest time.
