[CR: R] The Ravenclaw Common Room

[Helia Ollivander]

Halo walked into the Ravenclaw common room and sat down in an overstuffed blue armchair by the fireplace. She pulled out her potions book and started studying for her next lesson.

[deborah]

(OOC: Why are these chairs always 'overstuffed'?)

Deb emerged from the girls' staircase to find the common room empty except for one other girl. She sat down a little way away, deciding not to speak unless spoken to. O shyness t'is an irritating thing, particularly as she wanted to ask whether her eyes had served her correctly and Helia had really been flirting with Chase earlier.

[Helia Ollivander]

(OOC: because then they're squishier. YAY!)

She looked at another girl who had just entered the common room, "Hi. I'm Helia." she said with smile. "You're in the same potions class as me, aren't you?" she asked thinking the girl looked very familiar.

[deborah]

Deb looked up and smiled back. "Hi Helia, I'm Deb. Yeah, I am." She nodded to the book. "You a potions fan?"

[Helia Ollivander]

"I want to be, but currently I don't know how good I am." she shrugged, "I'm better with transfigurations. You?"

[deborah]

Deb thought for a moment. "I don't know... on paper I'm pretty much good at all of it, but I don't really put enough forward in class to do that well." She blushed and changed the subject. "I saw you and Chase doing that animal stuff outside with Addis earlier; it looked like fun."

[Helia Ollivander]

She smiled broadly, putting her book down, "It's amazing!" she nearly jumped out of her chair. "I mean, hard. Very hard, but... I mean..." the words she wanted to say weren't in any language as far as she knew. "It's hard to understand, and to get the hang of, but I'm sure that when I do it will be insanely woderful." she hoped that what she had said made sense. It was confusing even to her, but just the idea of it was thrilling.

Deb leaned back in her chair, smiling at Helia's enthusiasm. "Well the professor seemed pretty impressed with you... when he wasn't glaring at Chase that is. I hope you get it soon." Pulling a piece of parchment and a raven-black self-inking quill out of her bag, she started to write at the same time as asking: "Have you met our Head of House yet? There's an enigma if ever I saw one." Thoughtfully, she added, "Well, maybe a little too transparent to be an enigma exactly, but interesting nonetheless."

[Helia Ollivander]

She chuckled, "Unfortunatly, no. But I hope to. He sounds fascinating. Have you gotten to meet him?"

[deborah]

Deb grinned, glancing up as she finished a line of the letter she was writing. "Oh indeed I have. I had Divination with him, and we didn't actually get any work done. At all. He spent half the lesson sparring verbally with Chase and the other half fawning over that E'Drien guy from Gryffindor. Something is definitely going on there. I don't think there was anyone in that tower who missed the, ah, 'tension' between those two."

[Helia Ollivander]

She laughed, "That must've been amusing, and I think I'm glad I missed it. Of course I still have to do the homework, but it seems simple enough."

[deborah]

Deb raised an eyebrow, interest piqued by Helia's reaction. "Actually it was kind of cute. As for the homework, I'm dreading that, to be honest." She pulled a face for a moment. "I have no idea what to write, but I know I'll have to do something or he'll take points off."

[Helia Ollivander]

"I'm doing mine on Saturn, I think Chase might be as well, but who knows?" she shrugged.

[deborah]

"I thought I'd do Venus, seeing as the basic connotations are relatively obvious, but I think I might have to bluff most of it." Deb yawned and stood up. "I think I might finish this letter upstairs, I'm kind of tired. See you."

[Helia Ollivander]

"Later." she said waving as Deb left. She picked her book back up and continued reading.
