"Not true!" Grace was sitting next to Lisa, eyeing one of her scones, "think of it this way, it could always be worse. And if you've hit rock bottom, it can only get better!" she said squeaking on the last word.

Lisa blinked, bewildered, before turning her attention to the girl beside her. Then, laughing slightly, she nodded. "That is absolutely true!" She said, finishing off one of her scones and pushing the plate toward Grace with a friendly smile. "Go ahead, I have tons... I, er, am a bit of a scone fiend you can say..." She said trailing off a bit amusedly, before offering a hand to the other girl.
"I'm Lisa, by the way."

Lisa couldn't help but let out a laugh, and slumped back in her seat, watching the girl with amused eyes, "You too!" She replied, picking up a scone for herself as a stray chuckle escaped her mouth.

Lisa smiled, before letting out a shrug and a sigh. "Not too good, if this morning is any indication..." She said, letting one of her elbows rest on the table. "Though, I'm thinking of maybe going Hogsmeade and getting a new quill- The feather's on mine are falling apart." She said warily, "How about yours?"

"Humph!" Grace shrugged, "don't know yet! Probably going to walk by the lake, get a little homework done there, actually not so sure."

Nodding, Lisa smiled. "That sounds quite nice, actually... The lake's always really pretty in the winter,"

"Yeah," Grace smiled, "I love the lake! Usually pretty quiet down there! Maybe get some quidditch practice done! ... now that I think about it."

"Yeah, Hufflepuff really does need to start practicing!" She said thoughtfully, her gaze landing on a first year eagerly scooping out butter from the small dish on the table. "Come to think of it, I need to practice too!" She said, thinking of maybe going to the Quidditch pitch later that day.

"Well maybe we should practice together!?" Grace picture herself trying to fly on her broomstick- in her mind she looked rather funny! She took a glass of pumpkin juice and sipped it.

Nodding, Lisa grinned, "You know what, that's a great idea... I haven't practiced since I got here!" Then, collecting her books, she smiled. "Did you want to go to the pitch later today, then?"

"Sounds like a plan!" Lisa said with a bright smile, pushing some hair out of her eyes and swinging her bag over her shoulder. "See you in a bit!" She said cheerfully, nervous to go flying, but excited all the same. Then with a final wave, she hurried away.

Grace watched Lisa go, then looked at her empty plate. She look a slice of toast, took a bite, and walked quickly out of the hall.
