Thom waved his arms about his he mimicked what Helia had just said in a whiny female voice. "Courtesy is not important, but respect is - neh, neh, neh." he glared. 'Yes, I know, Helia.' he said dryly. 'I just don't want to. And anyway, it's easy for you to say - you own a bloody wand shop, don't you? You'd be a bit out of luck if you used them to scratch your arse or whack flies.' he crossed his arms moodily.
'It's bloody freezing out here... can't we just magic this stuff back to the castle?' he moaned, at last picking up his wand and staring at it darkly. 'I'll stick you where the sun don't shine if you carry on ignoring me.' he threatened.

"You're a wizard, you'll be a bit out of luck if you don't learn to respect magic," she said with a roll of her eyes. "As for using magic to get all this stuff back, I'd like to see what the teachers think of a whole bunch of Unicorn horns and hairs floating their way to the Hufflepuff common room. See, I'm supposed to be here, people won't question me carrying around illegal magic items. You on the other hand, need an alibi," she said, batting her eyelashes innocently. "Now, if you'll excuse me, my shift is up. Got to go change watch with whoever's taking this round after me. Ta taa," she said in a sing-song voice and began walking back towards the edge of the forest.

Zachary grinned at Thom's mimicking before looking at his own wand. He hadn't cared to respect it, nor treat it rudely and raised an eyebrow. "Mine works just fine, and I treat it like the piece of wood it is." He said offhandedly, shining the lumos in the ground's direction before lighting it in Thom's face.
"Why not use some of your trading money to buy a proper cloak?" He said in distaste, smoothing down his own superiorly. He was perfectly warm.
His wand chose that moment to shudder in his grip, and his lumos went out almost instantly. He made a face at Helia, before whispering the spell again, and shining it at the ground once more, muttering savagely about respect.

Thom glowered at Zachary reproachfully. 'This cloak is just fine, thank you. Finest quality Dumstrang fur lined cloak.' he said with an up turned nose, although he had always suspected since the day he had traded it for a basilisk took that it was indeed fake - he probably would have felt cold in the desert with this thing on...
He watched Helia walking away, envious that he himself was too much of a chicken to walk through the forest on his own. It was just him, Zachary and Erin now. 'So...' he said uncomfortably.

Staring at the cloak, Zachary immediately made a face. "What a cheap imitation, even the most oblivious shoppper should've known that his was a fa- You didn't trade for this did you?" He said, looking at Thom with narrowed eyes. He would never have taken a Hufflepuff to be his trading mentor, but he had thought Thom knew exactly what he was doing. Of course, he instantly regretted it, realizing that he was just as gullible as every other Hufflepuff fool.
Groaning, he piled his items into his cloak, watching Helia walk away. She was the most intelligent, he admitted grudgingly, and he wasn't sure how to get back himself. Looking back at Thom, he said demandingly, "You're an adult. You lead us back."

'For your information it was one of my first trades back in me second year,' he said snidely. 'I was a bit inexperienced. I've only just grown into it anyway so I may as well use it...' he said, looking down at himself and raising his arms. The sleeves were still a little too long, even though Thom was one of the tallest students at Hogwarts. 'I've cheated the bloke who sold me it a thousand times since anyway.'
He then saw Zachary looking after Helia longingly. He felt a sting of insult. 'Oy - she may be book smart, but I'm street smart. You don't need her to get out of here.' he said smugly.
Thom found two more horns together and shoved them inside his robes. 'Here, find some hairs and I'll show you a good trick when we try and flog 'em next week.' he said, trying to take his mind off the darkness. He was usually fine when he was alone in here - it was the prospect of having to look after two kids as well that unnerved him.

Zachary stared at the cloak with a raised eyebrow, before rolling his eyes. "Right, fine." He said resignedly, not wanting to start an argument as the forest seemed to have gotten darker and Thom was their only way out.
Looking back at the Hufflepuff, about thirteen hairs gathered in his hands, he frowned. "Street smart? I wasn't aware Hufflepuffs were any sort of smart." He said, gripping the hairs tightly, before shoving them in the boy's direction.
"What sort of trick can you do with these? Aren't they already valuable enough?" He was following the Hufflepuff now, absentmindedly, questions of all sorts escaping his mouth as he stared at the trees nervously.

