Ron sighed, staring at his transfiguration homework with a sigh. Taking out a quill, he wrote a sentence and read it over at least twenty times before grimacing and erasing it, leaning back in his seat glumly.
Then, pushing his work away with a somewhat mischievous grin, he picked up his latest Quidditch book and began to read, his homework neglected at the farthest place possible from him on the table.

Rakki took a deep breath and looked over at the student who was reading a Quidditch book. She needed help with transfiguration and she was hoping he would help her. "U-um, excuse me," Rakki said, walking up to the table and smiling softly at him. "I'm sorry, but can you please help me with transfiguration? I've been looking all over the library but can't seem to find anything that can help, so," She minutely bowed her head before looking back up at him. "Can you please help me?"

Ron looked at the girl surprised, setting his Quidditch book on the table in front of him. Then, noticing she looked rather awkward, he smiled gently at her, gesturing to the seat beside him.
"Of course I can!" He said cheerfully, looking at his own neglected homework with a slight grin. "Though, I warn you- I'm not the greatest person to come to for homework help!" He said, nodding his head to his own rotting essay.

Rakki's smile widened a bit as she placed her stuff down and sat by him. "T-thank you very much, I'm sure it shouldn't take up too much of your time. I have most of it done." She spread out a parchment on the table and began explaining her problem. "I can't ecatly remember the hand movement thingy for turning water into ink."

Ron leaned over, a thoughtful frown on his face as he quickly read over the spell, smiling as he remembered attempting the exact same magic in his first year at Hogwarts.
Then, he looked over the girl and grinned, "I'm Ron by the way," he said, shifting in his seat to get a better look at the parchment. "Alright, here's what we do, swish your wand to the left and when that's completed, drag it to the right."
Noticing the girl's wand on the table, he held it out to her before pulling out his own. While she was watching him, he did a quick swish and drag movement, making sure his wand traveled to the right. Looking back at the girl, he smiled slightly and gave a small nod.

"Oooh," Rakki took her wand from his hand and tried the movement a few times. She smiled in triumph when she got it right after the fifth try. "Yes!" She placed her wand down on the table and rubbed the back of her head. "I'm Rakki, and, ano, don't let the house fool you." She bowed her head at him before looking back up at him. "I'm actually a really nice person."

Alana who had silently been listening to the conversation walked up and said "I can definitely vouch for that!" then turned gave the first year a hug. "Hey, Rakks! How ya doin?"

Ron's grin faded slightly, just noticing the Slytherin badge on the front of the Rakki's robes. His expression turned into one of thoughtful suspicion before he noticed how sincere she sounded. His smile returned and he shrugged, about to reply, when a new girl approached them.
"I'm sure she is," he said, his grin reappearing, looking at the newcomer. "Glad to see the spell worked!" He added looking at Rakki with an approving glance.

Rakki felt more at ease when Alana showed up. "Yes, yes, and all with your help. Thank you sooooo much." She smiled at him. "If you need any help with anything, I am at your service." She gave him a small sweeping bow (as best as she could) and chuckled softly.

Ron laughed, "You'd make a good house elf." He said playfully, picking up his own books and opening them. "Though, I'm fine, I think." He added, smiling. Then remembering the other girl, he turned towards her and held out his hand. "Never properly introduced ourselves," he said with in a friendly tone, "I'm Ron."

"Really?" Rakki made a weird face before smiling. "Mum prolly wouldn't think so. She's contantly hounding me to pick up stuff." She looked down and rubbed the back of her head. "I keep tellin' her that the floor is also a shelf for my stuff but she doesn't listen."

Ron looked over at Rakki and couldn't help but laugh, "A shelf, huh?" He said with a grin, "That's a new one. My rooms just as messy, if not more, I'm sure. In fact, we could use a house-elf at home," He added, somewhat wistfully. "It'd help with all that degnoming we have to do." He shuddered.

Rakki cracked her knuckles. "I hate those things. One bit my brother once, it wasn't pretty. I've never seen him get that mad before." She wiggled her fingers and grinned distantly. "Ever since he's been pelting them with rocks. It's pretty amusing to see the gnomes and my brother go at it, it can drag on for a few hours." Rakki shook her head. "Buh 'nough of that." She leaned over a bit to see the book he had in his hand. "Are you any good at the sport?"

Ron laughed, "You should see my brothers and I give it a try- It gets pretty out of control," He smiled, feeling a little homesick, before gesturing to his book, a faint blush on his cheeks. "Oh, quidditch... Well, I like to think i'm alright- Not on the team though. How about you?"
