Kim turned her back and began walking "No wonder" she said "So far stuck up your own anal hole" She muttered to herself. "Im not forgetting why we are here. Im trying to make you presence at least a little bit fun! You make my skin crawl!"

Draco's steps faltered and he glanced quickly at Rivers before narrowing his eyes and walking toward her at a hurried pace, finally landing in step with her.

"You can't expect me to be enjoyable right before we tear each other apart." He said matter-of-factly, pulling down the sleeves of his robes that had ridden somewhat after their tumble. Then wincing slightly at the jab in his back, he grew more irritated.

"I'm stopping right here if you don't tell me where we're going. I don't like the idea of following you into creepy clearings and not knowing where I'll end up."

Kim turned and stared a him. "Then go!" She told him "Go on go back. We're going over the hill, theres an open field just beyond the hill and through a couple of trees" She said pointing "But if you want to go back then fine! You know, i didnt want to fight you actually, i wanted to see if you had any decent bones in that body of yours and you clearly dont so hey! Why not just rip each other apart, why dont we just slaughter each other?" Kim turned around and hurried over the hill.

Draco stood still for a moment, stunned at that information, before looking back at Kim and letting out a sigh. Then, running a hand through his hair, he glanced behind him at the fence, then again at the girl. With another sigh, he dropped his hand and started walking again, quickening his pace to catch up.

"You did a fine job of that already," He said, finally, after a long pause, gesturing to the scratches on his body. After another minute of silence, he put his hands in his pockets, his palms brushing against his wand. "I don't have any nice bones in my body, you should've already figured that out," he finished, looking at her and blinking slightly as the sun got in his eyes.

Kim glanced away from him and carried on walking, "Yeah i know that." She said bitterly "Then i guess i must be wasting my time on that one. One of the best things to have are friends, yeah, you hate muggle borns and half bloods, i did at one point, and that will never change with you, or you other house hate. Though there are people in you own house you know, you dont have to be enemies with everyone! I used to hate..." She thought for a moment "Using your terms, mud bloods and half bloods. But, know what? I grew up. I was brought up like you, perfect house perfect family. Yeah, it crashed down... Exactly the same thing will happen to you! Perfectness never lasts forever, and when it crashes down! I will be the first one to say i told you so" She reached the top of the hill and looked at him. "So if im wasting my time, we'll fight then go" She said. She pointed down the other side of the hill to the trees "The clearings just down there"

Draco looked away from her, staring at the trees below them. "It doesn't matter if you're in my house," He said, choosing his words carefully, but his usual drawl evident. "You still share the same beliefs as those Gryffindors. Mine won't change, I have certain values and a way of thinking that I've lived with all my life, It's irritating when everyone tries to change that," He said dryly, shrugging his shoulders, ignoring his naive inner voice that insisted he was lying to himself.

Then, turning toward Rivers, a small smirk on his lips, he let his eyes reflect amusement. "Who says I want to be friends with someone so abusive anyway," he said somewhat teasingly, looking back at the grass beneath his feet.

Feeling his eyes harden, he looked at the trees once more. "We're not going to have to go through those trees!" He said incredulously, his steps faltering. "I swear, no respected pureblood like myself should be doing half these things."

Kim glanced back at him. "I dont share the same beliefs as Gryffindors. Half of what they believe in is total crap. And just because i talk to them doesnt mean i like them either. Some of them yeah, others i want to strangle." She looked at him "And can you honestly say that some of your values your happy with? Or is it more to the fact your scared of what your father would say if you wanted to change some part of you? Make some part of you bearable"

Kim laughed at him "Im not abusive. Not really anyway. And who says its me i was talking about?" She said seriously "Is it a good feeling? Being alone? Cause i remember that feeling well, it wasnt good. It was empty and shallow. Like you i guess" She said, her tone sounding sad. She didnt know why she was bothering trying to be nice. There just wasnt helping some people. But they were both here and she was going to try.

She raised a questioning eyebrow. "There just trees malfoy. And its only us so who's going to know really?" She began walking again before looking at him "And you'll find self respecting purebloods do do these things... Every day"

She half smiled at him. "Some people once told me, theres no shame in relying on others. Maybe you ought to think about that." She stood there for a minute, thinking what her friends had told her.