Thom groaned impatiently as he picked up the eight hairs the boy had dropped. 'They're tough these things, but bloody hard to loose,' he said, snatching them up greedily. 'Tell me, did you read all this Hufflepuff trivia in a book or are you just so far up your own backside you're head is actually in the clouds?' he tossed the hairs back at the boy.
'And I'll tell you about the hairs next weekend. I don't want you getting any ideas but we can double the value. I know a bloke who we can fool no problem...' he grinned to himself as he climbed onto a tree trunk. He could see the broad foggy trees much more clearly up here. He realised it was very quiet...

Zachary reared back, clearly offended. "For your information," he said, catching the hairs clumsily, but smiling brilliantly when none of them fell. I should try out for Chaser he thought to himself coc-kily, before looking back at the Hufflepuff. "I have never met a Hufflepuff that didn't fit my exact descriptions." He finished huffily, but turning away as he muttered a soft, "until now."
Watching as Thom climbed up the tree, he made a face at Erin. "What if you fall and break your bloody neck? Who's going to show me the way back to the castle, then?" He cried loudly, his voice echoing in the silent night.

'You're so bloody clever - bring me back to life, or is that beyond you?' he called down, his voice echoing about the clearing.
Thom knew there was still much to be found, but the unicorn had gone, following Helia, and the silence was pretty unnerving. 'What time is it?' he asked, having no watch on himself. 'We'll be in trouble if the sun comes up before we get back to bed... I wonder if there are any centaur about?' he raised his wand as he stepped into a slow circle, looking about him carefully.

Zachary rolled his eyes, shining his wand up at Thom, trying to get a better look. "If I did have that ability, Moen, I'd bring more interesting people back to life." He muttered sarcastically, watching him carefully. "Really, don't fall. They'll blame it on me, especially that git Addis. Ready to pin anything on a Slytherin."
Zachary looked down at his wrist, making a face. "It's nearly time for the punctual Ravenclaws to wake up and go down to breakfast." He said wearily. "You're the top house as of now- in terms of points, anyway," he sniffed, "And I know you don't want to lose points as much as me, so get your arse down here and take me back." He whined. A few twigs snapped a little ways away, and he turned his head toward the noise. "Now! "

Thom grinned slyly down at Zachary, a devilish glint in his eye. 'Aw, is the ickle Slytherin scared?' he teased in a mock baby voice. He stopped laughing as he took heard the twigs snap. 'Helia?' he called, for a moment unphased, then realised she would have been long gone by now. It was not like her to spy on people for fun anyway.
The Hufflepuff glanced down at Zachary and Erin. He would be in trouble if anything happened to them. 'You two, come here, quick.' he hissed at them as more twigs began to snap, this time closer. 'Hurry!'

"I am not scar-" He was cut off by Thom's frantic voice, and immediately his face paled.
"Wha- what? Why?" He cried out, but he had grabbed Erin's elbow as he spoke, moving closer to Thom with wide-eyes. "What is it?" His voice shook just slightly. The snapping twigs came closer and he stood still near Thom, his breathing ragged.
"It's - it's probably just another Unicorn." He said, trying to convince himself more than anyone. "Right?" He looked back at Erin and Thom worriedly.

Thom stopped breathing as his eyes ever so slowly scanned the trees lining the clearly. He was highly confused - there were noises, but he saw nothing.
His soul almost left his body as something gentle pressed against his shin, and he screamed, spinning around and firing the first spell that came to his head as he swayed a little before toppling backwards off the tree trunk. There was a sickening crack as Thom hit the ground, the back of his head hitting upon a unicorn sckull, thankfully already devoid of it's horn. Thom lay still, his wand a few feet away from his hand.
A cenatur stood before the two remaining students, an icy expression upon his pointed face. 'And who are you?' he asked them in a deep voice.

Zachary watched Thom fall off the trunk with wide-eyes. "You bloody idiot," He cried, jogging up toward the body now lying still on the ground. "I told you--" His voice was trembling, and he vaguely hoped Erin was behind him. "You have no balance," He continued, as if insulting the body would somehow cause it to snap up and give him some nasty retort.
He was cut off from his ramblings by a deep voice, and looked up as a foreboding feeling knotted in his stomach. A centaur towered above them, the obviously very muscular body glinting in the moonlight. Zachary's wand hand went limp for a brief moment of stunned silence, before he raised it again, wondering if he were to run out of the forest himself, right then, the professor's would peg Thom's injury on him.
"I-- I--" He stood frozen in the chilly air, thinking spitefully about how cold he was and remembering his and the Hufflepuff's earlier conversation about cloaks. Seemingly snapping out of his reverie, Zachary pointed his wand at the centaur shakily. "What do you want?" He asked in the strongest voice he could muster, vaguely noticing he sounded as if he were eleven years old again.
