Will entered the pub raucously, laughing at a joke one of his friends had just supplied him with. Chuckling he said "want to get the drinks whilst I grab us a seat?" Looking around properly now he spied a vague acquaintance of his, Dax had introced them just the other day and they had got on pretty well. Both of them being friendly and happy people generally had meant they had easily struck up a lasting conversation. Smiling and waving at Girty he strolled up to her table exclaiming happily "how wonderful to see you Girty! It seems like an age since we last talked," about to take her hand and kiss it lightly he thought better of it on seeing the look of outrage on the lad's face who sat opposite her. "What's wrong might, you look like you've seen a ghost," he exclaimed with a wry grin and a wink to Girty. Quickly drawing up a chair he dragged it to the table and asked simply "having fun? It looks like you could do with another drink," signalling to his friend to bring another who shook his head with a grin but proceeded to buy another. Grinning once more at Girty and maintaining strict eye contact as he always did with those he spoke to he commented in a teasing fashion "Your complexion's a little rosy, been drinking a lot, perhaps you shouldn't have another," laughing he realised he'd been quite ignorant of the lad "wil you introduce me to the young gentleman then?" He looked quizzicaly at him and grinned pleasantly.

As Will came towards them a broad smile filled Girty’s face. Shooting a quick glance at Mort she noticed he did not appreciate the interruption but otherwise Girty did feel rather happy. “Good evening William, and no I have not drunk much just this drink which Mort brought me.”
Girty gave Mort a small smile and tilted her head in his direction as a sign of acknowledgement. She looked at Mort for a moment before looking back at Will. “Mort and I were just talking about relationships. No point asking you about it. You will most likely say something stupid. ‘Love is a many splendid thing…all you need is love.’ If I remember correctly you shouted that down the corridor while we walked to the Library with Dax.”
Girty looked at him with harsh yet playful eyes and let out a small laugh thinking that out of all of Dax’s, rather stupid friends this one was an exception. He had charm and wit and underneth it all he was as kind as anyone could be.

"He's a very kind gentleman then," commented Will, he was happy that Girty had seemingly brightened from when he had first seen her on entering the Three Broomsticks. "Indeed love is all you need, throughout all the world, it's really the most important thing...ever," he chuckled. Smiling amiably at all those around feeling totally at ease. "Man I feel like breaking into song," he was on verge indeed of singing when his friend brought over the drinks, a butterbeer for each of them "thanks Frank," taking his drink he said "cheers everyone, love all around!"

Mort sat in silence as he watched William. He listened intently as the two spoke until finally the boy stopped. He sighed, and Mort stood up to leave. He knew he didn't have a chance but he though he would try.

As Mort started to leave Girty looked over at him with her mount hanging slightly open. “Mort Wait!”
Girty slid out of her chair and walked towards Mort. She reached forward and took hold of his hand and pulled him round to look at her. Her eyes were soft as she looked into Mort’s.
“You can leave if you wish, but I have enjoyed today not just the drink but Quidditch as well. It will be a shame to leave it on such a parting as this.” With a small smile Girty moved forward and gave Mort a small kiss on the cheek before letting go of his hand and turned back to the table where Will and Frank sat.

Mort sighed and blushed slightly. He didn't want it to be like this. He wasn't going to stay by a dumb kiss. He wasn't! So Mort started walking with Girty back to the table, and he slid into his chair. He crossed his arms and sat unmoving.

As Girty sat down she looked over at Mort and saw how dissatisfied and unhappy he was. Fighting back a laugh Girty just managed it to come out as a smile. “Come on now Mort, things are not that bad. You did get a free drink out of it.”
Letting her laugh slowly escape she knew that Mort would need some encouragement after the interruption of Will and Frank. Under the table Girty starched out her leg and gave him a light playful kick in hope that she may get a smile from him.

