(LK)Night By The lake

[Kim Rivers]

It was late and Kim couldnt sleep. She walked down the the lake and lay down on the grass. She glanced up into the sky, perfectly clear evening. So clear she could even see Mars. There werent many stars around to look at, but it was a quiet place to be during the dark. Not many students go outside after dark. She closed her eyes for a breif moment before opening them again. She wasnt going to fall asleep outside.

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

Algernon comes up silently behind Kim, having just come from his office. He sits down next to her, tilting his head back to look as well. "Good night, Ms. Rivers." He greets finally "See anything interesting?"

[Kim Rivers]

She lay there with her arms behind her head acting as a pillow "Yeah, its a nice night." she shrugged slightly "Danger is still there in the stars, not clear like it was before. It could mean anything though, magical world is full of dangers... could even be nothing. Theres not many stars out so its more than likely nothing. maybe a dog in danger of being ran over or something" she sat silently for a minute "And mars... It glows red, obviously, kinda pretty... Relaxing aswell" She laughed

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

Algernon laughs softly. "You have the talant, yes. But you aren't listening. You're just looking with your eyes.

He points to a cluster of stars, standing out brightly in the sky above the forest. "What do they say?"

[Kim Rivers]

"I dont know, i cant really understand it. They sound, well to me they sound confused, ancient something or other. Centaurs. Fights" she shook her head "I dont know, i havnt been doing this long so i guess im not really good at it yet."

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

Algernon shrugs, leaning back to lie in the grass, his arms crossed beneath his head. The stars sing to him.

"I don't know. I could always hear them, but I was born into it. It'll come to you, I think, if you listen."

[Kim Rivers]

She tried listening. She heard something. Soft. Whispering. "There whispering i think. Kinda softly, but distressed. I keep hearing things about centaurs. Is something up with the centaurs professor?"

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

Algernon chuckles. "Everything in the stars is about centaurs. Atleast the centaurs think so." He shrugs. "It'll come. I'll teach you."

He is quiet for a while.

"You know... when you were posessed..." he stops, biting his lip, unsure of whether he should bring up the event.

[Kim Rivers]

She smiled "Like extra lessons?" she asked and then hearing him bring up the subject of her possession she shuffled uneasily. "Yeah.. possessed Kim... was a great topic for conversation once upon a time. Now its like its never happened, even the people who were involved. I still have nightmares"She glanced at him "Its okay though, i dont mind it being brought up once in a while"

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

"Well... yes, extra lessons, but not as a punishment! Just to hone this skill... it won't be taught much in your lessons as you really do need a base talent to do it at all."

"But... well... I'm not sure how much about it you remember, but before Professer Freundschaft broke your wand --over my eyes--" He scowls, "you know, I tried to... legilimens you. I'm pretty good at it, so even in my weakened state I was able to... see some things."

He props himself up on an elbow, looking at her imploringly. "I mean, I wasn't trying to look around inside your head. I was trying to see if I could get the things out, it just... happened that way."

[Kim Rivers]

"Extra lesson could be quite cool"

She shifted and her head fell forward. "I remember everything. Its just stuck with me" she lifted her head up to look at him. "I remember you taking the pendant. Me losing my cool. Helia trying to do a very nasty curse on me. Me pinning Jinesh up against the wall by his robes. Escaping and finding you. Throwing the games keeper against the wall. Throwing you into the room you came out of... And everything else. I remember my wand being broken... Nasty evil glares i got off people. The wall falling down and crushing me. I still have a nasty bruise and a cut.. And i still have the mark the pendant left on me. I just wish i didnt remember." She glanced over the lake. "I never realised you perfomed leglimens though... What did you see? And yeah i know you wouldnt do it to look through my mind" she smiled and looked down at her legs again. She piped up and smiled! "Oh! Yeah i forgot! Do you know anything about other languages? Please say you do! Please!"

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

"I saw... a lot of things. Memories. Your family...? I mean, it doesn't matter so much... I just wanted to apoligize."

Algernon raises an eyebrow at her. "Well, I mean, I speak French... I was born in Paris, and I have this book I'm trying to learn to read... it's in centaur. What's this language you're talking about?"

[Kim Rivers]

Kim raised a hand and swished it a bit. Then she shook her head. "No need to apologize professor. I mean, like you said, you werent trying to pry." She smiled.

"The language and what it is... Thats kinda the problem i have. Can speak it, very fluently. I just, well i guess i dont know what it is. It frustrates me because i can speak it. I just couldnt tell you what it was. And i guess i thought you'd probably know"

[Prof. Algernon Moncrieff]

Algernon sis up, patting the pockets of his robes for a piece of parchment and a quill. "Well... maybe you can write some of it down for me? Maybe I'll recognize it."

He stops looking, smiling at Kim apologeticly. "Er... you haven't got some parchment, have you? I don't seem to..."

[Kim Rivers]

Kim smiled. Then burst into fits of giggles. "Im sorry.. I just didnt think professors could be so forgetful." She fished in her pocked and pulled out a notepad "No parchment, but notepad." she smiled and flipped open the notepad. "Erm.. Im normally full of things to say.. but what should i write?"
