Kieron entered the library with a dismayed look on his face, a filled-out letter addressed to him in one hand and a quill and piece of parchment in the other. Once again, his parents had sent him a letter and he had procrastinated for about a week or so to write them back. But, he figured that he might as well get the letter writing over with. Taking a seat at a nearby table, he took the letter from his parents and scanned over it.
Dearest Kieron,
We hope this letter gets to you all right. Lately your father and I have been very busy with our jobs, so we hope that you'll forgive us for not writing. How has Hogwarts been? Hopefully you are getting good grades on your papers, you wouldn't want to look bad when you apply for a wizarding job in the future, would you? We certainly hope not. Amelia misses you dearly. She always glances around for you, hoping that you will come home. Your father has been taking good care of her for you though, so theres no need to be worried or anything. Are you coming home for the holidays this year? Let us know. Do your best!
Love, your Mother and Father.
The sixth year sighed dully and fingered the letter. It wasn't that he necessarily hated his parents. He cared for them, sure. But they expected too much out of him. They expected him to get a good wizarding job, and become a great wizard in their footsteps. But, he knew that he probably wouldn't match their expectations even if he did get good grades. They expected him to be perfect. And no one was. Which basically screwed it for him. And he didn't want a fancy wizarding job like they wanted him to get. Which had led him and his parents to many a great arguements about his future. He just wanted to be an ordinary wizard, maybe get a job in Hogsmede or write a book to be published. And possibly travel a little bit, of course.
Taking his half-way filled letter and his quill, he brought out a bottle of ink to use, always liking to write by hand of course, and started working on his letter again. Maybe, just maybe, he'd get it finished. But probably not. Chuckling as he wrote, he thought of his ferret Amelia back home. His parents had protested him getting one, but she was a good pet and was dear to him. He hadn't seen her though since he left for school, but she always lingered on the back of his mind. He should've brought her along with him. Oh well. He'd remember next year, or pick her up if he came home for the holidays.
The library was awfully quiet, but as he wrote, Kieron wondered in the back of his mind if he was the only one there.

Helia was wandering through the shelves of books, muttering under her breath "Not one single stinking book on wand making... Plenty on the wands of famous witches and wizards... not one on how to make them though... what a useless library..." she decided that if she couldn't find a book on how to make wands, perhaps she could muster up some sort of knowledge by reading books about the superstitions about different trees and animals... "Maybe I can still put something together..." she bit her lip and grabbed three books 'Herbology throughout Mythology', 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them', and 'The wands of the greats: the tools that aided famous wizards and witches'.
'Not that it'll help much, but who knows...' she sighed and trudged over to her usual table, but noticed there was already someone there. "Hey Kieron." she said smiling at the Gryffindor. "Who're you writing to?" she asked, staring curiously at the ink bottle, quill and parchment. She also noticed the slightly distressed look on Kierons face as he read the letter in his hand.

Kieron gave a polite smile as a hello as he placed down his quill, looking to Helia as he heard her voice. Maybe he just needed a break from writing his letter to his parents for a for a little while, although he always took them. Oh well. It could wait, couldn't it? Besides, his parents were probably busy with their jobs anyways and not even thinking about him sending back a reply letter. "Hello Helia. Oh, this? I'm just writing a letter to my parents." The wizard sighed as he looked back to the letter, then back at the Ravenclaw. "It's always such a pain to write to them, you know? They expect way too much out of me. I can even read it in their letters." Sighing yet again, he shook his head as he gently tossed his parents letter away from him. Looking at the books in her arms with a slightly raised eyebrow, he chuckled. "I see you've decided to do some studying possibly?"

She looked at the books and thought a moment, Kieron seemed trustworthy enough, but if this turned out bad she didn't want him to get in trouble, "Err, yeah, we'll call it that." she chuckled. "Trying to follow in the footseps of my uncle." she shrugged. "Did you know there's not a single book in this library about wand making? It's so annoying." she dropped the books onto the table with a thick 'THUD' and she smirked, "I love the way people always jump and stare when books are dropped. It makes a great sound besides." she sat down across from the Gryffindor, "And just so you know, everyones parents are like that. My Dad wants me to become an auror, my mom wants me to be the first female ministress of magic." she rolled her eyes, "I'd be happy getting a nice little shop in Dioagon Alley... or maybe Hogsmeade... Hogsmeade has a much calmer feel to it... Eh, I'll figure all that out when I graduate."