Mort fought back a smile. The Nerve of her! he thought. He really didn't Frank and William to be here but he had to make the best of it. For Girtys sake. After all he was head over heels for her. He gave Girty a kick this time and flashed a smile at her. "Would anyone like another drink? On me of course." and he stood up waiting to get the drinks.

When Mort smiled Girty’s heart gave a small leap, Mort was slowly coming back to his normal self. The carefree and happy guy from a few hours ago when they had been playing Quidditch. “Erm…yeah ok Mort I will have another.”
Glancing down at her half full mug she gave a small laugh, picking up the drink she managed to down it in one quick go, much to the shocked look on the two Gryffindor’s face. Placing it on the table she let out a long breath getting rid of all the excess air she had picked up while having her drink.

Mort bought the drinks and set them down in front of everybody. He took a sip of his and he stood back up, grabbed the back of his chair and set it down right beside Girty. Mort was anxious now and slowly he grabbed Girtys hand and intertwined his fingers with hers. He gave her a smile and in a soft voice he spoke. " Hello you." and he stared straight into her beautiful blue eyes with a bright smile.

As Mort walked Girty could not help but smile at him and when he sat by her and took hold of her hand her heart started to pound faster then when she was flying on her broom. The warmth of his hand spread to Girty’s. She gave Mort’s hand a tight squeeze back and shot him a smile. The smile contained more nervous then signs of happiness but deep inside Girty was happy. With a small laugh Girty played along with Mort’s game.
“Why hello there stranger. Fancy seeing you here.”

Mort let out a small smile. He tried to force the butterflies in his stomach to quit flying but he couldn't. His palms were getting slightly sweaty as his nervousness rose. He couldn't help but feel nervous, because after all he was holding hands with a beautiful girl. Mort gave her hand a squeeze, and said, "Well I just blew into town and thought I would pay a beautiful woman a visit." Mort's heart ached to kiss Girty, but he didn't want to scare her off. He let another smile escape his lips and heard the pubs door open. He looked over at the entrance and almost fell out of his chair in shock. It couldn't be. It just couldn't be.

Mandrake entered the noisy pub, carrying himself a new way. After all once you die a person changes and he was no exception. He was still the same. Sort of. After he acquired a huge fortune though he seemed to have a bit of superiority to him. Mandrake went and bought himself new, fancy clothes and changed his look completely. He transformed himself into a count. Count Black. It did suit him after all. It was extremely difficult to tell who he was, but if you looked long enough you would see through the money and the fancy clothes. Mandrake smiled. It was a cruel smile that didn't suited his face. It distorted his hadnsome features. He walked over to a table in the corner of the pub and with a cold, unnerving voice he spoke to the mand sitting at it. "Mort my good man, what a pleasure to see you again." and Mandrake held out his hand as to shake, a hand that was covered in magnificent rings and jewels, but he drew it away almost instantly once he noticed who Mort was with. His gaze shifted to her. Mandrake put on that smile again, and in that same cold voice he spoke to the woman, "Ah Ms. Hubbles, a pleasure to see you." and he took a seat, paying the other two people no notice.

As Girty continued to laugh happily to herself she noticed that something had distracted Mort’s gaze. She noticed that an elegant dressed man had walked into the bar and had seemed to notice and know who they were. When he walked over Girty let go of Mort’s hand and searched for her wand. There was something about this man she did not like. The way he walked, the how he was dressed and the air around him.
When he greeted both of them her heart stopped. Fear raced through her body, as she searched faster for her wand. Her hand tightly wrapped around it waiting to pull it out if things got worse. Trying to keep her composure Girty managed to produce a voice which was shaky. “Excuse me but…how do you know my name?”

Mandrake turned to Girty. "We've met in a different life." and Mandrake let out a cold laugh. "I'm kidding. I know everybody at Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I used to live here not long ago. You can relax Ms. Hubbles." Mandrake said seeing her uneasy face. "I am your friend. As for who I am I am simply Count Black. What brings you here Ms. Hubbles?" and he gave her his full attention. This is going to be easy.
