"Unicorns hair!?" she began laughing, "No, no my friend. Sphinx hair... although I am slightly surprised about it's magical preference. You see, I thought your wand would lean towards Defense Against the Dark Arts, or perhaps Potions... Sphinx hair is known for it's Transfiguration abilities though." she pondered a moment. "Ah, well, I suppose that's the randomness of life." she shrugged, "And there's no such thing as an ordinary wand. Every wand has a special quirk just like every witch or wizard has their own unique personality. Remember that."

"Well, I haven't done much transfiguration." Jerred admitted. "I rarely get a chance to wield a spell in DADA, always seems to be you and Malfoy. Potions, well I rarely get a chance to excell in that."

"Yep, I said it so you should do it," she smirked. "I bet with a wand like that, and will power like yours, you could even pull of self-transfigurations... with proper training of course but... blah, what do I know?" she shrugged slightly, "Och well, such is life and all that jazz..."

"I don't know, self transfiguration isn't always about looks. Sometimes you can transfigure yourself to look like something else. I lamp post, a buggy, a lion... I don't know all the details, but you might talk to one of the professors if you're interested."