Draco narrowed his eyes when Rivers spoke of his father, stopping in his tracks and glaring at her. "My father doesn't control my life. I respect him and agree with him on many levels," He said coldly, his fists clenching as he quickly looked away, continuing the trudge toward the trees.

"I'm not lonely either," he added, straightening his composure and looking somewhat offended. "I have everything I need or could possibly want. My life is set- More than you and your friends can say. I have everything." He stood superiorly, his trademark smirk finding his lips. "I'm not empty either," he said as an afterthought, picking up some scattered snow off the ground and using it to cool the scratch on his cheek. "Like I said, I'm perfectly content with how I am in life, and the path I'm leading." He didn't look her in the eye, opting instead to look at the trees ahead of him.

"Who cares if they're just trees, I already have one scratch, I hope it doesn't scar! My poor face," He groaned, shaking his head. "How did you ever talk me into this."

Kim shrugged and sighed. "Whatever. You carry on and become bitter and twisted and have to BUY people like dear old pops does" Kim glared at him.

"Perfectly content? yeah right!" Kim began to run down the hill. She didnt stop or wait for Malfoy. She reached the bottom and found a tree stump. Sitting down on it she looked up the hill. Malfoy wasnt moving. "Stubborn little.."

Draco watched Kim race down the hill, somewhat dumbfounded, before glaring. "I don't have to buy people, you silly twit, now come back! I don't exactly now how to get out of this place, and I'm certainly not going through those trees." He huffed, staring down at her from the hill. Realizing neither of them were planning on moving anytime soon, he turned around with a roll of his eyes, looking at the vast landscape with widened eyes.

Then with a grumble, he turned back around and trudged down the hill unhappily, his eyes narrowing at Rivers' smug look.

An unearthly roar shook the trees as a huge Hungarian Horntail pawed his way out of the woods. He paused to exhale a little smoke agitatedly, and his gaze settled on the tiny human female in front of him. His long, snakey tongue licked over his sharp teeth as he pounced, pinning her to the ground with gigantic talons and breathing smoke into her face. Both of her arms were locked solidly at her sides and Kim squirmed.

Kim turned around just in time, but a little too late to see a huge dragon rushing at her. She tried to move out of its way but it caught her, forcing her to the ground. Kim was trapped underneath the giant weight of the dragon. She could barely breathe. She closed her eyes, knowing Malfoy wouldnt back her up, and cringed.

Watching the scene from above on a ridge overlooking a peaceful meadow surrounded by trees of unnatural curviture, Leigh managed to stifle a laugh at the display before him. Folding his arms intent on seeing how Kim would react to the situation, and seeing whether Draco would help her. He held his wand in his hand as he readied himself to distract the dragon if it got too dangerous, though dragons are unpredictable creatures or immense strength.

Stopping meters away from Rivers, Draco's eyes widened as a large dragon pinned her down to the ground. He stood frozen in front of the cluster of trees, staring unbelievingly at the creature as it eyed Rivers, it's sharp teeth peeking from his mouth in a most menacing manner.

A loud growl knocked him out of his stupor and he quickly reached inside his robes anxiously, his fingers trembling as they took a hold of his wand. His eyes, still wide and focused on the large beast, quickly glanced around at their surroundings before landing on Rivers' nervous, resigned form.

Finally, he held out his wand with a shaking arm, his mind racing with the many spells and hexes his father had taught him. None of them seemed to fit this particular situation and he cursed, noticing he was loosing the dragon's attention which was returning to the girl pinned beneath it.

Then, suddenly, he remembered his last Defense lesson with Addis. He had mastered the two spells long before his lesson, sure, but it was during his lesson that he had used it against dragons. Taking a deep breath, he aimed his wand at the talons holding Rivers down.

"Incarcerous"

His voice, strained and unsure, was the only sound in the forest other than the snarling dragon, and instantly ropes tied themselves around the large front legs and Draco tried his hardest to pull them off Rivers, once again capturing the dragon's attention. It roared with annoyance, flinging it's large body around, and for a fraction of a second, let go of the girl to free itself from the ropes, leaving the girl minimal time to escape.

Draco let out a yelp as the Horntail's weight finally caused him to tumble to the ground, the ropes releasing their hold and Draco skidding the the floor, thinking vaguely of how this was all Rivers' fault.

Stupid fences. Stupid trees. Stupid blood-thirsty dragons.
