Lauretta walked down towards the lake, the sun would probably set in a few moments. She took in beauty of the grounds. How she wished she could stay here forever. But no, L.C was already of age and would soon graduate hogwarts. She would have to leave. Reaching the lake she smiled and took a seat by the lake. Not daring to go to close, not since the incident with the squid.

Mike was taking a walk around the place, trying to figure things out but no matter how hard he tried, something always managed to surprise him.
And now was no different.
Never yet had he seen a Slytherin alone. They were usually covered by crowds of people, but this girl wasnt. To Mike, she looked upset. But Mike knew she was a Slytherin and Slytherin's had bad reputations. Mike didnt know what he should do. Should he go over and talk to her? Have her bite your head off before you even get close... Mikey! Be realistic! She's a Slytherin... SLY-THE-RIN! Does that not mean anything to you? This thought came to him and he didnt even know where it came from.
He didnt go over, instead he sat by the lake. If she wants someone to talk to... She'll come to you Mike. He decided that was better, that way if this girl didnt, he wouldnt get a head bite, if she did, she might come to him... Who knew?

Lauretta looked back from the lake and back around to the grounds when she saw a boy near the lake. She decided she would go talk to him. "Hi" L.C said before taking a seat next to him. This was kind of an uncomfortable situation. Was he afraid of her? Surely not, there wasn't any reason to be.

See... She came to you... But remember... slytherin... She may bite. Mike looked at her and gave a small smile "Hi" He spoke and looked back out over the lake. "Are you alright?" He managed to say. He wasnt usually nervous when talking to someone but he had heard about the reputation of the Slytherins and it made him nervous.

"Oh..." L.C said not knowing if she should tell him. "I'm just gonna miss it here." she added in a shaky voice as if she was about to break down. But, she didn't. L.C was strong.

Against Mike's better judgment, he decided she was an alright girl. He could tell from her voice that she wasnt okay and slipped an arm around her shoulder to give her a comforting hug. "Are you in your last year?" He asked her. Looking out over the lake, he didnt know what to say to her so he thought he might try and make small talk.

Lauretta smiled at the guy when he gave her the hug. He was really nice. "Yeah, I'm a seventh year." she sighed. Maybe she would could open a shop or something. Anything to keep her mind thinking about the bright side. Although, trying to think positive didn't always work.

Mike didnt say much else, he took his arm from around her and kept his eyes on the lake. There wasnt much else he could say. "Must suck... You like it here then i take it?" He said.

"Anywhere's better than home." Lauretta whispered this, not intentionally of couse. She hated her father for everything he put her through. L.C probably would never go back home.

Mike listened to her, he was a good listener and was usually good at helping people out, but he didnt know how he could help this girl. Mike tried to think of ways he could help, or something he could say, but nothing was springing to mind.
"Anywheres better than home"
Mike was jerked from his own mind when he heard her say this. Something was troubling her but he didnt want to pry in case she didnt want him to. He looked back out over the lake and tried to think of something he could say. Anything that would get her mind of this. "I dont think ive introduced myself, im Michael, but you can call me Mike or Mikey if you want" He thought this wasnt the best tactical thing, but if was th safest.

"I'm Lauretta, or L.C." she said turning back to smile at Mike. He seemed very nice. "It's very nice to meet you."

Mike smiled at her and bowed his head slightly. He started laughing at himself like he usually did. "And you miss"

Mike looked up into the sky, but quickly withdrew his gaze as the sun hurt his eyes. Blinking a couple times Mike smiled to himself. "So..." He started, not really sure where this sentance was going. "Uhm... Im outta things to say" No.. More like your a muppet.. Mike nodded at his own thought. His thoughts seemed to speak to him whenever he didnt want them. Thoughts are never useful.

No, this did not surprise L.C. He was very nice, but the fact that L.C was so distant didn't help. "Um, so the whole convo's been about me. What year are you in?" she asked trying to keep the conversation.
