Grace Marks plopped herself down at the Hufflepuff table for lunch and held her head in her hands with her elbows on the table. Her once clean uniform was now dotted with green and orange hissing and smoking splatters. Her once auburn-blond hair was a violent shade of purple, hanging limp in her face. Grace was smart and a hard worker but for her to flunk a class was uncharacteristic; this day was not going well. Since she fell out of bed this morning nothing had gone her way, today was not her day!

Lisa sat at the house table, not really noticing anything around her. Subconsciously, she began placing odd items on her plate before pouring herself some juice, her mind occupied with straying thoughts of a bit of home sickness and random thoughts about Fin that she couldn't help. Biting her lip, she smiled and took a sip of her juice, her eyes finally taking notice of the groaning girl sitting in front her her.
Eyes widening, Lisa choked on her juice and let out a few coughs before setting her cup back on the table. Her gaze lingered on the girl's purple hair for a moment, before she looking at her robes, stunned.
"Errr... Bad day?"

Grace was stund to find that someone even noticed her. "The purple hair give it away?" She looked up and smiled slightly, "you get those kind of days?"

Lisa grinned sympathetically, and moved so she was sitting beside the other girl. "Definitely- Can't help bad days! Though, we can fix this..." She said, her hand gesturing to the dirtied robes. With a small reassuring smile, she waved her wand around.
"Scourgify!"
The robes instantly cleaned themselves, looking good as new. Then, looking up at the purple hair hanging in the girl's face, she let out a small friendly laugh, "Don't know what to do about the hair, however... Was it a spell?"

"Spell! Ran past some sixth years who thought I looked pretty funny but incomplete! So they did this!" She drew her fingers through her hair trying to get it vaguely alright looking. "But i actually like this colour! What do you think?" She sat up straight and smiled at Lisa.

Grinning, Lisa nodded. "It's unique! You don't see people with purple hair everyday." Then, putting away her wand, she sat down more comfortably. "Actually, it suits you brilliantly! Planning on keeping it?" She asked curiously, "It's actually pretty cool," she said, smiling encouragingly.

Grace laughed! "Yeah, I'll keep it! Father would have a heart attack on the spot if he saw me! Definitely keeping it!" Grace took a scone and buttered it before adding, "those sixth years shold get quite a laugh out of this!"

Lisa laughed as well, finally taking a bite of the egg salad sandwich sitting on her plate. Then, looking back at Grace, she grinned, "I think half the teachers will have their fair shares of a few heart attacks, too!"

"Yeah! Those will give us quite a few laughs!" Grace giggled. "Maybe that'll get me out of Astronomy later!"

"Oh yeah? I've never been to that class," Lisa said thoughtfully, looking over at the professor's table, glancing around for the Astronomy teacher. "I'm guessing I should stay away with how reluctant you seem to go to it," She added with a grin.

"It's actually really interesting," Grace said, "and really fun, but those mid-night classes really take it out of you."

Lisa's grin faded and was replaced with a slight grimace. "I can imagine, though it must be nice- The stars, I mean." She said with a slight smile.

"Yeah," Grace said dreamily, "stars are truly amazing things! And out of big cities plus being in the tower makes them seem near enough to touch..." she stretched out her arm as if trying to grab one of those distant stars "... just like ... this muffin!" She grabbed a blueberry muffin before a first year could. Grace grinned at the first year and said, "Hi!" at the indignant look on the small girls face.
She looked back at Lisa, "I feel like I'm doing all the talking, what subjects do you enjoy?"