Kieron had the sudden urge to hug Helia, but he decided not to. It wasn't in his personality anyways. Chuckling though, he gave a rare grin, knowing that he could probably trust Helia in return. "Finally! Someone that I can relate to somehow!" He exclaimed and laughed quietly, picking up the letter from his parents again and wanting to tear it in half, but decided not to. He still had to reply to it, after all. "I know. I shouldn't be so concerned about my parents, since most students parents are like that, it's just..they always pressure me so much to do good i'm afraid i'll screw up somehow. And it really frustrates me and takes me to my boiling point, so I argue with them a lot. They want me to get a good wizarding job, be a better wizard than they were, and so on. They're probably why I have such a bad temper at times."
He could only shake his head again and sigh.
"So yes. I don't exactly have the perfect relationship with them, if you know what I mean. And, like you somewhat, I just want to get a small job or travel and see places, and not have a fancy wizarding job like they want me to." Pausing for a minute, he continued on with a sheepish look. "Ugh, i'm talking on and on, aren't I? Sorry about that. But that is really great that you want to follow in your uncles footsteps. Making wands is a pretty good choice for something to do if thats what you want to do in life." Looking suddenly at the shelves, his eyes shifted back and forth. "Are you sure you can't find any books on wand making?"

(ooc: Go for it. lol)
"Yeah, but it's okay, it's kind of nice not being the one rambling for once." she chuckled, "Actually there are four books about it, but they're all in the restricted section. I checked the catalogue this morning." she sighed, "I can understand the adults not wanting us kids making wands for the heck of it, but I'm still going to try and get Wigglyfish to give me a note so I can look for them." shrugging slightly she started to read through the index of 'Herbology throughout Mythology'. "Well, if and when you go travelling, if you end up in France and meet a guy named Alec, punch him for me, eh?" she said it jokingly, but in her head she was hoping that Kieron really might meet her brother and punch him.

ooc; *Laughs* What she said. xD
Kieron offered a friendly laugh once again. "Alec? Sure. My parents like going to France once in awhile and take me along most of the time, so if I see him, i'll make sure to." He replied jokingly and with a chuckle, picking up his quill and writing a few more things on his letter. "Ah. Hmm. Well, i'm sure that if you ask the headmistress, she would probably give you permission to get them if you have a good reason." The wizard agreed, dipping his quill into the ink bottle and pressing it down on the paper again. He was so close to finishing! He'd probably get it done. "She's pretty reasoning when it comes to those things, right?"

"Yeah... I'm not sure if my reason is very reasonable though." she wondered how difficult it would be to explain the situation, but decided to just leave off there for the moment. She'd be thinking about how to explain it if Kieron asked, though since he knew Professor Algernon fairly well (from what she could tell) he probably knew most of the story, but still...

The sixth year chuckled. "Well, you shouldn't worry too much about it. You never know." He replied, finally finishing with his letter to his parents. Taking his wand and flicking it lightly, a small envelope appeared in his hand as he placed the letter into it, sealing it and writing on the front. "To Mother and Father." He said aloud somewhat with a slight air of annoyance, setting it down on the table and getting up from his chair suddenly, wandering to the nearest bookshelf. "Hmm. Any that you would recommend?" He asked with a chuckle.

"That all depends on what you're wanting to read about." she smiled, "You kind of seem like the type of person who would enjoy something on... human intrigue? Unless someone has moved it there should be a book on the second shelf, twelfth from the left titled 'Mannerisms of the rich and famous'. It has all sorts of interesting factoids about famous wizards and witches over the past twenty years. You should read some of the stuff they've got on famous Quidditch players. It's insane."

Taking soft footsteps, Kieron made his way to where she had said the book was, his robes skirting against the ground as he did so. Smiling, he took the book off the shelf. It was right where she said it was. "Well, actually, you're quite right. Sometimes human intrigue well..intrigues me?" He laughed, sitting back down at the table and opening up the book, his eyes widening at some of the facts that lay within. "Wow! Biggest quidditch score by a professional player, best quidditch player of all time..Hmm.." He flipped through the pages, intrigued indeed.

"The rumours they have on the players are neat too. Check out the big fib of '98 for Barry Ryan." she said, remembering her favorite player on the Irish quidditch team. The rumour had been that he was secretly married with twelve children, to a woman in Bulgaria by the name of Nelleke Schuyler. The rumours were stopped when he proposed to one Aideen Miller at the '99 games, but it still made her laugh.

Kieron turned the page, his eyes scanning for the name. When he found the information about Barry Ryan, along with many other fantastic rumors about Quidditch players, he laughed heartily at the fibs that were told about him and the others. "For Merlins sake, Barry Ryan having twelve children? Thats incredible. It's amazing how rumors like those can actually be sent about and belived by so many wizards. Rumors aren't too bad for a laugh or two now and then though." The Gryffindor shook his head and grinned as he continued on looking through the pages. "Not to mention they start up good conversations, if it's not too bad of course."

"Yeah, some of the rumours can get pretty raunchy..." she shrugged. "But then again, most things like that are open to interpretation and only become raunchy if the person reading them wants them to be. But I find them all very humorous," she chuckled to herself.
