Girty was running late, in fact late did not sum it up enough she was almost in a different time zone. With pure panic she ran from the Hufflepuff common room down the empty corridors towards the classroom as she turned the corner she saw another person enter, she was not the only one.
Girty paused outside of the classroom to gain her breath back and also to listen to see what the response of the teacher was. There was no shout, no scream of lose of house points. Things might be safe for Girty to enter. Giving one last listen Girty heard the Professor ask a question, this could be her way of entering the room and not getting into to much trouble. Girty pushed open the door and closed it behind her then confidently she faced the professor and gave her answer.
“Care of magical creatures could be one.” Girty looked around and sat at the nearest table. “ simply due to the fact that being able to change something to scare or protect ones self from an animal could have its uses.”

"Indeed! But there's more than just transfiguring something that helps with Care of Magical Creatures. Say you're confronted with a werewolf; what if you could transfigure them back to their human form?" her eyes glittered as she said this. She nodded her head slowly, then quickly changed the subject, "Alright. So we know Trasfiguration is a very versatile branch of magic, but let's get back to its core, shall we? Trasfiguration, the ability to change one thing into another, or at least change the looks of one thing into another. Does the original object ever leave? Does it disappear when it's 'changed' into something else? If so, where does it go? If not, what happens? What are your thoughts, there are no wrong answers here."

When Freya first entered the classroom her eyebrows had shot up immediately at the drastic redecoration. Well, it's certainly... different. She thought to herself, biting her lip slightly in the way she often did. Looking around at the mismatch of furniture, the Ravenclaw went to sit a couple of seats behind one of the Slytherins - chosing one of the more convential looking spots in the room.
Freya hadn't been particularly vocal in the first part of the discussion, but soon found a question she had to chip in on. 'I don't think the transfigured object disappears or anything,' She started, leaning back in her chair slightly. 'I think the object stays as its always been and transfiguration is almost like an illusion... I guess, like you said, changing "the looks"...' The Ravenclaw gave a shrug.

She nodded at the girl, "That's what most people, including myself, tend to believe." She looked up at the cuckoo clock at the back of the room and smiled, "Three... two... one..." right then a chimera popped out of door, roared loudly, then ducked back inside. "Alright, that's the lesson. If any of you have any other questions concerning Transfiguration you can find me in my office. Feel free to take a sugar quill on your way out." She flicked her wand and a container of sugar quills floated over to the door, settling on a carved wooden stand beside it. She herself swept back around to the other side of the desk and sat down to finish up some paperwork.
