Zachary was standing in the middle of the Quidditch Pitch, his dark hair flying wayward in the wind. It was a few weeks into the term, and he had decided he had waited long enough for his housemates to settle- They'd be having their tryouts tonight.
He had posted several notices all over the Common Room and entranced many of the younger Slytherin members with thrilling Quidditch stories in hopes to gather enough students to create a team with a full roster. He had also thrown in some bribes, completely determined to win.
His Nimbus 2000 hovered beside him, swaying slightly in the wind. With a satisfied nod, he looked back at the chest filled with the quaffle, bludgers and snitch. Everything seemed to be in order, and he took a deep breath waiting for his housemates to show up.

Tonight was the night L.C needed to show off her skills and she knew it. Firebolt in hand she walked to the pitch, seeing that the only one there beside herself was the captain. Walking up she realized that she had never met him before. "Hello" was all she said as she walked up behind him.

Zachary turned around excitedly, hoping to see a huge seventh year male. He blinked when he was met with a fragile-looking girl, but shrugged mentally and raised his eyebrows. Girls were great chasers, in any case.
After giving her a brief once-over, he looked back at her face and smirked. He knew who she was because of her prefect status, but held out his hand anyway. "Zachary Daniels, pleasure to meet you."
After a pause, he added, "Nice broom." A bit jealously.

"L.C Mericcini and thanks" she said, also smirking at this point. "Expecting someone else?" she said after noticing him give her a once-over, knowing that she didn't seem the type to play such a hands on game like quidditch.

Zachary shrugged, letting his hand drop back to his side. "Actually, I'm expecting all of Slytherin to show-up." He said haughtily. "I'll be having a word with them if they don't." He frowned, before looking back at the castle, willing another Slytherin to appear from the heavy doors.
He looked back at L.C. "What position do you plan on trying out for?" He asked dryly, "Not beater I hope."

"What's that supposed to mean?" L.C spat angrily as she gripped onto her broom tighter. She had really hoped the captain wouldn't be someone who thought she wouldn't be good enough if she was a girl. "I'm trying out for chaser anyway but that doesn't mean I'm not a fair beater." she said, her anger calming a little.

Zachary raised his eyebrows at her obvious anger, before shrugging nonchalantly. "Even I couldn't play beater, i'm too narrow." He said mildly, watching the grip on her broom tighten. "Which is why I play seeker. We play positions that we're strong in, Mericcini. I don't doubt you'd be able to play beater, but with your thin frame, you'd make a better chaser, wouldn't you agree?" He watched her carefully, before smirking.
"Save that anger for the pitch anyway, and maybe take it out on a few Gryffindors, aye?"

"Hmm.. torchering Gryffindors gets boring after a while though" L.C stated smiling. "Are they ever going to get here" she whined as she mounted her broom, spiraling up into the air. "Well what are you waiting for, it's going to be a while. Come up here and play with me" she said not knowing how wrong that could have been taken.

Jerred had reluctantly gathered his broom and walked over to the Quittich pitch, biting his lip more every step he took. He stood over it and didn't see a mass of people, but only two people. His mind began to fog over with the realisation that Slytherin may never become as great as it once was, but he continued to walk, closing his eyes as he approached the pitch.
He stood on the side of the pitch, and seeing Zachary and L.C there. He growled a little before continuing and standing near Zachary, Jerred threw over a cumpled piece of paper.
"Stupid notice." Jerred said, remembering a line he had read. "I'm only here because you oh so graciously asked me to be."

Erin walked out onto the feild after Jerred. The firebolt her oldest brother had given her held firmly in her left hand. She knew she was a great quidditch player, she had beaten her cousins many times and one of them was even on a professional team.
Erin looked at Jerred and laughed. "Don't sound so enthused Boneman..." She sat on her broom and pulled her hair back. "Are we gonna do this or what?" She asked Zach without looking at him. "I've got things to do."

Zachary smirked at Jerred, obviously pleased the boy decided to join them. "It seems all the other Slytherin's haven't got any sense of House Pride," he said with a nonchalant shrug, his eyebrows knitting together in a small frown. "Though, no matter how short on players we are, it'll still be easy for us to beat those stupid Hufflepuffs." He was, of course, determined to throttle Moen in the Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin match.
Then, mounting his broom he stared at them all in turn, noticing Erin kept her gaze away. Scowling at the lack of attention he was receiving from his house-mates, he kicked himself off and hovered languidly in the air.
"Let's start by testing out your ability to catch the quaffle." He smirked, dragging his feet across the floor as he flew toward the heavy chest containing the quaffles. Flicking it open, he watched two red blurs spring into the air and managed to catch one. Without warning, he threw it at Erin, "Patience, Kennedi. You don't want to be caught off guard."
Then, with a cheeky smirk, he flew higher into the air and waited for the girl to make a pass.

Jerred rolled his eyes as he got on his broom, a Nimbus his father had bought him a while ago. He saw Zachary throw a quaffle at Erin and without thinking, speeded right for it, darting between the quaffle and Erin. He caught the quaffle in his left hand, barely gripping it as he threw it back at Zachary.
"Sometimes one has to be ready to interfere when seeing others involved." Jerred said dryly, before wafting away from the two other Slytherins. He drifted lazily over towards the goalpost's and settled in front of the middle ring, his eyes looking through it. A smug smile formed on his face as he turned to watch the others practise.

Erin sighed. "Guys." she muttered under her breath. "They always think they have to show off." Erin sped after Zachary, determined to show him some competition. She circled him a few times before coming to a hault. She smiled at him and shrugged. "I'm ready when you are." she said gazing into his eyes.

Zachary caught the quaffle and watched Jerred soar toward the golden hoops. Turning to Erin with a scowl, he tossed her the quaffle once more, feeling somewhat unnerved by her intent gaze.
"Pass with L.C, don't let me steal it." He said shortly, "Try and score on Jerred, though judging by his earlier performance he's got some handy reflexes."
He glared at Jerred over his shoulder for stealing his thunder, before turning back to the girls. "Whenever you're ready."

Jerred wafted side to side carelessly, bored already with practise, despite it only beginning. He grinned as the real training begun.
